  1. It’s sort of a testament to just how strong Tampa Bay’s overall system is when they can trade away infielders the caliber of Jake Cronenworth, Nick Solak, Nate Lowe, Willy Adames and yet still not really skip a beat. To Tampa’s defense, Willy was hitting a buck something when we acquired him, and his hitting in Tampa’s Trop was even worse. What has happened with Willy in Milwaukee is not normal anywhere.
  2. Yeah, Donaldson would be intriguing. Playing him at 1B might be the move with him if Urias keeps hitting. He’d also give us some depth at 3B with Shaw out. He could be a #4 or #5 in our lineup daily.
  3. How would you know if he is being a primadonna or not? IF he is not willing to go an extra out in the 8th or pitch multiple innings in big, late season games on occasion, then yes, I would have issues with a player’s wants coming before a team’s needs. What the team needs from Hader is really great innings like the ones he's giving them. As someone else pointed out, you don't know if he would be as effective overall if you're trying to squeeze 4-5 outs of him instead of 3, and you certainly wouldn't get as many outings out of him. Odd to assume that the role is a result of Hader being a primadonna rather than just perhaps the team recognizing that the current role has been working perfectly for both the team and Hader. Just want to make use of a weapon to its max, especially if, or rather when, we need him late in the season in the 8th.
  4. Wow….. just hoping CC has flexibility in using a major weapon.
  5. Yeah….. he’s like Constanza trying to get fired from the Yankees. Missing team stuff, flaunting pictures of his vacation in Hawaii while others are working in camp, being sidetracked with social media stuff, hosting Jeopardy, and playing golf on national TV. I really don’t care if he does some of these things, but as a team player his focus is everywhere but getting better.

I hear ya with the long season thing, and I agree with you mostly. Glad he is doing well, and yes he is doing even better in this role as strictly closer. I just hope CC has some flexibility in his usage come pennant drive or playoffs.
  7. He's said repeatedly that he prefers the role he has now compared to his previous role you described. He's also at the point in his career where you want to make him happy and comfortable. I think Hader needs to take out a few billboards letting people know he’s the 9th inning man now or something. Just replace the one call that’s all ones with it. Would he even go in the 8th to get the 3rd out? I surely hope that he isn’t being a primadonna in his role come later this year when the team might need him to get an out in the 8th.
  8. And then the next three pitches to Reyes are looking really bad on Gameday…. All called the opposite….not even borderline calls.
  9. Na… he’s getting some work by simply getting hot in the pen. The way that guys are dropping like flies with injuries, I would rather win comfortably with a fresh Hader for tomorrow. Yeah, I'm totally fine with him not coming in tonight. I hope he doesn't. My (minor) thought is just the question: how much does getting loose tax an arm? I wonder how the team calculates this. I suppose the rough way is to just assign "points" to usage--.5 pts for getting loose, 1 point for anything up to 20 pitches, etc., with the rule being a guy sits if he's over a certain score. I imagine the team is much more sophisticated with how they chart, but I'm always curious about varying definitions of workload. I agree. Great thoughts…How are bullpen pitches and off day bullpen sessions charted or measured? No idea who would have any knowledge of this…. maybe a Marcus Hanel type that isn’t associated with the team. CC is probably not giving any of this info away.
  10. I’m trying to follow the Packers 0-8 record here…. Isn’t it more like 0-4?
  11. https://www.ballysports.com/wisconsin/news/milwaukee-brewers-kolten-wong-injured-list-strained-calf?fbclid=IwAR0QE189Hn9vE2NCNLv52nkLjpLXAFqSz-OC-rDfdGehiAkgKyubyLvidEE exhibit A on why I stand firm he shouldn't atleast for game 6 So if he feels good and wants to go, he shouldn’t? No structural damage… no pain (?), he probably still sits for Game 6 for cautionary reasons or simply for the Bucks to save face, but he plays Game 7. I mean it looked bad, but this decision is not based on how hurt GA should be.

  13. I'm done with playoff odds. Give me Championship odds or at least WS odds. 5.1% odds to win it all…
  14. Guessing that Young plays or limps along for game 6…..
  15. No recent April and May has been more depressing or not fun or asking yourself why am I watching this, in terms of offensive output. No recent June has been more surprising IMO, in terms of offensive output. It’s supposedly below average hitters scoring 15 runs straight or 10 in an inning when in some April/May weeks they could not get 10 runs. I guess if you told me Hiura and Bradley were going to be out #7 and #8 hitters in June at season’s beginning, I’d either think our offense was pretty good or those two are hitting terribly. I’m not sure what to believe anymore.
  16. That and I thought he was going to get his left hand stepped on to top it off. That was all kinds of uncomfortable until he popped up. I’m still not so sure Hader is ok….. Yo pitched another couple of innings, didn’t he?, before getting pulled.
  17. More like Game 1 of the Finals
  18. I was at Pirate’s Cove last week….. really great again. Memories of 25 years ago came back as it seemed to be busiest when it became dark between 8 and 10. That was the case again. Funny thing is that other mini golf places close when Pirate’s Cove is getting busier.
  19. Brewers making playoffs = Packers making Super Bowl= Badgers making Final 4= Bucks winning it all Based on this, there have been many times over the last 25 years that I have been a pretty happy sports fan. Especially at this moment, each of the above have/had legitimate possibilities of getting to the specified level.
  20. It goes to the belief that we would rather play and lose with guys that want to be here/proud to be Packers than win with a bunch of pompous jerks. I get that to an extent.
