  1. Up and down career? How about the best hitter the Brewers have ever had…. Okay and…? That doesn’t change the fact he went down hill before he hit 30 or the fact he had one of the worst cheating scandals the sport has ever had (his MVP season to boot) or was suspended or had a thumb injury that really derailed his career. It was an up and down career. The fact our history is short and pathetic that Ryan Braun is the best hitter we have ever had doesn’t change the accuracy of my comment. Good….but it was rocky. Best hitter we have ever had, but I’d care more about what a 37 year old Braun can do. Not what he did a decade ago with or without gummy bears. He could be bad and be an upgrade.
  2. It goes both ways, right? When not enough info is there for retired or not retired, there can be some dialogue on possibilities or probabilities that he comes back. But there IS more info to suggest no comeback. The Brewers flat out said this week that they’re not talking to him. What about that suggests anything other than it isn’t likely to happen? He is not retired, still working out, still relatively young, likes Milwaukee….. most should view him as an upgrade off the bench or at 1B on a weak hitting team. For as much as you want to make this a non issue, it is what it is right now- a possible move for Braun/Brewers. I feel it is likely to happen because of a lot of factors coming together- competitive team, short stretch drive season for a veteran, a great comeback with a huge ovation waiting, a team with hitting needs at 1B or bench. Maybe it won’t happen, but hey this is a fan forum and opinion stuff like this is par for the course.
  3. Then he gets his statue.
  4. And while we are talking about him, why not just retire his number on the day he comes back in 2021 (or if not the first home game of our possible NLDS). He won’t get a statue, but his number should be retired.

  7. Hey, a HR… That’s a start.
  8. Remembering some of this vaguely…. Why oh why not even play him the last few games of the year? What was TT thinking? Have a heart, man. Give him a few at bats.
  9. Disagree on everything… A veteran player might not want to play all six months…..I can see that. Come in August and play the stretch run and potential playoffs. Sure, why not? The Brewers also should have interest in upgrades at 1B and 3B. Braun is an upgrade, and he shouldn’t command as much $, especially for only a couple of months. We would also have the inside track on him. Of course we all are speculating based on stuff we read/hear on the situation, but enough info is there to have some hope this gets done.
  10. Open the windows…
  11. When not If….
  12. 12s legacy of being a me first player happens by sitting out with a great team built purposefully around him. The kicker is that I feel 100% of his teammates view him the opposite way, being a team first guy. Yet, if he misses A GAME this season, the staring contest will cost him.
  13. This was supposedly taped after a very demoralizing loss. Huge bit. Even the best of teammates want answers to the problem of why they are worse this season. Lots of venting with little substance in that taping… Moreover, the team was still on strict, isolation protocol because of COVID in 20/21. Being close and supportive to each other, getting out and doing things socially had to have been very limited. Throw that on top of losing big and regularly to other Big Ten schools in a year expected to be a very good year. Pretty easy to blame shame a coach rather than a friend/teammate with previous shared successes. Frustration was bound to occur and the fault has to be put somewhere. There is plenty of blame to go around probably. If nothing else, Gard will learn a few lessons on keeping tabs and communication with certain players next year. My guess is he is living in a tent on Jonathan Davis’ parents’ lawn this summer to make sure he will be in uniform come fall.
  14. Doing the opposite Constanza thing might help Hiura…
  15. What would Bobby Knight say about these seniors?
  16. It’s a bunch of kids venting after getting blown out by Iowa, a team they WERE better than in 2020 but not 2021 with all WI members shy of Pritzle back. One one hand, I would think there are probably several things or piles of small things that led many to believe the coach is a jerk. On the other, is that why you are ticked or is it really because you lost to Iowa? To me, It looks like a team meeting to put the blame on the coach, probably after Gard was especially hard on some of the players recently because of a tough loss.
  17. Yeah, let’s give Boxberger credit. He has been so important to this pen…. Often overlooked this year, he has been needed to pitch in a variety of situations. To his credit, his WHIP is under one…. His BB9 are at a career best rate.
  18. Huh? Last year at this time, the defense was considered middling and the offense lacked a true #2 and a top TE. Packers also got to the NFC Championship the last two years. Philly last two included out in first and 2nd round. Rodgers also actually won a championship.
  19. I can see a ball player like Braun having no interest in returning in April or May... the extra time to do other stuff is just great....getting the itch to play again in June and July, and treasuring a pennant race come early August with some friends in front of big crowds at familiar surroundings.
