Happy that Devin got out of the inning but he is for sure unavailable tomorrow and might not be okay for Wednesday. -
Gotta take Devin out, at least for pitch count reasons.

Counsell has shown zero flexibility on this. He should though. I hope this changes in the playoffs.

He's not a free agent til 2025, so we're pretty set for now. Yeah but if he is an .850 or so OPS from shortstop, I would like to buy a year or two of his free agency while his career numbers look worse.

Chafin has great numbers, he must have been almost untouched since the last times we saw him because I remember we knocked him around pretty good early in the year. Yes, I thought he was going to get DFA'ed.

Certainly a 210 average on BABIP has had something to do with it……..along with tons of strike outs. That will do it That and has he ever really been good?? Worst OPS from 2015-2020 was .717. Seemed like a fairly safe bet to not fall of a cliff.

CJ Cron on a minor prospect deal seems like the obvious move. Let him soft platoon with DV. He still murders LHP. I think Stearns feels mostly comfortable with the rest of the lineup. I also see Ashby and maybe Small coming up to help the bullpen out. Maybe this is the current run against losing teams clouding my mind but this team looks pretty good as is. Any upgrades to a lot of spots would be need to be a significant move that I don't know if we want to send out the prospects to do. Getting Cain and Wong back will help the depth out tremendously. -
I'd take their 3B and 1B for sure.
