  1. CJ Abrams. If a bat isn't available...you make one available. It can be done.
  2. Oh it's a LMAO...these are "innings eaters" at best. That does NOTHING for them. It doesn't move the needle one iota. This must have been the "big swing" Arnold was referencing! HUGE HUGE deal. 🙄
  3. Seriously though, they MIGHT do something, but why on earth are they always so slow about it on deadline day? I can think of NUMEROUS trades they have made that have literally been right at or slightly before the buzzer. Like I don't get it, it's not like they just threw a trade together last minute. These things are talked about well in advance, and no other teams make as many trades right at the deadline(literally) then the Brewers do. What's the hang up? You know long before that if it's accepted or not. Or you should.
  4. Get ready can't wait for the standard "we just couldn't get anything across the finish line" when McCalvy talks to him after the deadline. That's code for "I chickened out"
  5. Remember, according to him he had "several" lines in the water and he "thought things were moving". Wellllllllll Matt, we're waiting. The prices are the prices. It's like putting gas in your car. You gotta pay it if you want to be able to drive.
  6. I mean do you want to improve the team or do you not Matt? Yet somehow other teams never have a problem finding guys they want to trade for and get deals done. Arnold strikes me as the type of GM that makes an offer and that's it. No negotiating no nothing. They either accept his terms or they don't, but he won't "negotiate". That's just my opinion
  7. I couldn't agree more. He nailed it. It would be inexcusable. I have been saying that and getting excoriated for it. 🙄 21m ago Ken Rosenthal· Senior Writer, MLB Where are the Brewers? Catcher Bo Naylor and right-hander Codi Heuer can’t be it for the team with the best record in the National League. After striking out on Tarik Skubal, the Brewers need a playoff-caliber starter (the Mets’ Clay Holmes?) as well as a power hitter, preferably at shortstop or third base. Sitting on perhaps the game’s best farm system, it would be inexcusable for the Brewers to settle for a series of piecemeal additions.
  8. We at least have evidence that they said they were going to swing big and Murph said "this year is different". That's different then past years. The guys hear that stuff, you don't think that gets them pumped? Only to see it be all BS. I mean why say it if you aren't going to follow thru on it?
  9. Now there's a needle mover if I ever saw one! I don't mean that as a shot at you at all, but that is EXACTLY the kind of move he'd make and then think it's enough. 🙄
  10. All of them. You think they appreciated their GM saying they were going to swing big this year and then not delivering on that promise? What kind of message does that send to them? That their GM won't give them more help because he's too afraid to "go for it", and likes his prospects more then his current roster. Don't talk the talk unless you are going to walk the walk. If your guys think you're swinging big, you better back that up.
  11. I couldn't care less about Gausman, it's the fact that they haven't done a thing yet
  12. I feel bad for the guys on the team. You know damn well(whether they admit it or not) they are all VERY disappointed that their GM didn't take the big swing he said he was going to take. Even Murph was saying "this year is different". To me, that sends the wrong message. If the guys think you are taking big swings, then you had better deliver or they will think you just talk a big game but don't play one. It can't make Murph very happy either.
  13. Oh I'm aware of that. But is there some rule that he can't acquire anyone until Monday? I almost guarantee the reason it always takes him so long is because he's hesitant, hems and haws over the asking price and then the guy gets traded somewhere else.
  14. Bingo. Remember the greatness of last years deadline? Pulled a last minute stunner. It really helped the team too! 🙄
  15. Maybe until it gets to October and they are getting boat raced by the Dodgers again. not even close to my 1st trade deadline either.
  16. He'll just say things like "we had several lines in the water but weren't able to get anything across the finish line". Yes, and why weren't you? Because you trembled in fear over having to give up what other teams were asking for. It's funny because no one else seems to have issues giving up prospects, but Arnold acts like they are his kids
  17. Arnold really isn't going to do anything, is he?? When he does, why in god's name does it always take him so long? Other teams get deals done sooner
  18. It's not the Cubs I'm concerned about, right now it's the Braves who are only 2.5 GB of the Brewers.
  19. I'm very serious. You don't think the guys are frustrated as hell after years of this nonsense? Remember how trading Hader tanked them that year? This can have the same affect, if not more so, you hear all the chatter about taking "big swings", and then he not only whiffs, but lets the team they are trying to beat for a WS appearance get him. I'd be LIVID if I were them. If you're going to talk the talk, then walk the walk.
  20. For anyone scoring at home, with the Yankees trade, that means the following current playoff teams have made trades(to upgrade their current rosters): Dodgers, Yankees, D Rays, Twins, White Sox, Braves, Red Sox(even though Mead got hurt). That leaves : Astros, Phillies, DBacks, Brewers, Cubs, Guardians that haven't. Only two of those teams Astros, and brewers lead their divisions, the rest are all wild cards. Yes, the deadline isn't until 5PM tomm, but Matt A must be so proud.
  21. A part of me(albeit a small part), hopes this team goes in the tank the rest of the year, to show their not happy about their GM's failure to get the "big swing" he was supposedly taking. He took a big swing...a huge swing and a miss.
  22. How do we know what the long term looks like? You don't, we don't and I don't. Right? Who has more impact for THIS year? Skubal or Henderson? I can't predict the future, for all we know none of the Brewers prospects will amount to much, then what? Then they wasted a golden opportunity to "go for it", even if it didn't work.
  23. Yeah but is that drastically different from last year when he hit 29 HR's? I can't imagine it's that different
  24. So many good options? I'd say so many mediocre options. Don't see a single major needle mover left out there. Unless they can pull someone unexpected.
