I just saw someone cross the base they call "home plate." I think that person was wearing a shirt that had stripes on it, and it said "Brewers" across the front. Strange.
They started booing when Parra walked in the third run. It may have started earlier, I don't know. I finally had to mute the sound after hearing Schroeder say for the 57th time that, "... when the Brewers bust out of it, somebody is going to pay."
I've got a good idea. How about I bean the leadoff hitter on an 0-2 pitch. And then, when the bases are loaded, I'll toss the opposing team's pitcher a hanging, slow curve ball on a 1-2 pitch. Yeah, that's a good idea.
I know every team goes through stretches where every hard hit ball is hit right at someone, or the defense seems to make great catches every inning, or every little bloop and bleeder that opposition hits finds a spot where nobody can get it...but it's brutal to watch.
Is it inconceivable that the Brewers may have hired two crappy hitting coaches in a row? These coaches must provide some service to a baseball team. Or are they glorified cheerleaders? Maddux was treated like a god his first few years in Milwaukee. I don't hear anyone shouting about his greatness anymore.
If hitting coaches don't really do anything, then why are they paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to sit on the bench and do nothing? And, if hitting coaches really do something, then ours sucks.
Maybe Ted took the job because he's working on a baseball novel. It's about how an old catcher takes over a struggling baseball team in mid-May and leads them to a World Series championship.
I feel the same. But another way to look at it, if one injury is all it takes to knock this team from playoff consideration, then they aren't built for the playoffs.
Yost thinks Weeks should be batting about .270. LOL! Apparently Weeks is the only guy in the league that hits into bad luck. He also can't figure out why Rickie hasn't yet received his Gold Glove award from last year. Get your head out of your butt, Yost.
