  1. Yost is such an idiot...why didn't he switch Hardy and Hall's spots in the lineup a month ago?
  2. Parra is over 90 pitches through four, yet no runs scored. Looks like another 5 inning start for a Brewer starter.
  3. Sheesh...these two teams have a drinking contest on their off day?
  4. I think it's on ESPN at halftime of Boston-Detroit. EDIT: It's on Espn right now (6:37). I'm sure they are going to talk for a while.
  5. C'mon Manny, you got your run to work with. Now make it count!
  6. Fully agree. Man, what a disappointing day today has been. What's even more depressing is that the Brewers will roll out this lineup tomorrow: Weeks Cameron Braun Fielder Hart Hall Hardy Pitcher Kendall Manager: Yost It will be the same old thing with more than likely the same old results. There is no one on the bench that is special, and no one in the minors ready to come up and bring immediate help. Remember last year when the Brewers brought up a couple of kids to bolster what was already a first place team. I think there names were Braun and Gallardo. I wish Gamel was ready. It would be great to stick him at third. (code repair --1992)
  7. The "small ball" comment was mine, not Phillip's. I guess I should have made it blue. The Brewers can't play small ball, anyway. They neither the pitching or defense for small ball.
  8. I heard Steve Phillips on ESPN radio today talking about how HR's hit in the majors this year are on a pace to be about 1000 less than 2006. Doubles and Triples are down quite a bit, too. That's quite a significant drop. He attributes the drop to the Mitchell report and better drug testing. At the end of May last year the Brewers had hit 69 homeruns. That's without Braun. This year the Brewers have 42 through mid-May. That would be 29 without Braun. He went on to say that this lack of power forces teams to emphasize doing the little things to score runs and win games. I guess it's time for the Brewers to start playing "small ball." Not exactly their strong point.
  9. Surprise! A Brewer error leads to a run.
  10. That wasn't a lolly pop throw. Hardy was charging a slow roller and had to fire it to first to get the guy out. It was a perfect throw. Fielder just didn't catch it.
  11. Right in his glove and it popped right out.
  12. I swear, sometimes it's like watching my son's little league team.
  13. The Brewers need to put Villy back in the bullpen. He's not a very good starter. His 6th-7th inning work last spring was a huge reason why the Brewers got off to such a great start.
  14. Logan, if by this statement you think the Brewers should use a "closer-by-committee", I don't think it works. Look at list of World Series winners the last 20 years and you won't find many, if any, that didn't have a dominant, designated "closer."
  15. Good point TeeJay. I didn't catch that quote, but I did catch this one, "We played the world champions pretty well. We just didn't win a dad-gum game." After reading that, I immediately thought, "Are we being managed by an old, gold rush prospector?"
  16. Just another year when Brewers fans are overheard muttering, "When does Packer season start?"
  17. Ned Yost's only meaningful hit in his career came in '82 at Fenway Park as a member of the Brewers. Maybe his last game as manager will be at Fenway Park too. I believe in things coming full circle.
  18. Hey, an Ann Carrol sighting. She's the field reporter for FSN Minnesota for the Twin's game.
  19. It must be nice to have professional baseball hitters on your team.
  20. I have to think that the pitch to Ramirez hit the knob of the bat and not his hand. Brewers got lucky though, he probably would have hit the next pitch over the Green Monster.
  21. Has a pitcher ever thrown 90 pitches in the first inning?
  22. I'd say that Arizona got the better end because they now have a better shot at winning the World Series (barring significant injuries). But, just like any trade, we won't know until about 3-4 years from now.
  23. Can the Brewers have a laugher just once????????????????????????????
