  1. Why is anyone who isn't a perrenial all star terrible? I recall getting decent production out of the four headed monster that year the crew went .500. Regarding Bill, I wouldn't mind seeing him sit about 1.5 times (3 over 2) a week right now against a tougher righty and let counsell play, who is more reliable in the OBP department.
  2. send in your blog to Jim Powell!
  3. Also, linking blogs with friends of yours who blog is a good thing to do too. Easy to get permission from friends, even if your blogs don't necessarily match in genre.
  4. If you look in the issues etc. forum, I believe they have the full ToS and CoC or whatnot there. This is a baseball site. Anything about politics or relating to politics with a bit of exception for how it impacts baseball (i.e. steroids), is not allowed, because 99.7% of the time it degenerates into flamage.
  5. I think the answer to this would be determined by the ruling of whether a batted ball, touched by a defender straddling a foul line is considered a fair or foul ball.
  6. So, because Bill Hall didn't hit a walkoff HR with a pink bat two years in a row, he's no longer 'clutch'.
  7. Maybe the Fox people are really good at photoshopping on the fly?
  8. Sorry, that comment should've been blue. But it was immediately after the pickoff that Zambrano left the game holding his hand, wasn't it? Perhaps I misremember. Bill Hall is obviously far from the best base stealer and base runner on the team. I wouldn't quite chain him to first base (or second) like we wanted to do with Brady Clark (who one season had a 13-2 rate, which shocked me, it was back in '03 i think. been a few minutes now), but certainly we don't want him attempting as often as Rickie Weeks or Corey Hart. If they pick their spots with him, i.e. against pitchers and/or catchers who are bad at defending against the steal, those would be times for Hall to run. Going against (I dont know if he's still good and they won't play him anyways, right?) Ivan Rodriguez, I'd prefer for us to not steal at all with anyone.
  9. I say win 90 games. I don't care where or how they do it (disallowing egregious cheating of course).
  10. The field looks pretty wet to me. Was it raining? Perhaps he rubbed his hand in the dirt in celebration.
  11. I'm leaning towards that 'double steal' being a blown hit and run myself, meaning that Billy is 1-0 in 'real' steal attempts so far this year. Of course, he also got picked off second base in the first game of the year, but that throw knocked Zambrano out of the game, so we have to give Bill props for that. Overall, I think Billy's is the only CS by a Brewer so far this year, meaning that overall they have a darn good success ratio so far. We'll see if it keeps up.
  12. I like it when the tractor (prince) pulls one outta here.
  13. actually, it's his hobby, i'm pretty sure.
  14. A walkoff homer? Is he CLOSING in NY?
  15. I certainly believe that with prayer, miracles can and will happen, but that doesn't mean I won't see or bring my hypothetical child to a doctor. Sad.
  16. gifted, if you want to hang out a time or two at a BWW or Bostons or similar place and catch a game with a fellow brewerfan, let me know. (Or anyone in the appleton area)
  17. What years were those? Perhaps we passed in the halls. I was there from ~'03-'05, but didn't get my associates before deciding I was wasting my time and money because I really didn't know what I wanted to do. It's funny how finally being in a program that is what I want to do has upped my GPA from ~2.3 to ~3.9, hehe.
  18. theavrock, based on your education so far... are you for or against the consumption of animal crackers?
  19. Who all here is in college, where, and what for? I am going to college (again) at the age of 27, at ITT Tech in Green Bay, for Digital Entertainment and Game Design. P.S. If Joe_Hova reads this, are you the same Joe_Hova that is registered at the IGDA forum?
  20. But they don't make a big hubbub about them being Playboy girls, etc. etc. in their promotionary material and on air during the weather. And... Tom Mahoney is totally hot... er... nvm And yes, that 'thing' (article) was terrible.
  21. If their hitting matters, they're both rather equal. Cappie hit the first HR of a brewer starting pitcher last year (before Yo's).
  22. During the past three years, I don't recall hearing bad things about revenue. On the contrary, I'm pretty sure attendance has gone up steadily every year since '04. (Well, I guess I recall Melvin or Attanasio mentioning the lousy TV deal the Brewers have).
  23. I, too, was at the famous Opening Day '05 Branyan Blastfest. That day made me a fan, though I agree he doesn't have a spot with this incarnation of the club to start the year. However, the potential of getting a hot Branyan in september, or to come up to the bench in case of injury to one of our more powerful corner guys is more enticing to me than having Counsell have to fill in at first or third for an extended period of time. Perhaps someone can fill us in on other likely AAA candidates who could man 1b/3b if Hall or Fielder ended up having to go on the DL this year. Vinny Rottino and Brad Nelson are the only other possibilites I can think of that I've seen mentioned as probably spending the year in Nashville.
