  1. Say what you will about the Cubs, but their PA announcer/Anthem singer Wayne messmer is one of the best in the business.
  2. Clark anywhere in the lineup is better than Magruder anywhere in the lineup (or in the field for that matter). And if Clark aggrivates his injury, or its found to be worse than orignially thought, Magruder's going to get a lot more playing time. His error out there could have cost the Brewers a lot of runs. And an additional injury to Clark would cost the Brewers a lot of runs....
  3. If Clark's injury were that serious, he wouldn't have been playing at all. Seriously. But why risk worsening the injury with a seven run lead? He had x-rays and its probably sore as hell. Its simply good managing to take him out of the game there. No, no way in the world. Heh. Nope, no way. Like Terek said, I can't believe this is an issue. Its simply smart managing.
  4. Or perhaps Yost appreciates Magruder's crappy play in center? Or he likes errors? Whatever you say. Are you seriously suggesting that he was wrong to pull Brady in this situation? I don't get the criticism for this move, though, as there's no way that resting Brady wasn't the proper move.
  5. Yes, that was Yost's grand plan. Everyone gets lucky sometimes. Or perhaps because it was a smart idea to rest Brady with a 7-run lead since he's still hurting from getting hit in the foot?
  6. Why is Magruder facing right handed pitchers? Because he just ripped a double off a right handed pitcher, perhaps?
  7. Why is Magruder facing right handed pitchers? Why does it matter at this point?
  8. what is with the 3rd base coach? no one gets thrown out at home this much. Uke said it was the right call to send him, as it would have taken a perfect throw to get him, and Lawton just happened to make a perfect throw.
  9. Benito Santiago, the human rain delay. Good grief, stop holding up play already.
  10. Brian, I think that license plate has a typo... isn't is supposed to say, 3TO 250k's? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  11. I echo that.... good, smart line up today.
  12. Yost confirms in the JS today that Branyan will start vs. the righty, just FYI.
  13. Wow, what just happened? Sutton is extremely pissed about the communication error....
  14. I agree that Victor did well today. I think he'll be fine. It's just a question of whether he'll be more towards his first or second half of 2004.
  15. I didn't want to clutter up the 2005 Draft Coverage Thread with this question, so I figured I'd start a new thread. Great work on the catcher profiles as always, Colby. I think Jeff Clement might be one of my early favorites for the Brewers' pick. Just a few questions about him: You said that his question mark was his defense, but that he threw out base stealers at a good rate. Which part of his defense, then, is causing the most concern? If it's blocking and footwork, that can probably be corrected in the minors, but if its concern about game calling, that's a little more complicated. Again, great work. The time you put into the draft stuff is simply amazing, and I hope that your coverage keeps gaining you and the site recognition.
  16. Wow... Weeks with a RBI triple, Sutton says he was flying so fast that he almost caught up with Krynzel... wow.
  17. Neighborgall continues to pitch well, as he has harnessed his control considerably so far this season. Great to hear, as Neighborgall has always been a guy that I've liked, and I'd love to see him in the organization in June. He could be a great pick if his control sticks with him. I know its early, but any prediction for where he could go right now? Thanks for the updates, Colby.
  18. I missed it too somehow.... Good luck, Toby.
  19. The records are going to be shattered today, I think.
  20. Hey Brian- On the 'Other team links' page under Brewerfan.net features, the Braves are listed in both the NL east and west. Also, the link bar at the left shows up twice on the page.
  21. I agree with the suggestion of putting AAA, AA, etc next to the affiliate names (mostly because we've got so many new affiliates and I'm too lazy to go down the list and figure out which one is which) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. What happened to the small ads that were at the top of the boards? I thought that Brian had said that those reduced the cost of the boards, and I didn't think that they were all that obnoxious or eyesore...
  23. Yost sure loved to have pitchers fail at moving the runner over in teh 5th or the 6th. Make sure yoyu save that bullpen, Yost! Bah? You would have PH for Henrickson there?? Not me...
  24. Great, great job by Hendrickson so far. Enough of the Gary Bennett experience, Chad Moeller should catch everyone on the staff except for Santos at this point.
