  1. Isn't it normal for a craptastic offense to be floundering? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  2. Boy, if Capuano loses today, its a shame. He's pitching very well but the craptastic offense is floundering...
  3. Beloit wins as well, 9-5. I was in attendence at the game, and hope to put up a recap tomorrow. Early notes: Montalbo looked terrible in the short while that he pitched. The Beloit grounds crew moves like molasses. The game was halted by a somewhat heavy yet relatively brief downpour in the top of the first (lasted 5-10 mins). By the time the grounds crew got the tarp on the field, the rain was over and the sun was out. After the short rain downpour, the grounds crew proceeded to tend to the infield, and the game resumed after a 1 hour and 45 minute delay!!!!! that's right, the 10 minutes of rain was followed by nearly an hour!!! of raking diamond dry into a relatively non-wet infield, followed by 30 minutes of line re-painting, then 15 minutes of warmups. Color me and a bunch of the fans less than thrilled with the scenario. Sorry for the mini-rant, but does anyone know if it takes that long in other minor league parks? More to come tomorrow...
  4. EDIT: And two of those teams at the head of the pack, San Francisco and San Diego, are two teams the Brewers don't play again this year. Wow, I guess someone should inform the Giants to cancel their hotel reservations for September in Milwaukee....
  5. Hit and an error? What the hell is the official scorer on??
  6. Craptastic offense + Sheets looking like Sheets circa 2002 = loss today, I think.
  7. The offense is looking particularly craptastic today....
  8. I'm not sure why Hall wasn't moved to SS, Ginter to 3rd and Erickson to 2nd. Because apparently Erickson plays very solid defense at short.
  9. But Prince is in there to hit them OVER the fence, not OFF the fence. Oh, well someone should be sure to tell him that, then. And here I thought the goal was to hit the ball and reach base safely.... silly me. Prince and Rickie are starting to heat up and we're complaining about the type of hits they're getting to do it... Sheesh.
  10. Ogden (Dodgers) 21, Helena 3 Sweet Jeebus the pitching part of that boxscore is just painful...
  11. These guys just aren't good enough, folks. Playoff-caliber teams score runs. Like the Cubs. Oh wait.... And may I just say that if people consider Ned Yost's in-game managing to be bad, then they must consider Dusty Baker to be downright awful, because there's no way around the fact that Dusty is pretty freakin clueless as an in-game guy.
  12. Well, Kudos to Viz and Bennett, who were the only guys in the bullpen to get the job done today. And kudos to the Reds who finally made Kolb and Adams look human. Lets face it folks, the 'pen has been phenominal for us this year, almost super-human. We're spoiled because we haven't had to deal with many games like this in 2004.
  13. You know, the number of closers that pitch like crap during non-save situations is really surprizing....
  14. Great time for Danny to have his worst outing of the season.... Back-to back.... ugh.
  15. Yeah, LH hitters are never hit for against LH relievers. It happens all the time. Not when that LH hitter is a former All-Star and the second best hitter on the team, but you left that part out. PHing for Jenkins there is just stupid, point blank.
  16. First you need to get to extra innings and you only have 6 outs left. Giving one up because you may tie in the five left is stupid. No manager in baseball would PH for Jenkins there.... not one.
  17. Yeah, that 620 OPS against LH pitchers screams hitter! So you're going to replace a gold glove caliber defender just for 1 AB vs. a LHP? If this game now goes into extra innings, do you know how dumb that would have been having Jenkins out of the game against the RHP in the Reds' bullpen. Plus I'm sure Jenkins is going to get into a rhythm by sitting on the bench.
  18. Why is Jenkins batting aginst a LH pitcher? Because you're just about the only person that thinks he should be replaced. Maybe Viz. I know it was early, but maybe. Burba? Wise? Wise I can buy, but Burba's looked like crap lately, and it was probably too early for Viz.
  19. I know it was said before, but Overbay sure has a lot of power for a guy with no power http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I wouldn't have gone with Kinney there though, but that's just me. Just curious, but who would you have brought in?
  21. But Yost should realize that Kinney has problems with men on base. So Yost should realize that even though Kinney was brought in two other times in this series to work out of big jams and did so successfully?
  22. alright Peavey, that nickname officially sucks... GB OB is officially gone It really seems like OOOOOOOOOOverbay is starting to catch on at the Keg with the fans pretty much using the 'Section O' chant from Badger games.......
  23. Since Green Bay always wins, i'm gonna starting calling Lyle Green Bay Over Bay as Lyle *always* gets a double! Am I the only one that was confused by this?
  24. Is Sheets on path to post the best season for a SP in 'Crew history? Well, he'd have to break the 20 win barrier and with the Cy for that to be the case to pass Teddy and Vuke.... and Caldwell's 20-whatever CG's is pretty tough to beat as well....
  25. Just to be sure Peavey, your instincts still tell you that Sleepy's gonna get the job done tomorrow? I don't think I'll survive another game if you don't provide a prediction. What are you lately, like 25-1? 9-1 over the last 10 games (back to the Pitt series). And yes, I think Victor will get the job done (or at least that the team will win).
