  1. We'll never know who Schlereth's source was, or how he got it so wrong, I'd assume.
  2. My point is, (and I do apologize if it's unfair to categorize fans now with fans 13 years ago, as not all were in the same boat, I know) we've seen literally nothing out of Love so far at this level to make any kind of determination regarding his possible success or failures, yet a lot of fans, whether here, on twitter, or the radio call-in shows have seemingly decided that he's the next Brett Hundley, and that's exceptionally unfair. Could he flame out? Absolutely. But to assume so, especially now and considering the COVID circumstances with his first year in the league, is flat out unfair. And like it or not, it's the same stuff we heard about Favre vs. Rodgers 13 years ago ('back to the 80s/dark ages, etc.), and that ended up working out ok....
  3. 32 TDs, 6 INT's in his second to last year before he lost his entire offense around him. How many of those games were you able to watch?
  4. Word. I liked the 2013 draft so much, and it ended up being Bahk and a couple of guys who were kind of good here for a little bit.
  5. If only ANYONE was making that argument.... .....
  6. "Sure...it's an opinion...that it's unlikely our next QB's down season will look like Aaron Rodgers when his team goes 13-3 and he throws 24/4 in what is considered a down year(his first year in a new system)." Right up there I said your original post.
  7. How true. Moved up to take Love with a 4th. To move up 7spots in the 3rd cost the same? Why not the Comp 4th pick? Now watch we trade a 5th and move up 10spots with the 4th rd pick we still have. 92 and 135 = 170 pts. 170 pts. = pick 84, exactly. So yes, the Packers slightly overpaid in getting #85, but by the slightest amount possible.
  8. You should probably go back and re-read that quote and correct yourself. But still, it's not nearly as hyperbolic as anyone claiming to have seen anything out of Love to justify an evaluation of his possible success, right?
  9. Me too. I know there'll always be a hole/BPA debate, but the Packers seem to be doing well at the latter. I really like Stokes and Rodgers, and I get the Myers pick and thing it could be solid.
  10. This team is nuts.
  11. Is this supposed to be in blue or are you serious? What about my post makes you think I'm not serious? Where in your original post did you say unlikely?
  12. Ok? You realize the entire discussion was about what they'd done to win the last couple seasons, right? Sure do. The Packers put themselves in the NFC championship game the last two years and have themselves well positioned going forward. How did the Saints do? In fact, how have the Saints done in their efforts to go 'all in' throughout Brees' career? I'm sure they didn't waste them worse than the Packers did with their HOF QB....
  13. [sarcasm]I know it's the optimism thread and all, but I just don't know how the Brewers can POSSIBLY compete with the Padres and the Dodgers when they can't score any runs....[/sarcasm]
  14. And one of those teams will be competing for a Super Bowl next year, the other will be starting either Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill at QB and PRAYING for a playoff spot. So what? That's usually what happens when your HOF QB retires. You see a drop off in play. So I think that the Packers have set up Love pretty well to be a playoff team going forward.
  15. Bateman, Marshall, and Rodgers (in that order) were my WR hopes, so I'm fine tonight.
  16. Do they give him #12? Don't have to clearance out the jerseys in the pro shop. I like the way you think- no need to waste valuable resources... got to give Love as much free agent help as possible.
  17. Didn't work out real well witg Richard Rodgers I don't know, I thought Oklahoma! wasn't that bad...
  18. Opinion vs. fact, no? Sure...it's an opinion...that it's unlikely our next QB's down season will look like Aaron Rodgers when his team goes 13-3 and he throws 24/4 in what is considered a down year(his first year in a new system). It's entirely possible that Jordan Love will be as good as Rodgers or better I guess. Sounds a lot like the Packer fans who couldn't possibly envision how the Packers could win without Favre 13 years ago.
