I will admit I'm some what concerned for the Brewers. Right now, we are projected at roughly 74 wins. That's a pretty big drop. I understand people concern about the rotation, losing arguably two of the top 5 pitchers to free agency leave a big gap, and a huge reliance on Suppan and who ever the #5 starter is. On the other hand, I guess we have to trust in DM. and understand we aren't in a position to not really worry about a 21 million a year contract if the player gets hurt. Small market kind of stinks.. to bad the MLBPA would never allow salary capping. I don't care what Scott Boras says, off course he wants every last dime the owners can spend paid to player contracts. His lively hood depends on it, wait who am I kidding, his diamond studed solid gold toilet with 100 dollar bill toilet paper depends on it. The poor guy only makes 10 - 20% of his players salary, think of the children. I hope the Boras clan does't have to consider using lowely 50 dollar bills. He just wants us to over pay for talent right now, so off course he's going to complain as he see his players value (And the likelyhood of $100 bill TP) slowly slip away. He wants a bidding war to set the base salary super high for talent the likes of Suppan. Brewers have to stay in operation to keep a club here, if MA has to use some of the profits to pay down debt to stay in. I'm fine with it, I'd think any owner group who bought the Club would consider moving it. MA seems at least overtly alright with keeping hte club in Milwaukee. The fact is, we are a small market. We have to probably stick to the likes of other small market franchise that become succesfull. Salary dump, use our young talent, then salary expand make a push for the playoffs and then repeat. I'd rather MA keep the Club in a position to do that, then follow the Selig perineal never that good club. Right now we are int he midst of a small rebuild year, the good news it should hopefully only be a year. The bad news, I'm to used to winning now!

Yeah, I guess we'll find out his value in ST and see. Doesn't mean the Rays would take him back if we don't place him on the 25man roster. Obviously they want to take a closer look, so we'll see...

Morlan is a former Twins prospect sent to the Rays in the Matt Garza trade. He spent 2008 pitching for the Montgomery Biscuits in the Southern League, and posted a 3.64 ERA in 47 relief innings (30 appearances). He's spending the winter pitching in Puerto Rico, where he's posting a 2.77 ERA in 13 innings. He'll only be 23 on Opening Day, so the Cuban righthander still has some time to put everything together, but he doesn't seem like a likely candidate to make the Brewer bullpen out of spring training. Looks like they might be able to reinvent the series, most of the recent reinventions have worked out great (Bond/Batman/hopefully Star Trek). As long as they don't do more of the same I think it may surprise some.

Reports from the Brewers office indicate that the money that was tagged for Sabathia was extra, and above what they intended to spend. Sounds to me like there is only about 10 million of the CC money available, not the entire amount. I'd pass on Hoffman, he's not what he used to be and is trending downwards. Pitching in PETCO probably helps his save numbers.

Back in the days of semi 80s relevance I remember taking my coveted Ball and Glove logo picture off the wall and place it in front of the radio. I seriously thought it would bring good luck, with the pepsi fan club and Ameritech allowing my family to go to cheap games. I was a pretty big fan, I still have the Nolan Ryan 300th win with ticket stub! I didn't get to go, but my parents at least gave me a copy of theirs! A year after that, I went to high school. Grew my hair out, joined a death metal band. This made sports irrelevant. Around 1998, when the Brewers switched leagues to the NL. I started getting into baseball again. I had really high hopes that Grissom would some how not play like an old guy and do well. We remember how that all turned out. Around 2000 or 2001 I really started getting into baseball again, and became nothing short of obsessed with the game since around 2002 or 2003 when my buddies and I got really into Brewers baseball again. And here I am, obsessed with Baseball and more importantly keep a running tally of how many days till opening day.

Not much changed today. Prices are the same, pennants and stuff dropped to a buck. Game used stuff is exactly the same.. aka OVER PRICED.

My impression was over stock on the JJ Stuff. I have a 60 dollar picture and the ball. They had a smaller one for 20, and they kept on bringing out balls yesterday and then bats. Dude pretty much said it was due to over stock.

I didn't see any Braun or Hart ones when I got in. All I saw were Sheets 07 and Sheets 08 ASG shirts.

They also have the worlds ugliest Brewer hat. Black with what appears to be womens underwear lace for the back half of the hat!

It's a waste. I got there an hour ahead of time (Hi to anyone else freezing in line). Plenty of Jerseys, but no stars. Price? Start at 200, and for stars like Dessens, Cappelan, Gross (To bad it was 275), Estrada. Helmets? 300 bucks for a Hall helmet.... 300 bucks. Lots and Lots of Hardy stuff there, I snagged a ROMLB Signed baseball and a signed picture. Lots of Wild Card stuff, plenty of regular gear but nothing "unique"

Ha! JP is a great broadcaster, the only issue is he can toot the team line a little to much at times. I know it's his job to stay up beat and try to be positive, but some times it's a bit much!
