  1. This is horrible for my AL Fantasy team. I just got all my starters back now Evan hits the DL. I think everyone on my roster has at least spent 15 days on the DL.
  2. I think going to an international game would make you appreciate soccer more. Alot of it's about what's happening behind the play, think it's one of those sports you have to appreciate more of the subtle things.
  3. That's easy.. Stanley Cup. It has partied with the likes of Pantera. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u202/Dallas_Stars/The%20Stanley%20Cup/2001bourque.jpg
  4. That's awesome. I want one to fly in the lot during tailgates. I did post a link over at Brewcrewball to try to drum up some more looks/bigger donations. Hope that helps.
  5. Yeah that's pretty nuts. Super Bowl Estimates - 180 - 250 million globally watch the game. World Cup 2006 Championship - 761 million globally. That's 3 to one. Estimated cumulative viewership across the tourney, 26.8 BILLION. Soccer goes against most of what Americans want in a game. High scoring.. we love to score, and smaller more thin/fit athletes. We love our bruisers.
  6. This is really generous of you Mark. To bad the wallets a tad bit light or I'd be bidding. Was that L flag yesterday yours?
  7. What about a signed baby? http://lh5.ggpht.com/aaron.gross/SHj13kTKdbI/AAAAAAAAA9U/ax2LnjIUoT0/s400/DSC00099.JPG
  8. Ned: Here, let me rub down your pitching shoulder. Ben: I throw right, look at the glove dolt. Ned: You have no concept, go get me some coffee.
  9. My old roomate decided to grill out the evening before he headed out of town for a week. I was out of town for the weekend and returned Monday (He was gone all week). To my surprise, instead of doing the dishes, he left them stacked up in the sink. He also decided to clean the grates to the grill, on top of all the dishes. So you have stinky grease water that sat there for 3 days. I walked into the house and something smelled, then lifted up the top plate and almost threw up. It was so stinky.
  10. The only thing I can think of, is that Yost is trying to add the desire for more small ball and thinks CC is the way to go. Someone who doesn't/can't swing for the seats every time. That or, Yost picked up CC in a fantasy league, and to ensure he gets starts, he starts CC.
  11. Rachel Ray? Seriously? I can't stand her at all, if she would do one of the following for me, I'd watch her show. 1) Tell me important things about cooking instead of yammering all the time. 2) STOP TALKING FOR A MINUTE 3) Tip more then a grade school on your 40 dollars a day show. Come on.. you tip like poop. Giada is good looking, but her teeth are just TOO white, and her over annunciation of everything Italian bugs the crap out of me.
  12. Lawrie Wins World Triple Crown EDMONTON - At the conclusion of the World Junior Championship, the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) unveiled the tournament's award winners and All-Star team and Brett Lawrie (Langley, BC) brought home a lot of hardware. Lawrie was awarded the Top Hitter Award with his .469 average for the tournament. He was also awarded the Most Home Runs Award with three and the Most RBI Award with 16. He was also named the catcher for the World All-Star team. "We played well as a team the whole tournament," says Lawrie. "It's unfortunate that we couldn't achieve what we wanted to coming here, but I'm very proud of the way the team played during the tournament." Joining Lawrie on the World All-Star team is Michael Crouse (Port Moody, BC) as an outfielder. Crouse hit .312 with two doubles, one triple and five RBI in the tournament and fielded his position exceptionally, committing no errors with 12 putouts.
  13. I wouldn't mess with Dave "Bulldog" Bush, he chops wood in the off season. He'd be one crazy dude to push around.
  14. It's apparent that heads will clash through out the season. But the fact is, this was extremely public, and embarrassing. And, at least to me, show that Ned has lost control of the team. How many times have these explosions happened behind doors before they trickle out in public? It's embarassing, and now instead of focusing on making a run for the Division or WC, we have to deal with a stupid fight.
  15. I'd have to go with Morgan Webb. I don't know how big of a celebrity she is, but she's nerdy, and wouldn't mind my nerd tendencies. Others, Jennifer Aniston, Reesee Witherspoon, and Hope Solo.
  16. Ha FTJ. 1) Sheets 2) Villy 3) Branyan 4) Yoga 5) Braun (Simply because he is the future of the Organization)
  17. He ate some indian the night before, and was having issues in the bathroom.
  18. Jr rocks. He's a future hall of famer, yet when traded to the sox.. he turned down Nick Swishers offer for #30 and went with #17 to avoid any kind of distraction. I'd love it if he would be a Brewer, I've always had a hetro man crush on Jr.
  19. Bay had a great first night for the BoSox. I'm sure he's not used to being on a winning team.
  20. I'm jealous.. I'd kill to see Radiohead, RATM again. I'd suggest Saul Williams on Sunday.
  21. We could blame our 100 year lack of success on a goat.. http://chicagoist.com/images/2005_08_sports_cubs_goat_curse.jpg
  22. Dang.. lost my reply because I wasn't logged in. Here it goes again. I had a GREAT day if I can simply ignore the fact we tanked. Buddy and I decide to catch the game and blow off work. We stop at the bluemound establishments were we attempt to get tickets, but they are way over our head. Around 1 we head in, no luck but we randomly run into our friend Erin. Finally around 15 after, Scalpers drop their prices from 50 over to 5 over (Who's gonna pay 65 for TR.. seriously). So we get in. After the 3rd inning, Erin calls us. Their company has extra tickets in 124 row 6, we are supposed to meet her. So we head there,.. GREAT seats. Surrounded by Cub fans, but since it cost them probably 100 a shot. They aren't the jerks... except Row 1 guy with the big sign acting the cool. Around the 7th inning when we are hopeless, Erin gets a call to head up tot he press box. There we meet Steve "The Donkey" Czaben (He was sweaty), then Trenni (Yes.. her in her glory.. I didn't come off TOO much a fan boy ) and finally Drew Olsen. Everyone was rad. Our attempt at getting free tickets to BnB open failed, Steve wasn't to hip to our repor. Head back down, this time people are sneaking into seats. It's tolerable, not to bad. We get crushed and head to the bar. There we meet Aaron and Lisa cub fan. Pretty cool people. They talked about some ***** Brewer fans, we talk about some ***** Cub fans (I got called.. well unrepeatable for just going to the bathroom. Stay classy!). And finally head home. I had a great day.. minus the horrible.. horrible loss.
  23. Married at 26 divorced at 30 for me. There are some pluses to being single, being able to do what you want, buy what you want, ability to switch jobs with out worrying about effects on family etc. But after a year of "recovering" it's starting to get a bit old, and there's nothing like having another half you can share things with. Ohh well, some day again.
  24. Imagine a bunch of Brewer and Cub fans who have had 5 hours to consume alcohol in the parking lot. Now image walking into the game. This is just something we have to live with, hopefully more Brewer fans show up next time, but with their performance, shoot.
  25. www.bleedcubbieblue.com That's the SBNation equivalent of Brewcrewball.com Lots of Bizzaro BCB (Cub fans) sneak over to BCB to "engage in conversation after they win" which is code for mocking.
