1. I don't think there's a big correlation between invert W and injury. I think someone did a study, but don't quote me on that.
2. And a happy 21st amendment day to you too sir. I didn't start a yeast starter, so I'm making my celebration beer next week.
3. Well the good stuff has already been picked over. I got there today at 2:30 and was the first group of 4 o clockers to go down. They also did something new for suite holders, they get in at 3pm. So I'm not entirely sure what they all got. I scored a Branyan game worn white jersey for $50. The jerseys were way more reasonable then years past, more elite players (Read: On the roster) were $150 - $500. They have a auction outside the clubhouse sale for really awesome stuff (Game worn Young, Braun, Fielder, Hart, Weeks etc). Some CC Sabathia art. Inside there were a bunch of your average deals on various items. No real active players, lot sof Looper/Suppan/Kendall/Bush gear. Hats galore, and a table full of game used bats and score cards.
4. Meh.. call me a negative nancy. But it sure seems like we simply paid him off last year by allowing him to get his games finished bonus. Perhaps that's when the gentlemen's agreement came about. Allow him to vest his player incentives if he agreed to decline arbitration, there were zero reasons to use Hoffman at the end of the season.. he did not remotely figure into the future and we had plenty of players that needed to be looked at.
5. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNSSSSSSSSS
6. I have to agree on the Pilsners, but they have to be some what fresh. Sam Adams Noble Pils was the first Sams I liked... a hint of hops.. but crisp and easy to drink. I'm not a big fan of New Glarus. I do enjoy Moon Man, but the rest of their beers... meh... just not my style.
7. The person down the hall that constantly clears their throat via a cough. I'd say once every 3 minutes.. go to the doctor or get some vicks in ya. Youa re very annoying.
8. I have the SS braid, but I'm not happy with it and am moving away form it. Depending on the grain bill the braid would collapse causing the sparging to go stupid slow. I'm talking hours to sparge. So I'm going false bottom.. should be picking that up tomorrow and migrating my current 5 gallon MLT to a HLT. I've brewed outside all last winter, the key it to make a wind break. The boils take a lot longer to start, but it'll get there. Just be patient.
9. We are hiring like crazy. But its mainly for PR, Account Management for Agriculture type stuff. But if that's your thang drop me a DM.
10. 21st Amendment - Hell or High Watermelon - What a weird beer. There really is no hiding the watermelon taste at all, it's there and in your face. But it works.. perfect "Yard Work" beer. It's light, crisp, refreshing, but during the cooler parts of fall it doesn't fit right. But I could imagine drinking a few of these while doing some yard work. Uplands - Komodo Dragon Fly Black IPA - Dark dark colors, a ton of chocolate in this beer. So much so that you lose a lot of the bright hop characteristics. The hop aroma is there, but as soon as you drink it you get nothing but rich chocolate. It's pretty tasty.. but don't expect much hop characteristics. Coney Island - [urlFreaktoberfest]http://beeradvocate.com/b...442]Freaktoberfest - 6 malts, 6 hops, 6.66% ABV. You crack the bottle and pour it into a glass and it's blood red. But that's about when the fun stops, the beer is pretty boring. It's watery to the point where you don't get much octoberfest and its just.. there. Nothing to right home about. 21st Amendment - Back in Black - Another Black IPA. It's not nearly as cocoa and chocolate then the Uplands version. A bit lighter and a not as much offft.
11. Making a MLT isn't hard at all. You can do it on the cheap pretty easily. I'd go with a 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler, a few pipes and ball valves ($25 bucks) and you have a mash tun. Doing full boils will require a turkey frier or banjo cooker or something of the sort. But you can get a lot more variety going all grain. I enjoy it.
12. Nice Logan. I'm getting a temp controller and a freezer this week. Got my stir plate last month (It's awesome) and graduated to keg beer last month as well. I only have one batch working but a ton of beer still in the fridge/on tap.
13. Is this a laptop or a PC? If you are getting another PC you can simply take the hard disk out and put it in the new box and then snag the files. (ASsuming the disk isn't the problem)
14. I really like Oscar Blues beers. They've done some great stuff, Old Chub, Gordon, Dales Pale, Gubna (which was under whelming for the price). A few gordons will get the juices flowing that's for sure... but it just tastes so good.
15. Mass Effect 2 was a great great game. Much like the previous game it delivered... that series seems ripe for a movie spin off. If done right, it could be AWESOME. I just started playing New Vegas, I'm not that far in, just got to the New Mojave Outpost. It's pretty fun so far, it's like a massive Fallout 3 DLC though. So don't expect anything shockingly different, but I loved Fallout 3. So it's firing on all cylinders.
16. Yeah I had Dreadnaught, but I was already a few beers deep so I don't remember it to well. I wrote down some notes, but I can't seem to make it out (It was during a sampling) Beer - Was up there a few weeks back, Stocked up.
17. I enjoy their fixed gear. I think it's better then stein personally.... especially when it's fresh off the tap and it's got that yummy aroma. Lets see.. beer I've been drinking. (Guess I didn't post my thing last night) 21st Amendment - Brew free or die IPA - I had that after drinking IPAs all day, hop heavy IPAs. So it was disapointing when I cracked the can. But going into it with out having drank a bunch of IPAs it's really good. It's not a hop punch in the mouth, but has enough to make make a seasoned IPA vet enjoy it, yet accessible for most. Drink it cold though, it starts to lose it's brightness once warm. Surly - Coffee Bender - Holy balls of deliciousness. If you enjoy coffee beers, this one is a good one. It's a coffee flavored brown ale, but unlike most other coffee browns, it doesn't taste like cheap foldgers.. it's good. This beer will be great when you have to report to a tailgate at 7am. Surly - Surlyfest - It's Surlys version of an Oktoberfest. When it's first poured it has a nice hop forward smell, but that fades fast and it just becomes a normal to style Oktoberfest. It's good, not great. Russian River - Pliney The Elder - My buddy found this rare beer. It's tasty, double IPA.. so it's for those hop heads that' aren't afraid of a little bitterness. If you like citrus/pineapple notes, this is your beer. It's not very carbonated (atleast the bottle I had) so there's not much to hide. If you can find it, I suggest trying it out.
18. So I have Oso Night Train last night. Damn what a great porter. A little coffee hints, malt, great mouth feel, creamy.
19. Doesn't google maps navigate beta do the same thing? Turn by turn.. and it's free.
20. Lets see.. things I like. 1) Handcent SMS. Makes it look and feel like an iPhone with conversation style texting. 2) Say My Name. It'll read your contacts and say the name of the person calling/texting/emailing depending on settings. 3) Where's my droid. Loss your droid, sms your phrases and it'll reply with GPS location and turn off silent mode and ring. 4) Weather bug. Yeah it's weatherbug, but it's actually a nice weather app for the droid. 5) Power Control Widget - I don't remember if that's a default app, but it'll allow you to turn off things easily. 6) Advanced Task Killer - Kills apps that run in the background. Good for when you are trying to stretch battery time. The rest of the stuff I run is for fun. Chrome2Phone, allows me to send chrome urls to phone. Works stupid fast. Google Sky Map, Google Voice app. Wifinder wifi listener agent.
21. Woah.. would it matter? I'm pretty sure BTA would be the Jim Jones and we'd all drink his blue kool aid. So the answer would be... no... because it wouldn't matter anymore. (Teehee) Shortlist: Twins, Reds, Royals, Rays. Probably Reds since I enjoy NL ball.
22. Very cool. I'm going to be an hoppy Oatmeal Brown Ale (Surly Bender Clone) soon, that'll get in the keg. Then I think I'll brew some kind of long term beer, perhaps Lager. (Maybe an Octoberfest). It's going to take a few brews for you to get your system down pat Logan. Make sure you check your thermometers, temp readings can be off by a lot. I've found that I brew best with the brew log and timers (I use Brewpal App on the iPhone).
23. Just the pale ale. I just bottled it last week, another couple of days it should be carbed enough where I can try it. Just bought a kegging system, so bottling be damned!
24. DFH90 Minute: That's a pretty good beer. The 120 is way to astringent, and after a few of the 90s I start to taste more booze then I'd like. Have you tried their Aprihop? Now that's a weird beer. The first half of the beer enjoyed. The second... not so much. FFF Alpha King: Tasty APA. Not as bright as I'd like since it promised "citrus", but it's a very good solid APA with a few subtle malt notes. MN Beers: Grain Belt - Premium. YEah I was just buying regional beers, but it's high life. It's not good, except when it's 90 degrees out and you mowed your lawn. Just buy high life, it's cheaper. Surly - Furious - Bright citrus and grapefruit flavors in an IPA. It's probably one of the better IPAs I've ever had. Surly - Bender - It's a hoppy oatmeal brown ale. Great carmel malt flavor with a great smell when you open the can and a not over powering amount of hops. It might be better then Furious. Surly - Bitter Brewer - It's a bitter british. It's just ok at best, not much going on. It fails to deliver, but it's probably right for the style. Surly - Cynic Ale - It's a belgium. As I'm not a fan of the style, it's hard for me to pass judgement. It's just alright. Schells - Firebrick - It starts nice, but then kind of bring son a charcoal taste to it, I couldn't get past it. Schells - Pils - It's fine. Clean simple Pils. Neither hate or like. It's middle of the pack. Schells - Zommerfest - It's a Kolsch. Not much to this beer, kind of reminds me of the macro beer style. Stone - Sublimely Self-Righteous - Black IPA that delivers on all counts. I think this could be a great fall or spring beer since its heavier then IPA. Highly recommend it. Stone - Vertical Epic (2009) - Porter. Very very good, if you can find a bottle I recommend it. Nice malt flavors. Stone - Russian Imperial (2010) - Very very boozey, that's all I could taste. Masked everything else. Stone - Russiam Imperial (2008) - Now that's a good imperial, the booze flavor subsided and it's a lot more subtle with good hearty mouth feel and warming drink feel. Starts to taste like a rich stout. I have a few more Schells to go through (Thanks sampler pack).
25. I use bankers boxes. Put one under the sinks, drink rinse and place in box. When it fills up just move it downstairs. I really need to bottle my sierra nevada clone, but I simply hate bottling already. If you are remotely handy, you can make your own immersion chiller on the cheap (About 40% off what they sell it for). Go to your favorite hardware store, buy 1/4" copper tubing (Doesn't need to be the expensive K kind), a few feet of tubing, a barbed hose connector and SS clamps. Find a round object that'll fit in your boil kettle, us bending springs and start bending it on the pot. Once you get one or two wraps around it, it'll go very fast and easy. The hardest part is bending the entrance and exit bends with out kinking the copper (I lost about 2 feet of copper trying to do that, but I have 60' of copper). Bend it into your desired shape, connect it up.. bam easy. What I need is a sightglass attachment for my boil kettle. I have to guess on volume of wort after it comes out of my MLT. Looks like you can get weldless connections for about $15 bucks.
