  1. I've been running Windows 7 for maybe 2 months now. Not to many problems, but you need a crap ton of memory on your PC. With steam/chrome open (one window) I use 40% or roughly 1.3GBs. I've had little to no problems, except the previously mentioned resume on Laptops -network. It appears to just not get an ip, if you refresh it'll fully connect. It's an annoyance. One thing that I actually dislike is how 7 handles the sys tray icons, Steam self updates and every time I have turn the icon on to "always display". More of an annoyance then anything. No XP direct migration was a complete failure by Microsoft who appears to have ignored 80% of the user base and just allow for direct upgrades form Vista.
  2. Kendall calls such a good game.. the Royals are for sure winning the World Series this year. Work has a plant in SE Kansas, and no one really cares about the Royals at all. They are a joke to even the Kansas peeps, and people who are baseball fans gravitate to either the Cubs (Boo) or the Cards. I feel bad for Soria and Greinke, stuck on horrible teams.. but are awesome.
  3. Well yeah, but Davis wants a 2+ year contract and is on the decline. There's a lot to indicate that Davis was lucky last year to keep his ERA down, he had a lot of walks. So unless he wants to sign cheap, I'd avoid him. I'd support a high risk high reward signing of Sheets or Bedard. Nothing long term (maybe 1 year plus club option) witha lot of incentives.
  4. Have you tried it bruce? Flu woahsolvd. Much cheaper too! Just because Looper won the game is not any indication that he helped win. His last win, he left the game after 6IP and giving up 6 runs. Brewers down 6 - 1. The Brewers came back and put up 6 runs to take the lead and put Looper inline for the win. The Brewers also scored 2 runs that inning on wild pitches, and the most important one being the eventual game winner just before Cam flied out. Wolf is an immediate upgrade over Looper, will it show up on wins and loses? Who knows, but a good guess would be "Yes" as the offense has to score less to get a win. If Mike Burns won every start last year 28 - 27 and went 33 - 0 would that make him a great pitcher? I'd say absolutely not. A win depends more on the team as a whole and not a direct reflection of one individual player. Look at Ben Sheets in the years he was healthy, bad record because the offense sucked not because he didn't do his part. Wins shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as a pitcher when evaluating them as an individual player. Now are you saying we might win less? Perhaps, maybe our offense puts up less runs. Perhaps we win more when our offense struggles and we can only put up 1 run a game.
  5. Yeah Disk. It will be a great signing if it happens. He could be our savior, or a low low low risk investment. I hope for the best, but prepare myself for the worst.
  6. Why is Loopers wins even mentioned? Wins has zero value, it just tells you really how lucky they are. The offense scored more then they gave up, it's not an indication of true skill at all. Looper was basically -1 WAR and below average on every metric you can find. He's bad, an average pitcher will get you +1 win over last year, and Wolf posted two +3 (I'll just say +2 for 2010) that's a +3 win swing. What I'm trying to say, if you put anyone who is remotely "ok" you are going to get more then 1 win out of not having Looper. Add in the fact that he hardly ever went past the 6th inning last year, that saves a lot of bullpen IP and further increases WAR since we won't have to use the back end of our bullpen as much.
  7. MS Security Essentials actually works pretty decently. Especially on malware.
  8. Just don't drive. Drink till you forget science... just don't drive home.
  9. Yes he signed a minor league contract with a ST invite. McCalvy reported it last month. I'm not sure if he's playing Winterball or anything. I'll have to tweet McCalvy.
  10. Don't count on much. As stated he's coming of not throwing much, plus last reports about a month ago that he is having arm slot issues and can't reproduce it. He's got some time to figure it out, but don't right him in as a sure thing.
  11. He got 1 yer of Lee for about $8 mil less than he is worth. That is a huge chunk of the value of this trade. Exactly. And since the prospects weren't even the crown jewel of their system. Think they said that expected value about $8M total for the prospects and then will get 2 picks from being class A. He just delayed that batch of prospects by a bit. I think it was a pretty good win.
  12. I really think Mark made a poor decision on letting Jack Z walk and extending Doug. Jack has an awesome situation though, money, low expectations, and the ability to run a team like he wants too. I've always loved Jack, so i'm latching my AL team to him. Go Seattle!
  13. Mulder is a giant question mark. Last reports had it that he can't reproduce a consistent arm slot. So I think it's wise to not count on Mulder at all, maybe he'll figure it out in the next 60 days, but who knows. With the Vargas contract not announced, we are going to be pushing $85M+ at least, I'd almost expect a trade (Hart for example) just to relieve some salary pressures.
  14. If only we had a time machine and can get the .300 hitting Kendall. He's in pretty big denial that he's not the player he once was.
  15. To bad it's probably for 8m with a 2m option http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. While they do have short porches, the massive center field actually neutralizes most of the odd dimensions by having such a huge center field. While pullers get the short porch, balls hit into CF make up for it (almost neutralizing hrs too). Wish I could find the article.
  17. No big surprise here. I think attendance will regress and Mark can't afford to lose a ton of money.
  18. Hopefully Fire Doug Melvin.com gets a mention. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Rus, I meant the formating. It looked horrible rendered on my monitor, much better on this laptop.
  20. Heck of a win. To bad Bohannon couldn't sink a three to save his life.
  21. Offft hard formatted read Russ. Remember we also gave up two minor leaguers for Lopez. Doubt they really had a future with the club, but that void needs to be filled with someone. And I'd think a draft pick could possibly pay off in the future. As I mentioned in another thread, it seems that if we are that concerned of $4.5m, then our budget has to be razor thin. I don't have much hope in getting any kind of pitching,.
  22. Yes Gomez is super 2. So he's in Arby 1 (Noted on his line). I assume that the money we are paying are included in any budget we have, if we don't count the $13m it looks like we could do real things with it. But that's assuming that Mark is willing to roll them bones and pay a few million out. Since Lopez was a risk due to possibly accepting and making what $5m... it's fairly safe to assume that $13m is included in any budget we have.
  23. Best estimate I could come up with..assuming round arbitration numbers is $66million and tons of holes to fill. Check it out
  24. L4D2 is pretty fun. It's different then L4D, they seem to try to push you into moving all the time instead of parking in a corner and fighting. 3:10 to beat a campaign on Advanced, Expert was a bit to hard.
  25. Fine fine. We'll throw in Suppan.
