  1. If Hall or Mench had hit a grounder, either Wilson or Sanchez would have been liquidated on the force play. That might have been a time no one covers 2nd.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. Wang living up to the Time Magazine hype today.
  3. Pythag will improve to reflect won loss record with blowout tonight
  4. Anderson "calling the shot" on the DP.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  5. That's a set play. Almost everybody goes on contact with a runner on 3rd and 1 out. Happens sometimes
  6. Hart with 2 really sloppy OF assists today. All runs unearned due to the Hardy error, so Elmer's ERA goes down that inning.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  7. Did it happen when Sheets got tangled up with Theriot at 3rd?? Didn't seem to affect his pitching too bad.
  8. Lesson here, is if you have all of your rotations and backups down on defense, you can get away with being a little sloppy, two examples this inning.
  9. WGN saying Yost took a tumble yesterday AM and broke his collarbone.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  10. Padding CoCo's stats there.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  11. Mench wipes out on the transition from the field to the track. Can't hang this on T-Bow, he had DeRosa out twice in that sequence.
  12. Spurling warming up. Feel a little better with a couple more runs. Turnbow up as well, may depend on what they do this inning.
  13. Minor league ST games and extendend spring training "games" are played under very loose sets of rules. (Looser than your lowest level of youth BB) That's why players from the ML team will come down for a minor league spring game at times. If you want someone to get 5 AB's without playing the field, he can lead off the first five innings as a PH and then leave.
  14. I don't think it's concsious, but in terms of player procurement Melvin and Ash seem to like to zig when everyone else zags. Examples would include not having a Dominican academy and drafting a lot of Canadian players. Drafting a significant number of African-American players could be interpreted this way as well.
  15. Schroeder: You've got to be careful here with Lee on 3-1... Or you could just pound a slider on the outside corner and have Lee yank it to the 3B for the win.
  16. Three straight "where did that miss" pitches for the leadoff walk, are you kidding me??? One of those has to be a strike, or your strike zone is less than half-size.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  17. Problem is the right now the bullpen looks like this: 1) Cordero: Top-flight closer 2) Turnbow: Very good 8th inning guy 3) Wise: Pretty good, but no durability at all, almost to the point where it ties up your hands in certain spots in terms of usage 4) Shouse: Solid LOOGY Then you have Dessens who is the long guy and hasn't really been needed in that role yet this year and Aquino and Villanueva who have struggled to put it mildly. In other words if Wise isn't available (which is pretty often) or the starter doesn't go 7, that 7th inning is very nervous. One more guy in the pen that one is comfortable with would be real nice. Either one of the bottom three has to step it up or find someone who does.
  18. While T-Bow's been money this year, his wobble yesterday forced Cordero in for the 9th and most managers won't bring in a closer for the third straight day when it's a non-save situation, because then he's definitely out for the next day. Of course, going to Aquino yesterday may have at least let one of them have the day off, or not the way he's throwing. Even if you had reasons to bring in Aquino, what was the harm in letting Wise pitch the bunt, he just has to throw a BP pitch or two. Cappy pretty much made sure he won't be called up for a few weeks with his snit this week, so who would the Brewers bring up??
  19. Ahhh. the old strike them out, throw the ball into CF play. This team committs more errors against base runners...
  20. 3/4 of the cycle for JJ with likely 2 more rips today. However, it is the 3B he's missing
  21. That last slider by T-Bow was really filthy
  22. Per Gameday, it sure looks like Wise is getting hit hard.
  23. 11 K's for Claudio, nice... Remember his stats are a little out of whack from mop-up against the Cubs a couple of weeks back. As maddening as the 5th inning sequence was, if you have to make 3 errors in a game, that is almost exactly how you want to make them. Vargas didn't have to throw any extra pitches because of them and it only led to one run.
  24. If I'm the Potowonami (sp) 21 contestant tonight, I'm thinking I have a chance for the 10K. This isn't a surprise when you looked at the career totals against each pitcher at the start of the thread.
  25. Game day had that pitch grooved with the "In play, runs scored" on it and I was thinking with Hall's luck lately that it was a Sac Fly.
