Now if only Ortiz could have just advanced the runner from the 2nd to 3rd, it would be a 2-2 tie game. But of course, he couldn’t.
  2. adambr2
Hey, thanks for nothing, Joey. Couldn’t even get him over to 3rd.
  3. adambr2
Not going to be too hard on Miz. Can’t expect nothing but zeros every game. It’s been another game of unacceptable results with runners in scoring position.
  4. adambr2
    Mauricio freaking Dubon. Lol
  5. adambr2
Why on earth are we going with 3 cutters on 3-2?
  6. adambr2
See William, we needed THAT at bat last time. And we need that baserunning never.

    Don’t shoot the messenger!
  8. adambr2
That was up and out of the zone for Ball 3. With the bases loaded and a walk driving in a run, I would have liked to see Contreras be a little more selective than that on a 2-0 count.

Is there any real reason besides the fact that his name is Christian Yelich and he used to be a very big deal around here that he should be regularly continuing to bat leadoff, much less against a lefty?
  10. adambr2
We have recourse to change it. You can’t let those go unchallenged.
  11. adambr2
He’s throwing some that are not in fact touching the zone at all.
  12. adambr2
Pratt tap your head, man. That wasn’t even close.
  13. adambr2
So, assuming a Group win at this point, what are the potential draws for the next round looking like?
  14. adambr2
Should be able to exceed that this year. Although I imagine the focus against Turkey will be rest and health moreso than points.
  15. adambr2
Have we even scored 6 total goals in any previous World Cup?
  16. adambr2
Maybe Lara just set the bar too high in April and May, but he has really been going through it in June.
  17. adambr2
He’s the gold standard for that too, but if we’re going to be fair and impartial (and I can’t stand the guy too), yeah. His defense alone is worth about 2 wins a year. Essentially prime Mike Cameron.

It’s a good reminder though, that even the best of the best defenders have their “ugh, what was THAT?” moments. PCA is pretty much the gold standard for outfield defense and he’s had several moments just against the Brewers this year that were pure comedy.
  19. adambr2
Well, going 1 for 12 with runners in scoring position did not help. They had 15 baserunners today. The opportunities were there.
  20. adambr2
I’d be lying if I said this didn’t cross my mind

I’d like to think that the Brewer fanbase has evolved to a point where we have a pretty good understanding of why guys that most fans have never heard of are getting long-term contracts while the guys they know about aren’t. I don’t really know, though, how many fans still consist of mostly casuals who are just there for the big names.
  22. adambr2
Not sure he’s going to be lineup worthy for that long. He's already probably a guy who should be sliding down the order and we know that the reasons he isn’t are more political than production related.
  23. adambr2
Which is why we should generally stay away from those deals.
  24. adambr2
A .779 OPS and 5 dingers isn’t good enough for a guy who makes 25 million a year and hogs the DH spot on a nightly basis because he can’t field any position adequately.
  25. adambr2
Bout as un-clutch of an AB by Yeli as you can have.
