  1. Go for it. Run a tush push.
  2. I mean when I say it in the context of watching my favorite football team, that’s what I mean too, not that I want to egg his house.
  3. Are false starts just fine as long as you’re running a tush push?
  4. 9 plays, 12 yards. I hate Matt Lafleur.
  5. This roster should be able to withstand losing Kraft. They drafted Golden where they did for a reason, they got Watson back and will get Reed back. Pretty much every other skill player on offense is healthy. This team should be fine and competitive as long as Love and Parsons are both healthy, which they are. None of this is to say that you are wrong, you might very well be right but the way they are built they SHOULD be able to withstand losing Kraft. They did not make a massive trade for one of the best defensive players in the NFL to be a TE away from having their entire season derailed. If it’s more of the same 6/7 seed and early exit, MLF needs to go.
  6. $10M of that is independent of anything else. He’s getting 10M from us for the buyout regardless of what he does. If he gets 3/75 from another club, he’ll get $85M total, 75M from them and 10M from us. So while it’s true that he’s going to get 32M+ from us if he accepts the QO, you can’t look at it like we’re offering him 1/32 because that’s not the situation. I do think there’s a chance he accepts, though.
  7. “ChatGPT, how can I not fire Fickell but make it sound like we’re still moving in a positive direction?”
  8. I’ll add one last point to the last discussion and point out that we are far better in pass protection than run blocking.
  9. Division suddenly looks really up for grabs. 5 division games left. Definitely need to take at least 3 of 5 to win the North.
  10. This times 1000. This roster, both offensively and defensively, is built to win track meets, not old school clock control ground games. Not punting all game is a pretty good indicator that you’re able to move the football. Not punting all game and scoring 13 points indicates a pretty flawed approach, even with a pair of turnovers. Quit spending all game trying to control the clock, being predictable on 1st down, and just run your damn offense. It’s what we did in Pittsburgh and it’s why they could not keep up. You have the deepest WR corps you have in years. You have a franchise QB that you’re paying 55M a year. You have two bookend edge rushers. Teams are not going to win track meets with you. Stop being your own worst enemy.
  11. One other beef I’ve got: enough with the crap of carrying two kickers. Nobody does that. Now we had to cut a backup TE, a position that we’re suddenly really thin at, and lost him to the Vikings, because we just couldn’t let Havrisik go. If McManus is your guy and you believe in him, cut Havrisik and don’t concern yourself with who picks him up. If you’re sold on Havrisik, then cut McManus and keep Havrisik. What they’re doing now benefits no one. You have a backup kicker inactive and not contributing to anyone, while you have a starting kicker constantly looking over his shoulder because you’re keeping a second kicker on the roster. Not exactly a vote of confidence. Make a damn decision and live with it.
  12. Random question. Offense gets a 1st down. After the play, offensive player gets a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty for taunting. Why is it 1st and 10 and not 1st and 25? If the same player had been tackled a yard short of the first, it would be 2nd(or 3rd, 4th) and 16.
  13. As best as I can tell, MLF goes into “well goodness, we can’t give them the ball back” mode in any drive that begins with less than 4 minutes left in a half. I can appreciate that he’s at least THINKING about that, but he overplays it to an extreme degree. There’s no tempo to it at all. He does whatever he can to kill the first couple minutes immediately, only to inevitably scramble in the last minute when they’re running out of time.
  14. One thing that got a little overlooked because of all the other issues was how bad the 2 minute drive before halftime was. I remember saying “ok, you’ve got 3 timeouts, 2 minutes, and you’re at midfield. ZERO reason for the clock to become an issue.” Well, a couple dive calls to Jacobs later accompanied with some holding penalties and the time was cut in half, still at midfield. They were fortunately able to get a couple long plays to salvage the drive and get 3, but they should have just been able to run their offense and had no issues. MLF is never going to change. It’s the same mistakes season after season with no learning from the same mistakes.
  15. He’s great at accepting blame, he just never learns from it and does anything differently next time. He’ll say “it starts with me” and then go make another emotional decision next week.
  16. MLF on the 4th and 8 decision; “Hindsight is 20/20. I wish we would have taken the points. Bad decision.” Is Matt aware that there are real NFL coaches that are capable of making good decisions in the heat of the moment without the benefit of hindsight and that don’t always make emotional decisions on the fly?
  17. We have the same amount of wins as the Panthers.
  18. It didn’t matter what we did. It was all over once we let them drive 40 yards in 2 minutes.
  19. Another let down game for pretty boy Matt. Absolutely disgraceful. Fire this man.
  20. I’m pretty sure they have favorable wind.
  21. Great job, D. Trash can game. Embarrassing.
  22. Finally break through and score a TD, shank the XP.
