I don't think Ned was as mad about the call as he is mad about the fact that the 1st base ump made a call that he couldn't have possibly seen with 2 people in his way. Is that an MLB sanctioned umpire at first base, or is it just a guy they picked up off the streets tonight? He's looked like the latter tonight.
Hall has GOT to make that play. It was too close to call as far as fair or foul, but he needs to at least hold him to an infield single. JDLR has gotten screwed by some bad defense in his last few outings.
You ever see those switch-hitting guys that hit like .350 from one side and .125 from the other side? Yeah, Magruder is one of those. You would think that batting coaches would talk to these guys and tell them to just stick with their dominant side.
Who gives a crap about the save vs. non-save situation. There won't be any game to save for anybody if we can't get up to bat again. Go with the guy that you can be pretty sure will give you that chance. And that's Turnbow. And he's nowhere to be seen here....UGHHH
I'm sure you were mostly kidding, but that was a ridiculous move in my opinion. You've got the game ON THE LINE. And a chance to SCORE THE WINNING RUN. Go with your best pinch-hitter. C'mon now.
Why isn't Helms batting??? You want to go with the guy pinch hitting at .500 over a .220 guy with no clutch ability!! Yes, regardless of the lefty/righty matchup. That crap is overrated.
Yost would be INSANE to leave him in for the 9th. He's done. Good outing. One lucky 325 foot flyball is the only reason we aren't in a position to finish this one off.
They can't end this one early, and call it a final, like a rain delay, can they? I mean, it's not our fault, we shouldn't lose our chance at a comeback just because the electricity went out in their stadium.
I wouldn't have said today. Not with how our bats have been and how much Ortiz has struggled. I would have said tommorow. With Santos pitching tommorow, I don't like our chances of winning this series. Very disappointing letdown if we don't.
Well, solid job tonight Okha, you only gave up runs in 5 out of the 6 innings that you pitched. Assuming Yost isn't dumb enough to put you back out there in the 7th.
What makes Bill and Darron so confident?? "Oh, uh, yeah, no way 6-3 is the final score, definitely still got a great shot in this one." How do you figure?? We have 10 outs left and haven't hit for squat since the first inning.
Could these commercial breaks please stop featuring that 8% off Menards sale? It makes want to never shop at Menards again in fear that I might run into that guy. Man Ohka is just getting SHELLED. How about a scoreless inning, Tomo? Just one?
