    When you are 0 for 6 on challenges, you need to take a close look at your process because you really suck at it and it’s going to end up costing you a game.

    Yeah, I don’t really disagree. Time management in the 2 minute drill is on the QB too, and Love has to get better at it.

    I think they had enough time for a quick slant. 2-3 seconds.

    4 seconds is enough time for a quick pass to the end zone and still kick.

    I’m sorry, but no matter what happens here, MLF’s clock management in the 2 minute drill is absolute dog rear. There was more than enough time at the beginning of this drive to get 6.

    Well, that’s how Julius Peppers felt, too. I get where you’re coming from on this one though. Your offense is playing really well, so it’s fine to just give it back to them on the 20 and not try to do more.

    Eh, I thought it was fine. He lost like 5 yards. If he gets one or two more blocks and gets passed that initial wall, he might take that 100 yards.

    Bass, how do you miss a 23 yard FG in a dome? You can’t just kick straight from the hashmark that you’re on. You have to aim it toward the actual uprights.

    It’s obviously not a good look at all, but Diontae Johnson did the same thing a week or two prior with the Ravens and all he got was a 1 game team suspension. I’m struggling to understand what the difference between the two incidents was and why one is being treated as so much greater of a crime.

    Then the Lions will probably sign him, he’ll have a huge game against us in the playoffs, and gloat about how he got his revenge on us.

    Hmm, I can’t speak for everyone but I definitely knew Gastineau had the record when watching that game. I remember them mentioning him several times on the broadcast. In any event, I honestly think Favre is thrilled these days to talk about anything that isn’t related to his welfare scandal. I think he loves when the focus on him becomes anything but that. To that end, I don’t think it bothered him in the slightest that Gastineau got in his face. It’s a distraction.

    I never said that Chapman blew up the reliever market, I was just pointing out that the reliever market at that time was much, much stronger for sellers than it is in the present day market. Which it wasn’t. It wasn’t just Chapman being the only exception to the market. Andrew Miller was another reliever at that deadline who brought a very gaudy return.

    Here’s something wild to think about it: Back in 2016, the Cubs traded the #24 prospect in ALL of BASEBALL and 3 other prospects to RENT Aroldis Chapman for 2 months. You’d be laughed off the phone if you asked for that kind of return for a reliever rental these days. Valuation sure has changed.

    If we were selling low it’s because he only had only a year of control left. One year of any player simply isn’t worth as much as people value that player in a vacuum. People were underwhelmed with the Burnes return and he was one of the top aces in baseball. A reliever, even one of the best, is much further down on the food chain of value.

    I’m just saying, that’s almost a carbon copy scouting report for Black a year ago. Maybe not so much on the glove. I guess my main point is that MLB is a different level of competition than he’s ever seen before. Some guys make the transition just fine, but unless you’re talking about an elite, top end prospect, you can’t really know if they will until they start getting their feet wet.

    I pretty much agree on Nestor. I’d hesitate to call any 24 year old prospect with 0 ABs at the MLB level “MLB ready”. We thought Tyler Black was MLB ready. Durbin is a guy you can add to the mix on a wait and see basis and hope he carves out a role, but he may be absolutely nothing.

    Nestor is already the best starter in our rotation not named Freddy Peralta. Yeah, you’d wish there was more than 1 year of control here, but the player we gave up only had one year of control, so… Devin will be missed, but I don’t know what more people were expecting for him.
