  1. I don’t complain about officiating much, but what an absolute piss poor job by the crew tonight. The worst part was the consistency. Watson gets called for a pick play that costs us 7 points. On the very next drive, the officials decide to swallow their whistles when the Lions run a pick of their own. Then St Brown gets away with an absolutely blatant push-off which essentially sealed the game. Shame to have a game like this decided by an incompetent officiating crew.
  2. I know it seems crazy to people because it goes against everything we’ve ever known about football. But the call from his own 30 was the analytically correct call. By like, a lot.
  3. Yep. Here we are sitting here roasting him for going against the grain when it worked and he’s 12-1 and they’ve beaten some good teams. He’s going to be in a position where he’ll need 2 playoff wins to go to the Super Bowl and that’s all you can ask for. They didn’t lose to San Francisco last year because they got too aggressive and if he doesn’t get to the Super Bowl this year it will probably be because sometimes you lose to other really good teams in the playoffs. Campbell is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the league. Maybe, just maybe he makes decisions based on what he thinks will give his team the best chance to win, and not just to try to be the cool stepdad. Conventional wisdom does not always mean correct. There was a time in the NFL when 4th and 1 from your opponent’s 45 was pretty much an auto-punt.
  4. You need like 30 yards in today's NFL. You start at the 30 and you’re pretty much within FG range when you get under 60. It’s 2 plays and every defense out there is playing soft and guarding the sidelines. If the Lions started their final drive down 32-31, from their own 30, with 35 seconds left and no timeouts, I don’t think many of us would have been reasonably confident in making a stop.
  5. Yep. It’s one of the key components to championship level play, and they just don’t do it well enough. Aside from Gary’s occasional flashes, no one in the box does nearly enough to make the opposing QB uncomfortable. Van Ness continues to be a huge disappointment.
  6. To everyone who thought it was stupid, which were you more optimistic about? Stopping them on the play, or Jordan coming back and getting into FG range with 40 seconds to work with? There’s your answer. I felt hope when I thought they would kick. I lost all hope when they brought the offense back out.
  7. He falls down and you still can’t stop them 😅 Campbell just rubbed it in the faces of everyone who questions his decision making.
  8. Lol. 2nd and 17 and you’ve got nothing. Complete fail by the Packers’ D.
  9. Who could have predicted that the timeout we called back in the 3rd to avoid losing 5 yards on a 3rd down that we didn’t come close to converting anyway would come back to haunt us now? That sure is unexpected.
  10. Ballgame. Just so much better coached. MLF too busy barking about who knows what now.
  11. This 3rd down might be the play of the game.
  12. They’re too well coached. They’ll go down early and continue to milk the clock. They’re not going to just take it.
  13. Took all of 2 basic plays for the Lions to get back in FG range. Zero resistance whatsoever.
  14. Yeah, this game is ending 34-31 at the final whistle.
  15. Absolutely killer penalty. 3 points on this drive will not cut it.
  16. One great play and one incredible play from Love on this drive.
  17. No consistency from the defense at all today. They rise up and make an occasional great play or stop and then the next drive it’s just back to getting shredded.
  18. The middle of the field that I assume is Walker’s responsibility is just constantly wide open on these 3rd and 4th and shorts.
  19. You know most people were like 80% sure they were going to convert, though.
  20. Does Jayden Reed exist on this team for any purpose other than running motion pre-snap? Other than some red zone touches, he’s been almost invisible since October.
  21. Campbell finally paid for being too cute.
  22. Great answer, fellas. Not only did you quickly go 3 and out, you pissed away another timeout early.
  23. There was never any doubt they were going for both of those 4th downs. Helps when you can convert them with no resistance at all.
  24. As usual, Quay Walker nowhere to be found in zone coverage.
  25. Gotta start making some stops on these 4th and shorts, they have looked too easy for them. I’d much rather waste a timeout on one of those than a dumb challenge or to save 5 yards on a delay on an area of the field where you don’t really need it.
