Yep, mine too. Here's a way I look at it that has helped me feel better about that process:
The Packers organization has a QB school, a system that they believe in, which has proven to be successful, where they believe they can turn the right QB, the right fit, into a franchise QB. But they can't do it overnight, it takes time, development, sometimes years.
So rather than hoping to just get lucky with one of the rare rookie QBs who can have success right out of the gate (it's really hard to find those guys when you're usually picking in the 20s), they're willing to build around those development guys, trusting their process. They're willing to sacrifice those rookie QB contracts as long as they get the right guy because they know that having the right guy at that position, even at market value, is more important than anything in this league to having consistent success.
