  1. 1) Team performance has very little correlation to what the fans do or do not believe. "Support your team" is a great concept but the team falling short in the playoffs isn't from a lack of fan belief or support and we can't push them over the hump with our own sheer will. 2) Like it or not, paragraph structure is important to the readability of a post to your audience. 3) Seems like you're a passionate Brewer fan and supportive of the organization, which is awesome. Yet when you got some pushback on things you resorted to personal insults, accusing others of being Cub fans, etc. Not so awesome.
  2. I'm talking about the playoff pitching staff, not today's game.
  3. Worrying about an 8.5 game lead with 18 games to play is wild to me. It would be among the biggest collapses in MLB history. Yeah it's possible inasmuch as everything is until it's mathematically impossible, but if we managed that, trust me, you don't want to see us in the playoffs anyway.
  4. Honestly don't care what happens with the Cubs and Dodgers, at all. None of it really matters. Nothing will matter for us except starting to play better baseball than we have so far in September. Everything else is just noise.
  5. Good grief, Colin. Thanks for playing.
  6. I am not sure how you piece together 9 innings every game in the playoffs; they are going to have to get creative. You need to have a quick hook. I don't think you want Montas going more than 4 innings, it's that 3rd time through that gets him. I will say I trust DL Hall and Aaron Ashby to get 9 outs or so more than anyone currently in our rotation.
  7. Well at least everyone can get to bed early.
  8. I don't know how this fits into the conversation, but I feel like the trade deadline has evolved over the years. The trade deadline used to be wild. Teams would give up top prospects for rentals, even relievers, to try to go big. Now it's a much more conservative market. Even the most aggressive buyers realize the value of the cost controlled aspects of their prospects and younger players and are much stingier about selling those assets. As a result the deadline seems less exciting than 5-10 years ago with few big names being acquired. Unless you're a big fish like the Dodgers or Yankees. Then you can basically just have a guy like Jack Flaherty for reasons I don't really understand..
  9. Sonny Gray definitely a couple Julys.
  10. Of course, but the issue is you get far enough down like they are right now where catching a team like the caliber of the Phillies or Dodgers just becomes really unlikely. So you can either coast to the end these last few weeks and focus on rest and health going into your WC matchup or you can exhaust all your efforts going for that bye all the way til it isn't mathematically possible and probably end up having to play in that WC round anyway.
  11. MLF just said in his press conference that the door is still open for Jordan to possibly play on Sunday. Maybe he's just being coy and I would expect Willis to start but it definitely looks to me like it's trending to be shorter term than we had feared.
  12. 12 years was not enough time for him to get used to it? Someone better make sure he knows about the 2 point conversion.
  13. I would guess that's what he meant when he said special circumstance.
  14. Postseason Roster Rules & Eligibility | Glossary | MLB.com WWW.MLB.COM The Official Site of Major League Baseball According to MLB's website, he is correct.
  15. Packers lost - Check Bears won - Check Vikings won - Check Lions won - Check Love injured- Check That's uh, one hell of a lousy week 1.
  16. Is Collinsworth drunk? He just went on about how the Lions will play it safe in OT in the red zone and maybe kick the FG on 3rd down, only to be reminded by his colleague that they need a TD to ice the game. So then he sheepishly admitted that the Lions need a TD on this drive.
  17. The Packers are anticipating the shorter end of the timeline.
  18. Too far out now after the penalty I think.
  19. Before you laugh at the Browns for giving Deshaun Watson 230 million dollars of guaranteed money, be sure to remember first that they also gave up three 1st round picks for the privilege of paying him that money.
  20. Hope everybody is ready for a full week of "Bear Down" and "We dem boyz".
  21. Yeah they have Dalvin Cook, too. Great backfield as long as the year is 2019.
  22. Zeke actually looks good. Watson still looks like the worst contract in NFL history.
  23. Bo Nix discovering that apparently playing in the NFL in real games against NFL starters is not quite the exact same as playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers in preseason.
  24. If you replayed this entire game with no commentary and just a sad trombone playing in the background it would make a lot more sense.
  25. Even a lefty specialist in today's MLB has to be at least serviceable at getting righties out. At least on a competitive team. The LOOGY is dead. The modern rules have made them antiquated, particularly the 3 batter minimum. You can't afford to carry a lefty specialist that serves no other purpose.
