  1. Yelich down to a .676 OPS. .700 watch wasn’t even that long ago. There is no bottom in sight.
  2. Hey Brewers — we also have some minor league players with a ton of homeruns this year. Maybe…maybe we could try this too?
  3. No one was calling for Joey to sit for Turang when he came up. Only after he grounded out. And no one would have said a thing about it if he came through. I am often critical of Murphy and I really don’t have a problem with him giving his hottest hitter a shot with the game on the line. I really wouldn’t have had a huge stink if Turang bats there either but if the tiebreaker was figuring out how they were going to field 9 in the event of tying or taking the league I don’t have a problem with the decision.
  4. 1. I’d have to go back and watch again because maybe I didn’t see it accurately in real time, but even if that’s the case, unless you can advance on complete defensive indifference where you’re not even being held on, I hate the call. You always still run the risk of oversliding the bag even if the play isn’t close. 2. If you make an out on the bases with the tying run at the plate down 3-1 in the 9th, and then Yelich or Contreras puts one in the seats and makes it 3-2 and that’s the score you lose by, it’s going to be one of the most criticized and second guessed decisions of the entire season.
  5. OPS on our “designated hitter” is down to .680. He is never even getting back north of .700 this season.
  6. 1) he was not safe by “6 feet” 2) even if it wasn’t a bang bang play, it’s still terrible process and risk in that situation.
  7. Joey is OPSing like 1.000 the last month. He’s literally been the hottest hitter on the team. This board is up in arms every time Hamilton gets a start over him. And now we’re upset that he got a shot with the bases loaded and the game on the line?
  8. Yeah I mean it sucks but the process was fine. You have to take a pitch to start that AB. The pitch he swung at was fine. Just didn’t hit it to a hole.
  9. Bae nearly got thrown out at 2nd stealing. If you get thrown out at 2nd stealing trying to stay out of the double play in the 9th inning when your run doesn’t even matter and then Yelich hits a HR to cut it to 3-2, that is all-time embarrassing aggression.
  10. Why would you pinch run for a guy that isn’t even the tying or go-ahead run? Why would he even be running ?
  11. Another putrid offensive performance tonight. That AB by Sanchez is a top candidate for worst at-bat of the season, and that is saying something.
  12. If Murph told Sanchez before that at-bat “go up there and make me look as smart as possible for sticking with Contreras”, Gary definitely succeeded.
  13. That ball was smoked. With Uribe on the shelf, there’s just no one besides Megill that you feel great about in the pen.
  14. Not looking good today, but no matter what happens a split is looking very doable this series which I think we all would have considered a success coming into L.A, At this point the standings are what they are and I’m not going to concern myself too much with it whether we lead by 2 or 3 or 4 or even fall behind. We will have plenty of chances one on one yet against the Cubs to pull ahead and they’ll have the same chance against us. We will see what happens but we need to get healthy between now and then.
  15. Unfortunately, “fine” pitching doesn’t usually win for us the way we are swinging the bats. We need “perfect.”
  16. Hard to be mad at Gasser. Just a number 6 starter pitching like a number 4 against a great lineup. You don’t get wins with 1 run.
  17. Sure ran ourselves out of that inning in a hurry.
  18. Yes. I was really excited for where he was at not long ago. It’s been a frustrating mystery.
