    Fastball/changeup type guy. Deceptive fastball that plays faster than it is because of their respective release points.

    He just strikes me as someone who has reached a point where he needs a change of scenery, a new perspective from a different hitting coach, etc. If Arnold can get cash, a low level lottery ticket, anything at all, I think it would be a good thing for both sides. My only guess on Lara is with him being 21 and possibly having a bright future in Milwaukee they don’t want him coming up here to take on a minor role right now and would rather him continue playing every day in Nashville.

    Bauers in LF and Chourio in CF was the (correct) call. I cannot really justify Perkins in the lineup at all. I can’t really justify him on the roster given the guys knocking on the door in Nashville, but that’s a different conversation.

    1 day rest is pretty aggressive even for the Cy Young era.

    Tongue in cheek conspiracy theory: maybe we just throw teams a Collins plus Mears for Zerpa from time to time to keep them coming back to the table.

    Contreras and Gasser are still products of the original JJ Hardy trade tree. Which would have possibly ended at Zach Wheeler if the Mets didn’t back out of the Carlos Gomez trade.

    The Ruiz trade made no sense (in our favor) at the time, I remember most of us being flabbergasted at the time and thinking we must be giving up more, and it looks even more lopsided in hindsight. I still cannot understand how we got Contreras plus (Payamps?) for Ruiz. Seemed like the deal was primarily between the Braves and A’s and we somehow snuck in there and grabbed a couple things.

    When you just watch your team get bent over by your rival and all you can do is manage a pitiful “Green Bay sucks” chant.

    I concede that there are times when he can still get hot and carry the offense but I’m always shocked how bad someone as experienced and accomplished as Yelich is can look at the plate when he’s at his worst.

    It must be incredibly frustrating to have to go up against Miz and then the very next night you just have to turn around and go against Harrison. I’m glad we wouldn’t know.

    I’ve noticed that too and I’ve been trying to reconcile how that can be because he has a .591 OPS and his defense certainly hasn’t passed the eye test. Never heard of someone having a starter level WAR just from baserunning skills.

    I even kind of thought he was a tool when he was a Packer. Though I appreciate everything he did for the organization.

    Nitpicking with the way things have been going but Mitchell batting ahead of Bauers just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Anyway, he came through with the big 2 out hit anyway!

    I couldn’t tell in real time, I’d have to go back and look. My first thought when it got by was that Hamilton was going to score.

    If he’s not going to bench him for acting like a piece of crap in the White Sox series he’s certainly not going to bench him for an error.

    PCA is one of those guys that you only like him if he’s on your team. Like a Ryan Braun.

    I’m not really educated enough on the Cubs to say who has had it worse with injuries or anything like that. I think on our side we could also kind of see the writing on the wall that Woodruff was going to be a shell of his former self. Not sure that we really expected him to accept his QO. If your argument is that the Brewers are a more well-run organization than the Cubs and able to sustain the hits better with their organizational depth, I certainly won’t argue otherwise.

    I’ll be fair here and note that the Cubs have had their fair share of injuries, particularly in the pitching department. Cade Horton was the really big one.

    I’m surprised we aren’t really discussing at all the very real possibility that the Cubs’ grounds crew manipulated the mound last night to give Miz trouble with his landing because of his height. Not saying they did anything against the rules. Just typical Cubs’ stuff.

    No I get it. It’s far from an egregious move, Plus if he’s going to be in that role primarily … a 3 run lead is the “safest” time to get him a shot again. It’s not like he put Gasser in there to try closing it out. It may not have been my first choice but no matter what happened, it was a defensible move, I grant that. I think I’m just particularly high on Patrick as a high leverage bullpen arm.
