    I guess my speculative answer to this would be they simply don’t have any better available options, so I would guess they’re going to be waiting until Pratt is ready. If late July rolls around and they’re in clear buy mode, Ortiz is still completely unplayable and Pratt just looks overmatched at AAA, I could see a small move for some rental infielder. But even if that comes to fruition, it’s months out.

    It’s why he’s the MVP of the team and I don’t think it’s close. We may never know how much of a difference he makes for the pitching staff.

    That’s gutting out a series as much as you’ll ever see. We’re not back on track, but I’ll take it for now. Sproat’s performance is probably more exciting than the win itself… if he can put it together …(his stuff does play, that’s for sure), this rotation could be much deeper than expected, especially when Priester returns.

    I know that you’re a smarter poster than using a tiny sample size of an outdated stat to determine a players’ MLB roster worthiness. Lockridge is 29 years old and has 209 big league plate appearances. Half have been with us. He has almost 2500 minor league PAs. He is the very definition of a minor league journeyman. He’s gotten some opportunities here because of injuries and guys like Perkins suddenly falling off a cliff. On a healthy, good MLB roster, he’s not a regular 4th outfielder.

    A mediocre 12 foot bunt may be Joey’s best offensive play of the season right there.

    Jones had a good bunt. Hamilton’s was a little better.

    Yeah, I like the system. It’s not perfect but at least gives the hitter, catcher and pitcher some recourse to fix bad calls instead of just arguing about them. It’s not very disruptive to the game IMO.

    Yeah, I just don’t really agree at all. Where was he before we traded for him last year? The minors. Pre August 2025 Blake Perkins was a 4th OF type. Had Perkins not somehow turned into a complete pumpkin since then, Lockridge would still be behind him. He's a replacement level player with a career OPS that would make Joey Ortiz blush. His defense and baserunning are passable enough for him play at this level if injuries necessitate it. He’s not a 4th outfielder that a contending team shouldn’t be actively looking to replace.

    agreed with most of this but Lockridge, for all intents and purposes, is a minor league level talent masquerading as an MLB player.

    Completely agree, dude deserves a shot. It’s not like there’s a lot of upside in the guys ahead of him.

    Well they better get started then, it’s already the 4th inning.

    This lineup is horrific for any era. Keep in mind that Patrick Corbin was on his couch without a job two weeks ago.

    Lockridge leading off is about as unserious as you can get setting a lineup.
