  1. Peralta allowed a two-run homer to Josh Vitters in the 4th, but struck out two more. Anundsen walked the leadoff batter in the 7th and then the next guy reached on a sac bunt attempt, but Anundsen struck out the next three batters swinging. Neither a hit nor an error has been posted for the bunt attempt.
  2. Six K's through three for Peralta now.
  3. Anundsen struggling a bit, but still with a nice 6/1/5 K/BB/H in six innings. He had the sinker going early, but the GO/AO is now even at 6/6. Peralta's perfect through two innings with four strikeouts, ready to assume the mantle of the best right-handed (and perhaps best, period) pitching prospect in the system. Huntsville's game has no box score despite the fact that it's supposed to have been underway for 40 minutes now. Maybe they're trying to find Taylor Green.
  4. Garrett Sherrill has a partially torn UCL. He'll be shut down at least through July, and might be done for the year.
  5. Definitely. Hardy+Salome is a hell of a package to dangle to an AL team (or even an NL team that believe's in Salome's defensive tools) for a pitcher.
  6. Here's a direct quote from a recent Money audio link:
  7. I wonder where Heri Olivo is. Along with Andres Martinez, he received the highest bonus of anyone the Brewers signed last year ($225K).
  8. Angel Salome made the "In the Team Photo" section this week:
  9. Well, I guess "may creep back" is better than nothing.
  10. At least he's not getting hit particularly hard, nor has his walk rate spiked, so maybe he'll figure it out. His ratios are still better than Dillard's.
  11. Stang is signing his contract Friday morning.
  12. Nashville's game was called after five and a half innings because of rain, with Chris Cody taking the 4-0 loss; he didn't pitch particularly well, while Dodgers prospect Scott Elbert handcuffed the Sounds. Arizona lost 8-5. Mike Brownstein went 3-4 with a walk and continues to overwhelm the AZL, as he's now hitting .643/.762/.857 with seven walks and no strikeouts in his four-game career.
  13. Yeah, it will be interesting to see how they handle him and Garfield (Garfield DH'd tonight). Too bad Zarraga didn't work out at Wisconsin.
  14. Helena loses the shutout and Andre Lamontagne a save in his first pro appearance after Derrick McPhearson lost a pop fly in the lights that would have been the last out. That was the second of three straight singles Lamontagne allowed with two down.
  15. Haha, check. Double steal. That's four steals for McPhearson and nine for Prince. Lambertus was lambasted in his first inning, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk.
  16. Josh Prince walks to get on base for the 9th straight plate appearance. McPhearson needs to steal third so Prince can steal second.
  17. Though he failed to hit a grand slam or indeed homer at all (what a bum), Wooten also had a successful AA debut, striking out two and allowing a hit to lock down the victory. Continuing his perfect night and hot start, McPhearson just doubled in Hitaniel Arias, who'd a moment earlier just notched his first safety of the year.
  18. The box score appears to be calling this a SB for now. Nevermind, I just lost track of how many times Prince had been up. He stole a base after walked in the third. Krestalude is still in there in the 6th, much to Steve Wendt's amazement. EDIT: Six shutout innings for Krestalude. Very impressive. He sounded like he was strong as ever in the 6th and flashed a great changeup.
  19. He walked two but struck out two more in the second without allowing another run. He's done after two; Pedro Lambertus relieved him, so I guess his suspension is indeed over. Good to see Shawn Zarraga in the lineup for Helena for the first time, particularly because he's catching.
  20. Ooh, Josh Prince got caught stealing in the first inning. They're catching on.
  21. Damon Krestalude allowed two singles in the first inning but has set down 11 in a row now subsequently.
  22. Uh wow, really? I was just going to post that he'd worked a perfect 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout, but yours trumps mine. 1.2 perfect innings now with three strikeouts. Glad he wasn't too tired from his home run trot.
  23. Yeah, and two strikeouts for the Brewers in their half of the first, too. Franklin Romero has now struck out in 8/18 PAs.
