  1. Not sure Rickie could have thrown that ball to home any worse than he did.
  2. Gotta go with Aoki. Also, please take pictures, if you can change Villanueva unto Maldonado I would be very impressed.
  3. The MLB and MLBPA agreed to modify the joint drug agreement http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/07/mlb-mlbpa-announce-modifications-to-joint-drug-agreement/ Included modifications include: Modifying the Collection Procedures of the Program to clarify when collectors must deliver specimens to the courier, and how specimens should be stored prior to delivery to the courier. Obviously this is in direct response to Braun's case. Its funny, I'm not sure why this would be necessary if the collector did everything correct as he and the MLB claim.
  4. I think Brooks Conrad forgot that he had a glove there for a moment I can't remember seeing a player attempt to grab a grounder like that with his bare hand. Hopefully A-Ram is healthy and playing tomorrow.
  5. Its hard to get upset for sitting Gomez against a RHP when he has consistently struggled against them in the past.
  6. When Jordan retired he was asked if he would ever come back and play to which he responded, " Five years down the road, if the urge comes back, if the Bulls will have me, if David Stern lets me back in the league, I may come back." Gamblers gamble on things that they know well. if a professional athlete has a gambling problem, like Jordan had/has and like Rose had, you can bet (no pun intended) that they are betting on the sport they play in.
  7. Its hard to understand why people are so against Pete Rose because he gambled yet so many worship Michael Jordan who was seen gambling in Atlantic City during the Eastern Conference finals in 1993 and then suddenly retired 4 months later when he was only 30 years old.
  8. As a player he should be in. Pete Rose the player and Peter Rose the manager are separate and there is no proof that I am aware of that he gambled as a player. However, he should still be banned from MLB events. It's hypocrisy for the HOF to profit off Pete Rose's career by charging the public to see his memorabilia housed there but to then take the "high road" by claiming his gambling doesn't make him worthy of enshrinement. Either remove his stuff completely from the HOF or let him in.
  9. I was just going to ask when was the last time Aoki hit the ball hard and then he triples.
  10. Well on the bright side we are only down 2 after the Giant's first which is better than yesterday...
  11. This matchup is exactly what I was talking about when I asked in the 1st base solutions thread if Lucroy could play 1st. Not that I am mad that Hart is in there but Luc is so hot right now. Also, I am thrilled where Gomez is batting tonight (not 2nd) I think he will have a good game tonight.
  12. If Lawrie doesn't act like a complete jerk there is no problem either. It seems the umpire got mad because some rookie basically showed him up after the strike 2 call where he walked very slowly back to the plate and was practically staring at the ump the whole time. While it may have been a ball, calls like that happen every day and after seeing Lawrie's reaction to the strike 2 call, I knew if the next pitch was even remotely close to a strike, which is stretching it on the last pitch, he was going to get rung up. I'm not saying the ump was right to do it but I could see it coming because of Lawrie's actions.
  13. Yikes that will be a couple games for Brett. That is about as close as a person could come to intentionally hitting an umpire with a helmet off of a bounce. He practically threw it right at him.
  14. If you need more excuses to hate ESPN I present this videohttp://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7932478/second-juror-dismissed-roger-clemens-trial-falling-asleep-jury-includes-8-females-4-males TJ Quinn somehow is able to transition from a discussion about a juror dismissed from the Clemens case to more Braun bashing, naming anonymous MLB players who are still angry that the "got off", and basically supporting the decision of MLB to fire Das. Seriously TJ, its over, Braun won, give it up. I know you were hoping for him to get suspended so you could pat yourself on the back even more about the big story you broke but you sound like a tool for continually rehashing this story.
