  1. How I feel after a home loss to the Pirates: http://pmcmovieline.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/tommy-lee-jones-golden-globes.gif?w=630

  3. http://cdn.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/football-in-the-groin.gif How I've felt while watching the Brewers this month.
  4. The last game Yo went 8 innings or more was August 16 2011.
  5. I loved the fact they brought back Meredith's bratty kid from season 2 as a male stripper. I also enjoyed the Ryan and Kelly part.
  6. I think part of the reason Lucroy's struggles have been overlooked is because Maldonado has been even worse than Luc this year at the plate. If Maldonado was hitting anywhere close to what he did last year you would be hearing more people clamoring for Martin to get more playing time. However right now the alternative isn't an attractive option. Boy remember last year when Luc and Maldonado hit a combined .297 compared to the .209 they are sitting at now.
  7. Rosiak says Green to 60 day DL, and Lalli sent down. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/207609951.html
  8. I hope so if only for the reason that he will be starting on a regular basis in the minors and won't be further screwed up by how RR would use him if he stayed in Milwaukee.
  9. You absolutely correct, we don't know 100% that he did infact shop Lawrie around at all, but we also don't know that he didn't. I wasn't the one making that type of statement though. I initially asked if there was any proof to his claim that Melvin failed to shop Lawrie to any other teams and all I received back was some quote which proved nothing. We don't know much about the process at all outside of the fact that Lawrie was traded to Toronto and that a couple of GM's didn't know he was on the market. However, none of this proves anything which is why it was extremely foolish to bash Melvin about how he traded Lawrie without knowing more information.
  10. The quote from your article says: The Shaun Marcum-Brett Lawrie was met with some surprise in the lobby of the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin resort by a handful of rival executives who didn’t know Lawrie was available. You then said: How you took the fact a few execs did not know Lawrie was on the market to mean that Doug did not shop Lawrie around at all is baffling. I'll say it again, Lawrie was only getting traded for an established starter to help the team win that season. Not every team had what Melvin was looking for in a starter as a return, so why would he waste his time to call them up and tell them Lawrie was available? The Pirates had garbage for starting pitching that year, do you really should Melvin have called them up? The same thing goes with the Mariners, outside of Felix who was basically untouchable. I'm sure if you look at the rosters of the teams that year you can find several other teams who either were in contention and therefore were not trading their starting pitching or had garbage that wasn't worth trading Lawrie for. So I am not surprised whatsoever that a few teams didn't know Lawrie was on the market. I'm sure not every executive knew Greinke was available either before we traded for him but that doesn't mean Kansas City didn't shop him around to a couple of teams they felt they matched up well with before selecting the Brewer's offer.
  11. If that is the quote you are basing your statement off of that is a giant leap to make. A handful of anonymous executives being surprised Lawrie was on the market hardly means that Melvin didn't shop him around at all, which is the assertion you made. First, I doubt GM's call every single team before trading a player. Secondly, we have no idea what teams those executives represented. They could have very likely worked for teams that didn't match up personnel wise with what Doug was looking for. Not every team in the league had a Shaun Marcum type player on the market that off-season and even fewer might have had a need for someone to play second base.
  12. Do you know this as fact or is this just speculation? Unless there is some quote from Doug Melvin out there where he said "Toronto was the only team that I called about their pitching" I have a hard time believing your statement to be true. I've read on more than one occasion that Anthopoulos was after Lawrie for quite a while which means Doug had the flexibility to shop Lawrie around to other teams before circling back around to Toronto as a fallback.
  13. So here is a fun way to waste some time. This website has archived scouting reports on players from at least the 50's. Aaron, Mantle, Yount, etc. http://scouts.baseballhall.org/ My favorite so far was on a Brewer fan favorite Gary Sheffield from 1991: Lot of ability wasted. Has all the qualities to be a bonifide ML player. Can do alot of things. Above aver. runner ; above aver. arm. Has plus power. Has trouble with management in one phase or another. Simply self-destructs. If he grows up some day he will be an asset to any ball club. Too much physical ability to ignore
  14. Mickey Mantle game-used corked bat up for auction. http://greyflannelauctions.wordpress.com/2013/04/23/lot-76-1964-mickey-mantle-ny-yankees-game-used-corked-bat-with-x-ray/ Kick him out of the Hall of Fame!
  15. As long as your rental agreement allows you to smoke on the property then I would keep doing it. This may have to do more with the fact that your neighbor quit smoking and the smell is making it tough to remain an ex-smoker. However, if this is really the case your neighbor could fix it by simply closing the window whenever you smoke and not make you walk a block to enjoy something that you have the legal right to do on your own property. I feel for you though, neighbors can be completely irrational.
  16. I can remember watching a Cub's telecast a few years back where Bob Brenly was adamant that the because the Brewers were hitting the ball well they must be stealing signs. I can't stand this argument. IMO doing so is nothing more than the loud whine of a team or fan-base who can't accept the fact their team performed poorly and use it to rationalize a poor performance. It's easier for the Pirates and their fans to say "the Brewers stole our signs" than "Wow our pitching sucks." I may be wrong but I can't recall ever hearing a Brewer player, manager, coach or broadcaster complaining in public that the other team was stealing the Brewer's signs.
  17. Aramis possibly playing tomorrow. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130430&content_id=46245142&notebook_id=46245492&vkey=notebook_mil&c_id=mil It's too bad for him that he has been Wally Pipped by Yuni. . .
  18. The most imporatant part of this has been overlooked but was brought up by Will Carroll on twitter Amazing how facts that go against the storyline get ignored. Looks like Bosch backing Braun's story despite saying he's owed money still. So actually Bosch has no reason to go with Braun's story whatsoever while actually having motivation to spite Braun. Unless, as someone previously mentioned, he was paid off by Braun to do so. However, considering how Bosch has handed his paperwork and invoices in the past, I highly doubt Braun's team is dumb enough to approach Bosch for something like that. Edit: Wow actual coverage on this angle by the NY Daily news http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/i-team/bosch-pumps-braun-defense-article-1.1330861
  19. Handwritten document vaguely references Braun = headline. Biogensis director corroborates Braun's claim = buried at the bottom of the story. Don't worry I'm sure ESPN's many "anonymous sources" will soon come back out of the woodwork and make additional claims to refute this new info.
  20. So you asked a question when you already knew the answer?
  21. Why do you think Segura can't hit .300 in the majors? It's not like he was a career .270 hitter in the minors, the kid hit .313 over 6 seasons.
