  1. Switch Lucroy with Yuni and I would have no complaints about this lineup.
  2. 2B Rickie Weeks CF Carlos Gomez LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee RF Corey Hart SS Yuniesky Betancourt C Jonathan Lucroy RHP Shaun Marcum
  3. Lucroy is quickly becoming one of my favorite Brewers. I love the fact we finally have a young and overall solid catcher.
  4. Is it wrong that I would rather have Nyjer play with a broken finger than having to endure Kotsay in CF? Isn't Hart more qualified than Kotsay to play center?
  5. I have no problem with the base-runners being aggressive, I have a huge problem with them displaying a complete lack of common sense. There was no logical reason for Lucroy to make that decision. That is on the him, not RR.
  6. So you are blaming RR for Lucroy making a bad decision on the base-paths after a hit? Tough crowd.
  7. Weeks looked so over matched in that AB. Looked like the 1st pitch was a ball too.
  8. Watching the Cardinal's feed on MLB tv. The one announcer is gushing about how great the Cardinal fans are because they respect the opposing players. Might be hitting the mute button soon.
  9. I'm following the game on MLB Gameday and I really like their new setup with the background of the home park and the computer image of the batter at the plate. But it always cracks me up when Prince is up and the image is of a left-handed batter that looks like he weighs about 190lbs.
  10. Pearl fired by Tennessee today. Link Not a surprise given his troubles in the NCAA and his thumping in the tournament. I have a feeling he won't be unemployed for long though.
  11. I don't agree about Wainwright resigning. This is not the same situation as Sheets. Wainwright has been healthy for the last 4+ years he has been in the rotation. Someone who can afford the injury risk (Yankees) will give him a multiyear deal. If St. Louis only wants to give him one year or throw a low number at him like they did with Pujols someone will else will sign him. Pitching is at such a premium right now teams will look past this injury, especially since it is his first.
  12. I bet the Cards are regretting letting Suppan go. This is probably the only situation where I am not sure if the previous statement should be in blue or not. Tough loss for St. Louis though. As much as i dislike the Cardinals its tough not to appreciate a great pitcher like Wainwright.
  13. I don't think he is being a jerk at all. He gave them a steal of a deal with his extension, now he wants them to return the favor and pay what he is worth. That isn't being a jerk. Also, what else is he supposed to say, "I want my money and I don't care if we aren't competitive anymore." He has made two demands, 1)$$$$$ 2) Be competitive. He is just being up front and honest to the Cards. If the Cardinals can't meet both of his demands, they are better off letting him walk. I'm sure Prince, CC, and probably Grienke when the time comes, has said or will say the exact same thing to the Brewers.
  14. This is getting quite interesting. I have read that the Cards and Pujols are very far apart in negotiations with the Cards only offering 7 years instead of the 10 he has asked for. If he hits free agency you have to think someone else will give him what he wants.
  15. Signed for $3.95 million. Good to hear. Would have hated to go to arbitration with a guy who hasn't even thrown a pitch yet for the Crew.
  16. One of the things that struck me the most about the initial video was the genuine remorse he shows when he mentions his past drug and alcohol abuse. Also when I heard his voice for the first time I thought it was fake. These are the types of stories that I love and that guy who did the initial report must feel so good that he helped to turn this man's life around.
  17. Platoon. My father was in the the same infantry division (25th) in Vietnam as the group in the movie. He recently passed so I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it again.
  18. Heyman tweeted that Greinke rejected a trade to the Nationals but approved the Brewers. Take that D.C.!!
  19. What is great is that Greinke is now represented by the same agency as Braun and Hart. Maybe that had a factor in Melvin doing this deal too. There is no way I see Melvin giving up this much for Greinke if he is represented by Boras.
  20. You may want to adjust the title to "How about a 3-team deal with Prince." I can't be the only one whose mind immediately went in the gutter while reading this, unless this was intentional.
  21. It seems that the Yankees were plan C for Lee. According to the Rangers Lee would have signed with them if they offered seven years guaranteed. Their final offer was 6 years and $138 million with a 7th year vesting option. This had to be a difficult decision for the Rangers to make.
  22. Huh?? Anyway, I was a little underwhelmed with the hire at first, but I am hoping for the best. I do like what I am hearing from his old players and co-workers. I am just excited for a fresh start.
