Hmm....Denmark....Luxembourg...are you counting Germantown or Hollandtown? Norway is in Michigan, right? Yay for geography questions.

After having my car hit by a runaway cart in the parking lot last year, I guess my biggest gripe are those that don't put away their carts (as was mentioned previously). It's funny that express lanes were brought up though. I know it depends on the individual store, but it seems "express lanes" have gone from 5 item limit, to 10 items, to 12, to 20 items. I guess I didn't really realize 20 items is still considered "express". I forget where I was recently but they even had a SUPER EXPRESS lane for 5 items or less, which was different from their regular 20 item express lane. What gets me are all the different lanes you now have available....sometimes I feel shady going through the "family" lane by myself...is this just a new way of saying "candy-less"? Did kids pick up on this and they had to switch it to "family"? One other thing that bothers me....overly chatty cashiers...maybe I'm just a grump, but I don't think so. I mean, I'm friendly to cashiers, I'm polite, say please and thank you, and give a quick smile....but that doesn't mean I want to hear them comment on every item that I buy, or volunteer information about themselves. Ugh, one more thing. I suppose I don't want cashiers to get fired or anything like this, but I was recently at a store and the person's item in front of me rang up at 2.19 instead of 2.09, which is what the customer thought it should be. The cashier got on the phone, called the department, and we waited....and waited...for her to describe the item and the size, and brand, and color, etc. Finally, the person on the other end found the item and said it was indeed on sale for 2.09. We had to have waited at least 2 minutes for this to take place. Maybe not all stores give their cashiers this power, but when I worked at Osco Drug in high school (maybe that's why now they're out of business), we were told to just take the customers word, as long as it was within reason and they seemed genuine about it and give the customer the item at the price they thought it was. We were able to just punch the price in manually. Smiling and apologizing and ringing up the item for 10 to 30 cents less, even if 90% of the time the customer just made an honest mistake and mis-read the price, made for great customer service and kept customers coming back. Besides, it's not like the customer wasn't already paying 2 or 3 dollars more than store cost for it anyways, who cares if we lose a couple extra cents profit on the item, the point was to keep them coming back.

What really happened in the dugout between Prince and Manny
parkside21 replied to nate82's topic in Off-Topic Forum
Obviously, Prince thought the last pitch that he hit would be a home run. But Manny insisted that it was "too high". -
Bikeage, I have a couple extras if you can't work something out with Zing. GoldGlove....PM me and let me know how much you are looking to get?

Hardy alternate pinstripe ft/fs
parkside21 replied to Hart Of Milwaukee's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Damn...I went with a group of 8 and none of us were able to get an alternate, so I'm desperately looking for one...(or alternate Braun or Bill Hall for that matter) I have a Yovani Gallardo signed ROMLB that I got from him at a game earlier this year....any interest? (I also have a ROMLB from last year signed by both Damian Miller and Tony Graffanino, if for some reason you still have mancrushes on them) -
Did anyone see the Cuban Tae Kwon Do athlete kick the referee in the face after he disagreed with his decision? Yikes...I know nothing about the sport, but a lifetime ban is forthcoming I would assume? You can find not-so-great quality videos of it on YouTube, some with announcers and some without.

I think I'm about halfway to completing my bobblehead collection (not counting all the minor league bobbles, which I'm sure I'll never keep up with). I am still looking for the following bobbles. The ones that I already HAVE are in RED....and the ones that I NEED in BLACK. I don't have a lot to trade, but I'll list what I have anyways. I'd rather trade, but if you are asking a reasonable price, I suppose I could pay cash for a few too. Let me know if you can help out. (I live in Appleton, so some might have to be shipped). This is funny. I hadn't checked this forum in like a month and while watching the game the other night, I knew something was missing, finally I realized what it was. I didn't recognize the guy in the blurry camera view behind a right handed hitter. I realized The Doorman was not in attendance. I thought surely the world had fallen off it's axis. Thankfully I noticed this thread today.....I can go on living in normality now. By the way, great story on Lou.

I have four tickets for the Brewers vs. Orioles game on Saturday, June 21st, 6:05pm. The seats are in Terrace Reserved, Section 416, Row 13, Seats 9-12. They are part of my ticket package and I had planned on going, but it looks like I'll be out of town that weekend. Face is $14 a piece (I think, plus fees). I'll also throw in a PREFERRED parking pass. I'm asking $55...pretty firm, because I'm also trying to buy a new car, http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif For what it's worth, the giveaway is a Brewers/Miller Lite hat. I'll also consider any interesting bobblehead trades. Message me or leave something here. Josh

Two Tickets - June 14th, Brewers vs. Twins - $25 for pair
parkside21 replied to parkside21's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Uecker, I sent you an email. -
Looking to sell two tickets for next week Saturday's game against the Twins (June 14th, 6:05). Two people backed out on me, so I have two extras that I can't really use. They are Terrace Reserved, Section 416, Row 13, Seats 11 and 12. Face is $19 (I think)...I'm looking to get $25 for the pair....or any interesting bobblehead trades. Josh

While I don't own one, I know they sell them at Kohl's (at least I saw them there a couple weeks ago for 25% off), which may be cheaper than the Pro Shop or MLB.com or wherever you're ordering it from. I like the dark grey color (I think they also had some sort of blue), but they seemed a little too "shiny" for me.

I know there are a lot of bars downtown that used to run a bus during the regular season, I would assume they might do it for the playoffs as well? I don't know exact prices, but I think the fliers I remember seeing ran around 20 or 25 a person (which includes beer and soda on the bus I think....some may include food, I dunno). My first suggestion would be to check with both locations of The Bar (meetatthebar.com), Checkered Flag in Kimberly, Capital Centre on Capital Drive, you can try Anduzzi's downtown too. I'm sure there are many other downtown locations that I am forgetting too, along with a lot of smaller neighborhood bars.....The Wooden Nickel maybe? Just do a bar search on Yahoo! Yellow Pages and start calling. Let us know if you find one.
-
That's what I'm thinking too, about renting BioShock....it actually looks like a very cool game, but probably something that can be beat over X-mas break or something, so I'll probably just go the way of renting. Thanks for the game recs.
-
So, what is the difference in the warranties then?
-
Doesn't the warranty come standard on it? Microsoft extended the manufacturers warranty to three years, correct? Sgtcluels, were you referring to the store specific warranty that basically everywhere offers now for an add on 30 bucks or whatever?
-
So, the 20gb 360 is backwards compatible? I wasn't sure, since it seems only the uber expensive version of the PS3 is backwards compatible...
