    So now we are going to get the number 2,3 and 7th ranked prospect AND Beckham for a year and a half of Fielder? Unless Kenny Williams is stupid (Which actually it could be possible) I have a hard time buying this as well.

    Not really. Weeks leads in WAR just over Fielder and Gallardo with 3.0 vs 2.8 and 2.9 (so if you add in Gallardo's bat he moves ahead). Hart is at 2.5 due to his lower OBP. Hart really isn't up there. Now Hart has been the biggest (positive) surprise no doubt. If you go by WAR then sure its Weeks.

    A couple things from this post. 1. There is no way we would get Hudson/Beckham/Holmberg/Viciedo for Fielder and Bush. Based on BA rankings. We would be getting the White Sox number 3,7 and 8 ranked prospects. And Beckham was the number 1 ranked prospect for them 2 years ago and is 23. No way Kenny Williams would do that. 2. McGehee does not play his position well. He is a terrible 3rd baseman. He is a 1st baseman but does not hit well enough to stick at 1st. We should of sold high on him, but if we still can that would be great. IMO, we have seen McGehee's best days as a major league hitter. 3. Beckham is not a super-utility guy. He is way to talented to only be a super utility guy. At one point he was ranked a Top 20 prospect in baseball. He destroyed minor league pitching for 2 years. He struggled mightly to begin the year but has since started to find his stroke. Once he adjust he is going to be killing the ball, while playing above avg. defense wherever he plays. The kid is a stud.

    This whole "Gamel OPS'd over .800 when he started everyday at 3rd" thing is a pretty poor argument. Macha had to pick between McGehee and Gamel. He picked McGehee. McGehee went on to post a line of .301/.360/.499. Macha made a good choice. However, it was Melvin who needed to see that Gamel was not playing and send him back down. I hated seeing Gamel sit on the bench everyday. When your a 23/24 year old prospect you need to be playing everyday somewhere. Oh and that being said, I still think Gamel will be the better player, but to act like Macha "ruined" him is just not correct IMO.

    I think it may be time to end the Narveson in the rotation idea. However its not like we have that many better options.

    I guess I mean the act of getting 0 hits itself doesn't impress me. I mean someone who goes 9 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 10 K had a more impressive game than a 9 IP, 0 H, 4 BB, 5 K game. The hits themselves just aren't that big of a deal in that type of line. In this scenario if you are assuming these are there final line, players A (9ip 4h 0bb 10K) has a better chance to give up more runs then players B (9ip 0h 4bb 5k).

    Not that it matters but the D-Backs just gift wrapped a game for the Cards in the 9th. 2 errors including a 2 run error in the 9th to score hte game winning runs.

    Casey McGehee should never ever steal. That HAD to be a miss sign.

    I don't feel bad at all. Just because he asked for time doesn't mean he gets it. Wait until you hear the ump say time and then leave the batters box.
