  1. It's not just self checkout, they do it for the main lines when it gets busy. By pre scanning they do make it faster in some instances because you get up there, swipe, pay and roll out. I'm not sure it's always faster because if a cart is full and/or you have a lot of smaller items they have to move them around, try to scan, keep track of items etc. which can make it slower. It would make it a lot faster if the scanners had a credit card receiver and small printer. You still have to stay in line and wait for cashier to complete transaction.
  2. Ravens nix the Crosby trade then pivot to Hendrickson on 4 year, $112M deal.
  3. With free agency about to start and a few trades queued up there is no better time than now to start the discussion for the 2026 season.
  4. They could tey. And would Willis go there? Far too many other teams that are in the QB market with better organizations/chance to win. Just off the top of my head he could be an option in Pittsburgh, LA Rams, Arizona, Miami, Indianapolis. Jets, Cleveland and maybe even Minnesota may be in the running too, but I'm not going to Jets if I can go to the top 5. Jets are 😍 baby better off stacking up support pieces and then going all in on QB next year to put into a better stacked team.
  5. And the same team has three first round picks next year AND likely picking near the top. May have just kicked that can a year.
  6. I gave up on Amazon Prime last year and haven't noticed a big difference. We have an Amazon distribution warehouse like 5 miles from my house and quite a few of the items I was getting were coming in past the two day shipping. I also scratch my head at USPS because our mail seems to go through Birmingham (hour and 45 mins away) even when sending letters in the neighborhood or city. So we send a letter, it goes to Birmingham and then comes back to Madison, AL two-three days later. I would have assumed they have a mail processing center in Huntsville at a minimum.
  7. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/injured/_/year/2025 I didn't verify numbers or method, but a quick search had something to start the discussion.
  8. Artificial. I bought ta really nice, realistic tree once I got out of the army and wasn't dragging my belongings with me all the time. Bought it post Christmas on a mega sale and been going strong for 11 years now. I trim it completely and we make it an event with the kids. I play christmas music and we reminisce about the memories of the ornaments and where we got them. We make it a habit to get an ornament from our major travel trips each year, do the annual family picture ornament and have accumulated some nice German ornaments over the year for the cultural tie in with my wife being German. Growing up we did a real tree one time and never again. Such a hassle to acquire, install and upkeep. I also much prefer to see the trees growing in nature instead of a one time use being cut down and drying out in my living room. Thankfully we have not had many mishaps. Our little cat made a run up the tree her first year, but she is so small nothing happened. The commotion that came with getting her out probably scarred her from doing it again, even though she does love hanging out under it.
  9. Happy with that. Will be even more happy if they worked out a deal. At least one elite tool, check. Hopefully he can stick at 3rd
  10. I loved looking at the band list again. Thanks for sharing an awesome memory Jim.
  11. I don't follow the MLB draft nearly as much as the NFL, so I can't reasonably say who I would like. I'm with you, give me tools. Give me top of the draft hit, fastball, power, something big. Jace Laviollette keeps standing out to me as an option. Easy to hope on enough contact to make that power dangerous. With the way the Brewers draft, I'm fully in I believe mode and can't wait to see who we tab.
  12. I like the earlier draft in the past so players could get to rookie ball in the same year. Is the draft during the ASG really a draw? I would imagine the people that tune in would be the same crowd at any time. They should be smarter about it and embrace the actual spectacle. Conduct draft early then have the top draftees show up to the ASG for some type of festivity: skills comp, hr derby, show off for host team by having the day 1 picks for that team in the stadium and signing. Just holding the draft is pretty weak IMHO.
  13. Something else to consider is the transfer of 529 accounts to Roth IRA for unused funds. "Beginning in 2024, unused funds from a 529 plan can be rolled over to a Roth IRA for the beneficiary, without penalty or tax implications, under the SECURE 2.0 Act. This rollover is limited to a lifetime total of $35,000 per beneficiary".
  14. I'm with you about AI in some areas. I'm planning a few trips and whenever I come across an AI voiced video on YouTube, I have to immediately stop and block that site. It also doesn't help that I'm generally not only interested in the repeated top 10 lists. I want the local options and hidden gems. Don't send me to crowds.
  15. This is a good gripe. I have had this connection at Charlotte a couple of times and rolled with booking it because it was the cheaper option. Every time we have arrived early and got to the next gate in plenty of time. I know there is usually buffer placed on routes to cover any delays and to make passengers feel better since they arrive early. I wonder if there is some of that psychological manipulation going on.
  16. I fully concur with hating Ohare. That is easily the top airport I avoid at all costs. I find your opinion of American interesting because my experiences would be the opposite. I think American is one of my top choices. Being in the South, American and Delta are my main options. Delta used to be my go to, but their value dropped hard and their seats are worse than other airlines (outside of extreme budget planes). Being 6'4, 240 the options outside of first class are never good and I just suck it up.
  17. Let's bring this back to current investments please. While I'm down for interesting discussions like this, the temperature is a little high and veering a little too political for the intent of the forum.
  18. Im not sure on Tyrone Tracy. He has been a nice surprise, but I'm not sold on him long term. And being on a Giants team that may be resetting at QB/HC/GM? Too many questions marks to go all in on, but if you already have him then it's a cheap option to hold on to for now.
  19. I love dynasty and will not go back to a redraft format again. I have been playing as a co-manager in my current league for 6 years and it's great. And since it's a dynasty league, we are active all year with trades and draft talk. Highly recommend it to anyone that likes fantasy, but make sure you get active managers that know what they are doing and committed.
  20. I also like the different take on the OC. I liked that they used the normal boats that do tours on the seine. Nice touch to include everyday Paris in it I thought the biggest downside was the water horse and how long it was out there. I get they were emptying athletes from the boats and getting them into the stadium, but just keeping the shot on the horse for what felt like 30 mins was overkill. Then another long stretch on the torch where they are taking it on the river. I would have cut away to some crowd shots just to break up the single shot on these legs. And please have your crew wipe off the camera lens in between cuts too. They probably also had too many people on the last leg of the torch. Even my 7 year old was mocking them. How many more handoffs can they get in? Loved the balloon cauldron. Celine crushed her set. A bit long overall on the OC, but enjoyable.
  21. I'll come in and also vouch for Bad Boys and Beverly Hills Cop - Axel F. Bad Boys - Ride or Die is easily my favorite of the series and had many scenes where I was laughing out loud.
  22. That's funny. After the games had started, my wife told me she filled out a bracket at her work. She does not watch, follow or know anything about college basketball. I asked her who she picked: Wisconsin (my college) over Auburn (her college) in the title game. Well at least she played.
  23. I think there are two types that retire abroad. Those that planned it out and prepared and those that dreamed. Visiting a place on vacation does not usually give you the feeling of how it's like to live in a place on the day-to-day. I've known quite a few that did their research, visited for long periods of time and then prepared either by buying property and/or getting everything setup before arrival. Those are the people that stick it out. I've also known the early retirees that take off and basically move to a location like it's vacation. Those are the ones that quickly get homesick because they soon realize the comforts they don't have and/or ease of finding their niche. If you're going to go abroad, research and prepare to include long stays living in that locale. Don't just pickup and move to a place because it's the new hot spot.
  24. Carolinas #1 in 2024 belongs to Chicago thanks to the Bryce Young trade. So either #2 in 2024 or #1 in 2025 are your top options.
