  1. Well I still think the crew could use Paara's shoulder surgery as an excuse to keep Narverson around a month or so. Hopefully giving hiim April & some of May to show his wears. Hopefully Suppan will have too much pride to accept a mop up duty role. And the crew can figure out someway to trade him & save a little money.
  2. Who do you all think will win the 5th spot in the rotation. I got a feeling Narveson will perform better in ST & Parra will go to the DL to work against AAA/AA guys & build shoulder strength.
  3. Meche had some injuries last year if healthy he'd be the crew's 2nd best pitcher. Hart is a hacker every month he reminds me more of Bill Hall & his decline. Trading him now why he still has some value makes sense. I bet Gerut/Edmonds could out produce him this year. Hart's skill set doesn't tell me he was getting unlucky last year. Swinging at sliders a foot off the plate.
  4. brewers couldn't afford Guillen wiith Meche even with of Suppan involved. Brett Myers got around 5. Bet Suppan could get a bit under. Suppan, Hart & Salome for Meche even then I question if Bush would have to be traded as well.
  5. It was a orginial a 5 yr 56 Million dollar deal. 2010 & 2011 are 12 Million each.
  6. Kelly, that ignores the 24 Million they dump with Meche. - Hart around 4M = 20 Million saved(2010-2011). Crew couldn't do it without getting some cash back or getting some of Suppan's contract off the books.
  7. Well that & the fact mid-season hauls are hard with good not great talent. Hard for teams to plug all the wholes losing thru a trade. It would be a sell high thou depending how much much money is dumped. That's near a 20 Million cash dump.
  8. Scratch Bedard looks like he's going back to Seattle
  9. When does MLB usually announce the hearing dates for these players?
  10. Or he gets hurt & gets stuck with nothing. With healthy Meche they win 73 without 66. What did the Tribe get for Lee at the deadline, Braves for Tex, CC for the tribe. Hart & Salome is pretty decent value. Meche is good, but not elite. Too many factors to expect a big haul on him. Of course Dayton Moore has ignored logic before.
  11. Could try Hart & Salome for Meche. And try to encourage Suppan out the door & take a paycut ro remain a starter somewhere else. San Fran, the Nats, KC
  12. Bedard is looking like a all-star break signing. Is he worth a MLB contract & huge incentive deal?
  13. Saving 10 Million on Meche isn't a good reason? Suppan may have negative value, but Guillen has less than him. Suppan would probably get around 3 to 4 Million on the open market. Gullien would get a minor league deal.
  14. Gotcha Wizhead, understood. Lowell is not a fit in Milwaukee. Brewers have decent to elite options at the corners. But even I think Suppan would have to be included for the crew to get a deal done from a financial end. KC would probably want Parra & somehow get Guillen to Milwaukee. That would be an overpay while Meche & DeJesus are good they certainly don't deserve that much value.
  15. I'd have Parra start the year on the DL get him some time to face AAA batters & keep Narverson around longer. Meche if healthy in the NL would probably be around a 3.5 era guy who K's a lot of folks. I guess that's giving Hart away:)
  16. Hart, Suppan, for Meche or Hart, Salome, Suppan, for DeJesus, & Meche. Takes away depth, but does it take away quality depth? The question would be Meche's health. And if McGhee could learn RF passable enough vs. lefties or go the (Thames, Gomes route) Lets Bush, Narverson, Parra compete for 5th spot.
  17. You are basically describing Wellemeyer in the last part of your post there. Wellemeyer is not a good starter if he wanted to be a reliever sure I could see the Brewers taking a chance on him but not as a starter. Parra and even Narveson have bigger upside than Wellemeyer does and I doubt Wellemeyer will have a better year than what Suppan will put up for the Brewers. The Brewers already have a Wellemeyer on the team and his name is Jeff Suppan there is no need for another Wasn't any need for the 1sthttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  18. Worth a small major league deal or not. Of course he's worth a minor league invite, but I'm sure he can get that just about anywhere. Would be competition for Parra, & Narverson. Yes I omit Suppan. Don't care what his stats say. Similar to Bill Hall the eye ball test says he's done. Unless he gains a tick on his fastball & his off-spead stuff finds the low outside corner with regularity.
  19. Wellmeyer is still out there. Wonder if he would sign a minor league deal. He's got a good arm. Maybe Peterson can get him to throw strikes.
  20. Send Suppan & 7 Million to San Fran for Fred Lewis
  21. If that's the plan they should grab a RH now. While there are so many decent ones that are cheap. Plus this could create chaos in the locker room. Go ahead & do the dang deal or don't. Waiting around just causes trouble.
  22. Is Corey now in a platoon. 4.5 Million seems a lot of RH part of a platoon. The edmonds signing seems weird to me.
  23. Indians trying to move him to afford Orlando Hudson. Would cost concerns eliminate the crew as a trade partner? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/MLB-offseason-buzz-012010
