  1. If true. Things in the OF have gotten interesting.
  2. Sounds liike Smoltz miht wait tell mid-year to sign. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/mets/2010/01/smoltz-could-borrow-pedros-scr.html
  3. Smoltz is still out there. He doesn't seem to keen on signing with the Mets. And the cards seem to be done adding pitchers with Rich Hill. He's probably a better bet than Bedard to give above average inngs.
  4. Probably comparing himself to Jay Werth & Hunter Pence. What's payroll sitting at without Hart signed?
  5. Mets are a house divided. The left hand truly does not know what the right hand is doing. Maybe they'll target Harang?
  6. Garland's a West Coast guy. The fathers need someone to eat up inngs so it makes sense. Probably around what Davis got
  7. no terms yet http://twitter.com/followthepadres/statuses/8252956103
  8. Trading for him for a playoff run would be a disaster.
  9. 10 Million is to high. Better trade him in late May/ early June.
  10. Agree 3K, if Maine can be had for a package of (RP + medicore prospect) I'd do it.
  11. Yeah but last year in 08 his walk rate was still pretty high & Edwin had never shown consitentance. Why Tampa Bay was willing to deal him. Plus their overewelmming depth of young arms
  12. I'm hope Bedard is looking at things from the long-term. Do I sign some place that will give me the most money now or go to the team that gives me the best chance to recover my value & cash in next year.
  13. People said the same thing about Edwin Jackson last year. Maine previous 3 yrs 06-08 stats cannot be ignored. He's a decent gamble if he comes cheap enough. He's had some shoulder's issues hence the rough 09 & why the Mets may deal him. I wouldn't give Hart for him, because the crew can't replace Hart like they did Hardy. Depends what prospect & reliever could get him.
  14. Greinke isn't on the market. No package the crew could offer would get him. If the Mets grab two FA starters. Milwaukee will try to add Maine & then Bedard. With Bush or Suppan being moved out for cost concerns.
  15. I'm guessing Bedard is on the radar
  16. Doug said at they back in November we wil need to take some chances. So far none of the signings have been a real gamble yet. I guess u could see Wolf as a gamble, but I don't
  17. Suppan buy-out or renegotiation ala Andruw Jones for a trade. Nats or Padres could use him if he was cheaper.
  18. I could see Villy & Salome for Maine & Pagan.
  19. Could trade for someone. Mets are in love with Smoltz & Sheets. Have traded pitcher compete with Bush & Suppan. Loser gets cut or traded
  20. if /when Weeks goes down McGee slides to 2nd.
  21. I thought I read best case scenario early June.
  22. With this signing estimated payroll is somewhere near 84-85 Million mark. How does the insurance on Riske work with his 4.5 Million. He won't be ready by opening day, but is it an all or nothing proposition? Say he can't pitch until September. Do the crew get a partial payment? Does rehab time counts as playing time coming off a major surgery?
  23. trade for John Maine or Kevin Correria. Dump Suppan. Lets Bush & Parra fight it out
  24. Ennder Suppan is trending toward Bill Hall territory. Telling Suppan he has to earn his spot in November/December is telling.
  25. Probably shortly after the Nats declined offering him a deal
