    I've been a few times but not since the early 2010s. Traffic to get there is a nightmare. Buy parking in their garage. The area immediately around the stadium has literally nothing. There is a lot of good Cuban food 5-10 min away on SW 8th St. ("Calle Ocho"). Versailles is the place that the tourists go to. There will be next to nobody at the actual game. More Brewers fans than Marlins fans most likely. Inside the stadium itself is actually decent. At least back in the day they had a lot of local food options. Nobody cared that we moved to good seats in the middle of the game. You of all people will of course want to check out the bobblehead museum.

    This isn't hard, just make them share their TV revenue. They make more than all 14 teams with local rights controlled by MLB combined. It takes 2 teams to play a baseball game, why should they keep all the revenue unless they are scrimmaging against themselves?

    Here you go, my first vibe coded baseball analysis! After seeing on reddit that walk rates have significantly increased in 2026, I was curious if shorter players are benefitting more from ABS or not. It seemed like the Brewers also had a preference for short players based on recent personnel decisions, so maybe they were anticipating a benefit from ABS. It turns out that shorter players do strike out less than taller players, but those trends are consistent across 2025 and 2026. So the answer is no, it appears that players of all heights are both walking more and striking out more. Top panel uses the full 2025 season, bottom panel is just through April 15. And here's the player height distribution for reference: This analysis took me about 30 minutes despite having zero previous knowledge on what baseball player/stat databases look like. The initial vibe-coded analysis was also wrong (I cross-referenced league average BB and K rates online as a sanity check), I had to yell at Copilot to do the binning properly and after that it seems to be correct.

    This is exciting news. Hopefully it is the first step to firing Fickell. A couple of poor performances with the soft schedule should be enough.

    Yep, they were 25-28 last year and 6.5 games out of first. It's not great to be staring down a similar first 1-2 months in 2026, but management will be on their way to another set of trophies if they can right the ship again.

    We scored 3 or less runs in 5/15 games. The #1 offense in MLB, the Dodgers, has scored 3 or less runs in 5/16 games. The definition of a boom/bust offense is the #3 ranked Houston Astros. They have scored 2 or less runs in 6/17 games and 6 or more in 10 of the other 11 games they have played.

    It's a real shame that nuclear wasn't done safely the first time, it set us back at least 50 years.

    The thing about trading known entities for unproven players is that the trade will always look bad in the short term. In the long run we'll be better off. Except, perhaps, in the case of Caleb Durbin. Maybe he'll wake up, but it's pretty ugly right now.

    Well more CO2 equals warmer planet. Even the crude climate models from the 90s have done a decent job of predicting where we are now. Of course we're not all gonna die, but someone has to pay to deal with the water shortages, fires, sea level rise, extreme weather, etc. etc. It ain't cheap. That's why it bugs me to hear these concerns about renewables. You're not wrong about the recycling concerns, but I just don't see it as anywhere close to a reason to pump the breaks on solar/wind. It seems so minor and so solvable with a little investment compared with the elephant in the room. I have no idea what your point is with the second part of this comment, I didn't bring up greenwashing but it is a thing.

    I think my stretch dream of cruising through the regular season has failed, but overall they have been pretty solid, sitting 8-7 despite a bunch of injuries and they remain ahead of the Cubs. I disagree somewhat with the other comments, the offense is doing great and the issue is mostly on the pitching/defense side. Offense: 5th in MLB in runs/game, 5th in OPS. Amazing given no Chourio, Vaughn + others with injuries. Likely to remain top-5 moving forward IMO. Pitching: Mediocre at best. Both starters and bullpen are around league average. The rotation is not covering enough innings, lasting 4 2/3 on average, a full inning less than the top rotations in the league. The performance of our high leverage bullpen arms is also of concern. Defense: not as good as expected. We need to be near the top of the league in defense for our formula to work -- we need our pitchers to overperform FIP, not underperform it. Projection going forward -- I'm most concerned about pitching. We're depending on a lot of 'project guys' with high ceilings to cover innings right now. We need them to improve sooner rather than later if we're going to go anywhere. Given how good the offense is, I still think 85-90 wins is the floor.

    If they can recycle almost everything from automobiles they can recycle wind turbines and solar panels. This barely registers as a concern. The planet is literally burning because of all the CO2 we’re dumping into the atmosphere. The solar panels on my house are still going to be there in 25 years, by then we might be at 2C of warming. The same was said about LI batteries…so many excuses why it wasn’t a viable mass technology. Turns out the car batteries just get repurposed to store wind/solar and they can last for decades, it ended up solving the main problem with wind/solar.

    I’ve gone to a few PWHL games in Seattle. The quality of play is pretty good. Attendance has been higher than I thought it would be, they are consistently getting >15,000 lately. There doesn’t seem to be much overlap with the NHL fanbase.
