    Today was a ~10% swing in divisional winning odds. Cubs started the day at 13% with a chance to get to ~18% with a win, instead they are at 8% now. They had 7% odds at the start of the series, so they gained essentially nothing.

    Exactly. Counsell is hyper competitive. He didn't think Milwaukee had the resources to win it all. And he's clearly bothered by losing to the Brewers. Personally I don't hate the guy, I just think the whole situation is poetic justice. Hopefully we'll get our trophy and Counsell will eventually come back to Wisconsin with his tail between his legs after winning jack squat with the Cubs.

    The part I didn't like was acting surprised when everyone in Wisconsin got upset about going to the Cubs. You don't defect to a rival and expect to return home to cheers. You could have gone to like 5 other interested teams, still gotten paid, and returned home to a standing ovation. In the meantime, Counsell left Horton in too long after his blister/nail was clearly a problem.

    I would say they are slumping right now. They played so poorly that they almost lost a game.

    PCA has a .293 OBP. 1st percentile chase % 3rd percentile walk rate 60th percentile bat speed --- Putting that aside, the Cubs haven't even choked. They basically treaded water, playing .500 ball for two months while losing 15 games in the standings to their rival.
