  1. Somewhat off topic, but there have been 10 HR in the first 6 innings of the Reds/Pirates game. Currently 7-7 in a rain delay, top of 7th.
  2. If we lose, I hope we at least get to see Wang tonight.
  3. Because they have no idea what Bob Davidson thinks they are!
  4. Glad the Cards didn't challenge that. Overbay caught Ramirez by surprise.
  5. I have mixed feelings about the retros, but I do think the post-2000 logo has run its course. It's been around for 15 years with few changes. The alternate gold jersey is the only major addition. Overall it's a very average logo (both the baseball and the hat logo). The blue home jerseys with the white pants look the best. I would like to see them change logos for the 15-year anniversary of Miller Park next year. The ball-and-glove logo should be on the hats full time. I do think they should retain the current colors and maintain a retro look with the old colors. They could try and make a new primary logo--or perhaps come up with several ideas and have a fan vote.
  6. The Boston announcers had the opposite tone. They repeatedly talked about how it was the Brewers' aggressiveness that resulted in success. Even by that point the Brewers were around 25th in MLB in walks. They are currently 27th in walks and last in the NL. Then again, last year the Brewers finished dead last (30th in MLB) in walks. So I admit that maybe it isn't a new coaching decision. Obviously I don't have any proof, but it can't be a coincidence that every hitter in the lineup has been swinging away at 0-0, 0-1, and 1-0 counts. It's easy for the coaches to tell the hitters to take pitches on those counts--which obviously isn't happening.
  7. If the Brewers win today, it will be their first 9-game winning streak since...2013. Although that did occur before the Braun stuff and injuries caused the team to implode. At this point if they can just go .500 the rest of the way they will probably get a wild card or be close to it.
  8. Gameday just said strikeout, but then nothing happened for 3 minutes so I figured the Pirates screwed something up.
  9. It was clearly a strategic coaching plan not to take walks this year. It's working for now, but pitchers will adjust so they will have to get more patient eventually.
  10. They double-switched Weeks out of the game, so Smith can finish the game.
  11. I know the Phillies suck, but this is just incredible right now.
  12. Well you can buy MLB.tv or the audio, or do some hunting on the Internet...
  13. Just checked the box score--looks like Braun is feeling better. Uecker is doing some road trips but not others--especially west coast trips.
  14. A road sweep is always huge. It isn't easy. I think it helps to have a veteran team. They are not intimidated by Fenway or playing on the road. They are talented enough to win games. It's nice to have young players with high upside, but we really know what we are getting with this team. The issue is that I worry about them fading later in the year and they really can't afford to sustain any injuries to position players. But I wouldn't be surprised to see them stay above .500, at least in the first half of the year.
  15. I don't think Braun's thumb is causing him to whiff at curveballs in the dirt.
  16. Fernandez is becoming a star in Miami. The game was nearly a sellout last night.
  17. Both the AZ and the KY game could have gone either way. Ouch.
  18. Thank you Brewers, that will make the Badgers loss much easier to get over.
