  1. ESPN playoff odds are at a season high. 87.7% right now--even higher if the Cards lose.
  2. Maybe I was watching a different game, but Yo looked unimpressive in the 8th and he was almost at 100 pitches. We need our starters to be sharp in October also. K-Rod looked fine. Ron made the right decision.
  3. Would have been nice to see both starters go the distance. Old school baseball. I'm fine with K-Rod coming in. Gallardo gave up some hard hit balls last inning. The last thing we want is K-Rod coming in with runners on.
  4. Thanks for the stats, Topper. They still had about a 10% chance of winning before the 8th inning rally.
  5. Thank you Jamey Wright!!!! Edit: Vin Scully: "Jamey is not quite Wright tonight..." YES!!!
  6. Going on weeknights is the key to avoiding annoying people. Very few kids and drunks in the ballpark and usually enough empty seats to move around. However, if you're trying to take a family or live away from Milwaukee it's virtually impossible to get there. I'm at the point in life where I have trouble watching baseball on TV (computer). It's too long and boring and the pace gets slower every year with less and less offense. At the ballpark there is at least something to look at or someone to talk to. But who can blame people for looking at their phones or getting out of their seats when a low-scoring game is taking over 3 hours?
  7. The Orioles are really good. Not sure what it says about the Cards, but it's nice to see their new pitching get knocked around.
  8. Big opportunity to pick up a game on the Cards tonight. Lopsided score in Baltimore.
  9. You guys have done a nice job convincing me that the Cubs are a serious threat. I'm now very concerned. Thanks :-)
  10. Thanks for the info, I didn't realize they had invested so much into player development. They will clearly have some good players coming up through the system and significant resources available for making big signings. There is no doubt they will contend. That being said, the Ricketts have not yet shown whether they will sign a $200+ million contract that will propel them from division to WS contenders. They are smart not to do it now, but the fans are still flocking to Wrigley Field to see a last place team. How much incentive do they really have to take a big chunk out of their profits--especially when they are spending so much money improving Wrigley Field?
  11. Yes, and it looked like the Brewers would be one of those teams. Until Thornburg went down, KRod came back down to earth and Smith turned into a LOGGY. Flying under the radar during all this was Ryan Braun morphing into Kevin Mench. It used to be that you wanted to get the starter out of the game as early as possible. Now if you are losing when the starter leaves, the game's likely over.
  12. Does every team have like 3 relievers with sub-2.0 ERA this year?
