  1. I do. I don't think he's doing it consciously. I don't think DM or RR are very good at their jobs. That doesn't mean I don't think they are doing the best they can.
  2. From AAA on another team to hitting behind Prince Fielder in the 5 hole. Hooray DM and RR!
  3. Where I come from we call that funny. Still needs more seasoning in AAA, IMO. Is his OPS even 1.100 yet?
  4. I think he's just a tough SOB. He wanted nothing to do with putting any weight on it.
  5. It looked like an extremely bad roll. He was lunging forward to stretch for the bag while going full speed. I'd be surprised if there isn't a break.
  6. There are way too many balls in that bag for this trade to be fair for ATL.
  7. I agree with many others. If you are going to call a guy safe when the ball beats him by that much it better be 99.9% clear to you that the tag was missed. The benefit of the doubt goes to the defender to a huge degree in a case like this. I'm guessing Meals was just fatigued since the game had gone on so long.
  8. Provided we make the playoffs, do you think it will be possible to hear the collective laughter of America when they show the numbers for Counsell when we use him as important PH in a big game?
  9. Casey's range extends about as far as his reach if he were to fall over.
  10. Same could be said right here at Miller Park though. Let's face it, we are not a good looking fanbase.Yep. The saying, "Don't throw glasses at stone houses" applies. There are obscenities much worse than Nyjer's gesture in all ballparks on a daily basis. She looks about 14. You must be getting really old. If you gave me a guess and I had to be within 2 years, I'd guess 25.
  11. You place the blame for walks against guys like Counsell and Carroll on the pitchers even though you think the Counsell's and Carroll's of the world are awful hitters. Why would pitchers walk these guys? You can't just blame it on a lack of control since solid OBP guys with little power also draw walks against the best pitchers in the game.
  12. I'd prefer my 7th and 8th hitters to limit the amounts of outs they make so my better hitters can get more ABs. It is also nice when your worst hitters are still able to work the count so that starting pitchers have to waste pitches on them and the team can more often face relievers. Am I suddenly back in the 80's?
  13. Intentional or not it was an "up yours" gesture. It can be considered an obscene gesture. Maybe you don't, but others do.Fat people in tank tops are much more obscene than what Nyjer did and you can't look anywhere in the ballpark in SF without seeing that..
  14. Is your point that because the White Sox have made idiotic decisions it is alright that the Brewers have?
  15. Gamel as the main platoon guy would have been interesting. It bothers me we never had him learn some corner OF. He could have had a role on the team this year even with Hart generally being the everyday RF.
  16. It is a problem if the necessity is created due to his own incompetence.
  17. I doubt he's forgotten how to take a walk at age 31.
  18. That is right, RR. All players called up from AAA will struggle.
  19. Just look at our team. With the changes in our pitching staff, how much do career numbers against the Brewers matter at all? Even if a guy killed us 2 years ago it has no real bearing on how he'll do against our current staff.
  20. I'd rather have him than McGehee if Green is not an option due to organizational hatred.
  21. I think we need to give McGehee a couple more seasons to snap out of his slump.
  22. What does this have to do with my question?
  23. How is Betemit only "marginally better" than the McGehee of this year?
  24. You think Green could "probably do the same as Casey"? You don't think Green could post an OPS better than .577 and likely be better defensively as well?
  25. FWIW, we are tied for the lead with the Angels for most outs made on the base paths (excluding pickoffs, CS, and force plays).
