  1. freddy peralta played catch for the first time today since going on the injured list.
  2. hoby milner has an option remaining entering 2022 spring training. does that keep him on the 40-man roster?
  3. adrian houser has been activated from the special covid-19 injured list and has returned to the 40-man roster. to make room on the 40-man, daniel vogelbach has been transferred to the 60-day injured list. the roster is at 40 players, with one player on the covid-19 injured list.
  4. daniel vogelbach has been transferred to the 60-day injured list, removing him from the 40-man roster.
  5. miguel sánchez has been optioned to class aaa nashville. if he spends more than 20 days on optional assignment, he will burn his first option.
  6. eric yardley has been optioned to class aaa nashville.
  7. the club currently has 20 position players and 20 pitchers on the 40-man roster. they seem to tend to carry more pitchers, so i'm thinking that tim lopes is the dfa candidate today when adrian houser is activated.
  8. after viewing his mri, team officials estimate that taylor will miss three to four weeks.
  9. the brewers have placed tyrone taylor on the 10-day injured list.
  10. eric yardley has been recalled from class aaa nashville.
  11. the brewers expect to place tyrone taylor on the injured list for an oblique injury.
  12. 415 plate appearances in 122 team games played. conceivable to get 85 more plate appearances in the next 40 games? barring injury, seems like a lock, which will turn the 2022 option into a mutual option.
  13. daniel vogelbach has started a new rehab assignment with class aaa nashville. it can last up to 20 days.
  14. hoby milner has been recalled from class aaa nashville.
  15. looks like adrian houser will start sunday.
  16. phil bickford had already burned his second option when the brewers tried to outright him to the minor leagues. any team who claimed him could've optioned him again at any point this year, and he still wouldn't be out of options.
  17. adrian houser has rejoined the club and is ramping up to be activated. expect it to take some time.
  18. legitimate foot injury for daniel vogelbach.
  19. keston hiura has been activated from the special covid-19 injured list and has returned to the 40-man roster. he remains on optional assignment with class aaa nashville. to make room on the 40-man, kyle lobstein has been designated for assignment. the brewers have seven days to release or try to outright him to the minors. if he clears outright waivers, he reserves the right to refuse the minor league assignment and become a free agent. the roster is at 40 players, with two players on the covid-19 injured list.
  20. keston hiura has been activated from the special covid-19 injured list and returns to the 40-man roster. he remains on optional assignment with class aaa nashville.
  21. kyle lobstein has been designated for assignment. the brewers have seven days to release or try to outright him to the minors. if he clears outright waivers, he reserves the right to refuse the minor league assignment and become a free agent.
  22. advantage with the class aaa season being extended into october, is that optioned players can stay sharp. yes, there would be a requisite 10 days down for any optioned player, but it might be advantageous for the brewers to mix up the pitchers in the 10 games against st. louis in september.
  23. daniel vogelbach was a "super 2" player last offseason. he avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $1.4 million contract. this offseason will be second of four years of salary arbitration.
  24. note that by nature of being placed on the covid-19 injured list as a close contact, jandel gustave was not vaccinated at the time--which likely contributed to the severity of his symptoms when he later tested positive. this likely cost him time on the active roster, because it's going to take longer for him to regain strength.
  25. jandel gustave was so weak from his covid ordeal, he could only do single pushups. he is throwing now.
