  1. rule change for all-star game roster construction for each league's team . . .
  2. obviously a lot of pressure on jonathan davis to stay healthy, as he's the only true center fielder on the active roster. hopefully, he plays smart and avoids crashing into walls.
  3. the brewers haven't had five catchers on their 40-man in-season since . . . last season. but prior to that, you had to go all the way back to 2009 for the last time the brewers were carrying five catchers in-season.
  4. jason alexander has been named tuesday's starter (would have been adrian houser's turn in the rotation).
  5. with the 40-man roster at capacity, luis perdomo is looking more and more likely to be the next guy transferred to the 60-day injured list.
  6. i believe that taylor is only the third brewer to be placed on the 7-day concussion list, joining erick almonte (the very first placement in mlb, in 2011) and daniel robertson (2021).
  7. pedro severino has been reinstated, returning him to the 40-man roster. if he remains on the 40-man through game 162 and the brewers reach the postseason, presumably severino will be placed on the restricted list again, which would open up a 40-man spot. if postseason eligibility rules haven't changed with the new collective bargaining agreement, the brewers may be able to petition the commissioner's office to add any player who was in the organization at 11:59 pm on 31 august to their 40-man and be postseason eligible. the 40-man roster is at capacity.
  8. pedro severino has been reinstated from the restricted list. he is finally eligible to make his brewers debut.
  9. trevor kelley has been optioned to class aaa nashville. it is his third optional assignment since 2 may.
  10. aaron ashby will get the start today.
  11. i wouldn't be surprised if he's only up for a day, as things are pointing towards aaron ashby being activated tomorrow.
  12. trevor kelley has been recalled from class aaa nashville.
  13. brice turang's isolated power is a measly .071. but when you consider his .277 batting average and .331 on-base percentage, he looks somewhat promising for a utility role.
  14. another friendly reminder . . . thanks!
  15. with jason alexander throwing 2.0 innings tonight, seems unlikely that he'd be in line to start saturday.
  16. with only three games left to play on his rehab assignment, the slash line of .118 / .118 / .176 and a strikeout rate of 35.3% with nashville isn't helping. unfortunately, the strong showing with biloxi didn't carry over.
  17. to clarify, jace peterson will be eligible for free agency at the conclusion of the 2022 world series.
