  1. angel perdomo has his contract selected from class aaa san antonio. he enters 2020 spring training with three minor league options. the roster is at 32.
  2. the brewers activated the club's option for manny pina. tyler austin and cory spangenberg were outrighted to the minor leagues and they elected free agency. matt albers, gio gonzalez, yasmani grandal (decline of mutual option), jay jackson, jordan lyles, mike moustakas (decline of mutual option), and drew pomeranz all elected free agency. the roster is at 31 players.
  3. link to your source, please? my understanding was the requisite stay on optional assignment was increasing from 10 to 15 days only for pitchers, with the requisite stay for position players remaining at 10 days. also, i believe that the 10-day injured list is being replaced by the 15-day injured list--increasing the requisite number of days off the active roster. no word on how far back a club can retroactively start the injured list stint.
  4. the deadline to protect players from the 2019 rule draft by adding them to the 40-man roster is 20 november.
  5. deolis guerra has his contract selected again by the brewers. he is out of minor league options, and has been outrighted to the minor leagues before. the roster is at capacity, with two players (corey knebel and bobby wahl) on the 60-day injured list.
  6. Thanks, I completely missed that part of the rule. i haven't seen anything making the 13 pitcher limit official. i know that it's been recommended, but i have yet to see a formal decision announced.
  7. bear in mind that rosters expand to 26 next season, with a probable cap of 13 for pitchers. perez has a shot.
  8. if the brewers don't want him back, i bet jackson is regretting this deal. any team could have claimed him (with three options intact) earlier this year, but passed. without the non-tender clause, jackson likely remains on the club's 40-man at least through spring training. i'm thinking that the brewers will make him an offer.
  9. How does Jackson's contract supercede major league rules regarding FA? Jackson isn't even eligible for arbitration until 2022. i'm going to guess that he had some leverage in playing overseas for a number of years, just as eric thames had in negotiating his contract with the brewers (i.e. thames can declare free agency next year even though he won't have six years of major league service).
  10. apparently, jackson's contract allowed him to become a free agent at the end of the 2019 season, regardless of whether or not he was on his club's 40-man roster. with three options intact, jackson will be attractive to many teams.
  11. jeff suppan and anthony swarzak had pillow issues.
  12. gotta add josh hader to the mix as super two.
  13. no to hernan perez and no to tyler saladino. absolute yes to cory spangenberg as the 26th man. versatile and fast. he is out of options, however.
  14. how about dealing with real grief and having a section devoted to the crane collapse and the tragic loss of lives?
  15. the days of the 25-man roster are gone next year. there's room.
  16. travis shaw has an option remaining. it's very likely that the brewers will sign him to a split contract with a more generous minor league salary than that of similar age players.
  17. raise your hand if you had the brewers going with 15 position players and only 10 pitchers for the wild card game.
  18. it's looking very likely that christian yelich will win his second consecutive national league batting title.
  19. her twitter feed is public again.
  20. jay jackson spent the majority of his time with san antonio on a minor league contract. he spent less than 20 days on optional assignment with san antonio, so he will enter 2020 with three options.
  21. josh hader has 16.55 strikeouts per 9 innings. jay jackson has 14.44, third on the club behind drew pomeranz's 15.26.
  22. a wild card roster should be drastically different from a division series roster. that's why i advocated for separate threads.
  23. wild card game is a 25-man roster. game 163 and anything beyond prior to the wild card game or nlds is a 40-man roster.
  24. since it's all projected, really need to make this three separate threads. wild card game roster (a full starting rotation isn't necessary) nlds roster nlcs roster
