  3. !Que lastima! ¡Mi aerodeslizador es lleno de anguilas!
  4. I thought the pork smell was the porkchop BtA tied around his neck to get the dog to play with him! (hehe) Anyway, glad to see someone looking out fer us yokel inbreds.. Why just the other day, I wuz out in der cornfeeld, when them damn aliens came round again.. Why shoot, home many times has dat been now? Five er six?
  5. I have been getting this same problem for about a week now. I informed BtA about this, he suggested using a different browser, which I have but no luck..Keep getting the "Username does not exist!" error, then a selection of these weird test chatrooms, all in Spanish... HARRUMPH!
  6. Just to clarify, I didn't intend the link to the article to be a testament on his own personal faith, just drawing attention to the author of the article's own perception of Ryan and his relation to other ball players (albeit tenuous in his case) of the Jewish faith.. As I've said here before, my wife is an Executive Assistant to a prominent local rabbi, and he made it quite clear the Ryan is only half Jewish, but I still found the article a nice read as a Brewer fan.. Sorry to cause any problems bringing this up..
  7. Found this article in Salon: Article Link Here is the relevant text (although the rest of the article is worth a read): " As luck would have it, 2007 has been a banner year for Jewish athletes, most notably on the baseball diamond. Ryan Braun, a third baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers, has led the charge, engineering one of the greatest rookie seasons in the history of the game. While most of his teammates have struggled in recent weeks, Braun has kept crushing the ball, keeping the Brewers in the race as they pursue their first division title in 25 years. And yes, Ryan Braun is a member of the tribe (Jewish, not a player for the Cleveland Indians). The great thing about being part of an exclusive group of athletes is that it allows a player to immediately jump to all-time-best status. Braun's meteoric rise has propelled him onto the list of the 18 greatest Jewish baseball players in history." Sorry if this is posted elsewhere... Fixed link - b19
  8. 3TO - Elvis lives! I'm sure there will be many folks round these parts would will be thrilled beyond words at this move.. Not sure how this helps the Cards, but who knows...
  9. New Ty-D-Bowl, now with 40% more cleaning power! Because 50% would just be damn silly... Next thing will be "4 out of 5 Chicago dentists think the Cubs will win the division" .. Blah, blah, blah...Homerneering crapahoola... BTW - Experts agree that Gyros are waaay better that Chee-burgers and Tsatsiki sauce beats ketchup in blind taste tests 50 to 1! Mmmm Gyros...Argggggggg...
  10. Second that.. Well I guess they needed a loud mouthed pitcher on the decline for the playoff push..
  11. They also found one of Rollie Fingers' Fireman of the Year award in the basement.... And according to Matt Vasgersian "the Lindberg baby remains" (<- actual quote, he got into a lot of trouble for that)
  12. Probably pick it up, although the prince of darkness isn't my cup o' chai...
  13. I believe I'll have a beer...Oh wait, it's only 9:30 am... This reminds me of this old Steve Martin bit : ( It's mostly PG rated) "What I Believe." I believe in rainbows and puppy dogs and fairy tales. And I believe in the family - Mom and Dad and Grandma.. and Uncle Tom, who waves his -----. And I believe 8 of the 10 Commandments. And I believe in going to church every Sunday, unless there's a game on. And I believe that sex is one of the most beautiful, wholesome and natural things.. that money can buy. And I believe it's derogatory to refer to a woman's breasts as "boobs", "jugs", "winnebagos" or "golden bozos".. and that you should only refer to them as "hooters". And I believe you should put a woman on a pedestal.. high enough so you can look up her dress. And I believe the United States should let all foreigners in this country, provided they can speak our native language: Apache And I believe in equality, equality for everyone.. no matter how stupid they are, or how much better I am than they are. And, people say I'm crazy for believing this, but I believe that robots are stealing my luggage. And I believe I made a mistake when I bought a 30-story 1-bedroom apartment. And I believe the Battle of the Network Stars should be fought with guns. And I believe that Ronald Reagan can make this country what it once was - an arctic region covered with ice. And, lastly, I believe that of all the evils on this earth, there is nothing worse than the music you're listening to right now. That's what I believe.
  14. I broke my own rules about reading JS Brewer chats because I was bored and because I could script the damn things in my head even before reading a sentence, and I was not disappointed. The guy who trashed Prince for, hello, sticking up for his pitcher (Bush) by saying "I wish fans wouldn't boo" and this clown who wrote the question calls him things like a "punk" and not a leader like "Jeter or SUPPAN". I had to laugh at the complete cluelessness of this comment.. Ugh, I should know better than to put any stock to any of these questions in these chats (present company excepted, of course) but writing crap like "Dear Jim...Well, seasons over" is enough to raise my BP..
  15. Lol... "The hats win the pennant! The Hats win the pennant, the Hats win the pennant!" And don't forget the sausage race started out as a bit of the old CS scoreboard animation..
  16. Meh, I loved CS for the field and nothing more... The narrow concourses, the lack of bathrooms, the scoreboard - all reasons not to miss it.. The damn scoreboard was in fact obsolete from the very first time it was switched on (I'm old enough to remember the one it replaced, now that's nostalgia). In fact, there was one guy who knew how to fix the thing and he lived in Sweden and had to be flown in every time it malfunctioned.. Anyone remember the temp scoreboard they used to haul out when the main one went down? They used part of the old main scorebaord for the MP freeway sign, but it finally went caput and was replaced by the new led board.
  17. I'll Huff and I'll puff and I'll give you Pie! Mmmm Pie....... Agreed, sounds like wishful thinking..
  18. When 900 years you become, look as good you will not! Seriously though, I agree, if he can't hit the fastball anymore, hang em up..
  19. Did he change his delivery? If not, he'll be hurt again, and probably soon.
  20. I'm going to be there on Sunday on the Club level (up the 3rd base line).. I'm frankly a little nervous about being there, I just don't want this to turn into some sort of scrum if he happens to break the record. On BBTN last night they said "they never boo anyone in Milwaukee.. and I was like "Huh? The booed him before he hit 600, for cryin out loud, why not for the damn record?? And did they ever hear when Sheffield comes here"?
  21. If Bonds is 1 away, Selig will be here..
  22. I agree, he's going to do what he has to do, I think Ned cold give a damn about the HR chase and will do what he has to do. That said, he doesn't call for the intentional walk very much anyway, so we may see a few "unintentional, intentional" walks..
  23. Braun is HALF Jewish (on his fathers side). My wife works as an assistant to a Rabbi here in town, and he happens to know the family a bit.
