  1. Two things. 1. Yesterday Yo was "Iron Man" for staying in the game. "Take that, Sheets" etc. Today, it's "let's find a scapegoat, even better if it can somehow be Yost". It was an accident, pure and simple. An accident, which, with the benefit of an MRI, is worse than feared at first. 2. The 1st place St.Louis Cardinals are without their top 2 guys in Carpenter and Mulder and seem to have won a few games without them. This season is NOT over, it's just gonna be a little harder. No amount of "what if's" are going to change the situation. We just have to play the cards we are dealt. ...oh, I thought of another. "Over? Nothing is over until WE decide it is. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
  2. ....and while I'm dreaming, I'd like a pony! Even Cubs GM Hendry isn't enough of a moron to pull the trigger on that trade. He'd be given the Mussolini treatment on a lamppost outside the Cubbie Bear before the ink was even dry!
  3. I loathe and despise the Wave with a passion normally reserved for the Chicken Dance. It is, however, acceptable under one of the following circumstances: 1. You have a Time Machine and it's 1986 again. 2. You have an adorable child sitting behind you with his family, who does the wave with enthusiasm because, according to his mother, "he thinks he's celebrating them scoring touchdowns".
  4. I have the same car now (including the spoiler), but in metallic blue! It's the best car I've ever owned, I love it to pieces and I'm having to sell it, unfortunately. Apparently 18" Powered subwoofers don't fit in it, so I have to find a bigger vehicle. I'm gonna miss it when it goes.
  5. My high school ride was Mr. Left Foot and Mr. Right Foot - next to nobody had their own car to get to school where I'm from. My first car though was a 1986 Ford Escort station wagon - plenty of room to fit DJ gear in! http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e304/BigRedRobbo/escort.jpg
  6. I'm sorry guys, I don't see a strike zone anymore......just boobs!
  7. "Couldn't land his girly punches"! Oh, I most definitely lol'ed. Go Brewers - maybe some shots onto Waveland or Sheffield are what the Crew needs right about now. And Ben, please don't break anymore - it's getting old.
  8. Congrats, dude. You paid your house off by 30, though? Where do you live? In a treehouse? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. The way the offense has failed to show up recently, I'd take a flyer on Kirk Cameron doing better at the plate!
  10. You obviously missed Bruntlett the other day. He booted more balls than Pele and made the Phillies fans even more antsy than they usually are!
  11. A-freakin-MEN I'm already sick of some of the "characters" that seem to appear on this board when the Brewers are losing (or at least not hitting the giddy heights of expectation). I shudder to think how it'll play out nearer September when it's gut-check time. This team, and pretty much every MLB team in history loses 60 games a year. I know it's been a while since the fanbase had anything to root for, and I know our window isn't endless, but come on. This should be a fun ride, but it's a rollercoaster, not a helter skelter.
  12. I'm sorry to see good guys go, and I would have liked a more advanced prospect, but what the hey, "In Doug We Trust", right?
  13. Would that be the same Riske that, according to most on this board, would have been the ab-so-lute guaranteed saviour had Ned allowed him to pitch last night instead of TBow?
  14. It was nice to see two of the guys who've had the most derision (McDung anyone?), in McClung and Gross come through for us. Just goes to show that it's gonna be a long season and writing off guys in April might not be the best policy.
  15. You need a reason? Steal away. There's not a jury in the land would convict ya!
  16. Manny Manny Manny Manny...Mota Mota Mota Mota!
  17. Thanks, Hawing. Now I know that even if we lose, the day has something to look forward to!
  18. Prince got on, therefore they tried to replicate last night's bunt again and Soup made an arse of it.
  19. Hey, Geno, just for the sake of fairness, why doncha start a list of games where a managerial decision WON us the game, or does that not fit with the agenda? And Jazzytrav, you mentioned that I "obviously" hadn't researched a previous post then pull a number out your ass like Ned is the difference between 88 and 100 wins. Hmmmm...... Maybe it should be noted on this board that someone's conflicting opinion need not necessarily make it right. I'm just sayin'.
  20. Hindsight goggles - Get Em While They're Hot. They're lovely! Get your Hindsight Goggles here folks! Case in point. The Shouse HR against Votto the other day. Dude hasn't given up a HR in over 2 years to a lefty, so it was, regardless of the result, the more likely option than leaving a tiring Suppan in to face Votto. When it didn't pay off, the usual suspects come in with "what was Yost thinking? He needs to trust his gut more and stop playing matchups." When he does that, all we hear is "does Yost not realize that Player X is hitting .175 against Reliever Y? He should have pulled the starter earlier". The manager can't win, so Melvin should just fire him now and we can start the vitriol on the new guy's managerial decisions before the All Star Break. It is a fan's prerogative to piss and moan about the team they follow and its staff. I get that. I genuinely believe that some here, though, are not that unhappy when we lose knowing that they can fire up the old Grump-O-Meter...
  21. I hoped to reverse jinx Big Ben, but I think my sig says it all... *sigh* Ben Sheets - defining "Aceyness" "Broken-ness" since 2004
  22. It's. Been. 13. Games. Man, this is gonna be a long season if this keeps up...
  23. There's a guy named either Melvin or Marvin that has a little shop on the upper level at Grand Avenue mall that's always done really good alterations at a very reasonable price for me. He altered the sleeves on a leather jacket of mine and I'm very happy with the results.
