  1. Okay the question is this. Without any editorial, qualifiers or hypotheses, will the Brewers make the playoffs this fall? Simple yes/no answer. Let's see where we stand. I say yes.
  2. I guess it's glass half full versus glass half empty time again. I prefer to look at the bad week we just had and not bail on the season as a result of it. We are a better team than we've shown in the last week - we just are. But let's not take anything away from last night's win - it was huge. To come from behind with the last out against a team that has been difficult for us to beat ever since we joined the senior league, and with the winning hit by a guy some would jettison, was something. If you can't enjoy the highs, how do you know when there are lows?
  3. I love the fact that your avatar makes it seem like Gagne is reporting on that story! Oh, boy, 1000 posts. Whoda thunk it?
  4. I go by the advice I was given once. "If something seems too good to be true, it usually is".
  5. Can't just celebrate a great comeback win, huh? I get so pissed at so-called fans who want the Brewers to do badly just to fulfill whatever agenda they've got going. I just got back from the game and the release of pressure after Weeks hit in the 9th was tangible, for both the players and fans. Here's to the start of the turnaround. Make it 2 in a row Benny!
  6. This is a slump. Pure and simple. Despite having watched every one of the debacles over the last week, I firmly believe this team is too talented to finish under .500. One ropey month won't convince me otherwise. Surely there's been enough baseball watched over the years to not realize that a season has peaks and troughs. This is a trough, no doubt, but I wasn't thinking we were WS winners when we were 24-10 any more than I think the year is done at 16-18. What's that saying? "A pessimist is never disappointed"
  7. Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not the end.

  9. If you take out all the wins from the last year, the Brewers are 0-162. If that doesn't get Yost fired, nothing will...
  10. I'd say it shows a complete lack of confidence in the next hitter being able to bring Hall in from 3rd...
  11. I'm going to see Swell Season at the Riverside. At least that should be entertaining. Dear Brewers Please win so I have a nice surprise on my DVR. Love and kisses Robbo
  12. Some of you people are never freaking happy. Yesterday - "I can't believe we are trotting out the same lineup day after day" Today - "What the hell are we doing changing the lineup"? I don't know why we don't just start Harvey's Wallbangers and have done with it....
  13. I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)?
  14. Ever watch a Lou Piniella postgame press conference when the Cubs lose? Sheesh. That's the dictionary definition of "frustration". Yost's pissed, we all are. But when the Brewers lose, none of us have to listen to a bunch of internet "experts" try to get us fired. Knowing the talent of his team, if that wouldn't make you frustrated, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din.
  15. Based on what, exactly? If anything, that's the MAIN reason that the players and coaches will cite when asked. That they respect Yost for not throwing them under the bus like, say, Ozzie Guillen does. The younger players especially have mentioned this on numerous occasions. But, hey, don't let the facts stand in the way of the point you'd like to prove and the result you'd like to happen. Self-imposed exiles are for quitters! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Relax, Francis http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. Ned's got to go, simply because this tiresome argument is as depressing as watching the team at the moment.
  18. Man, I've just about had it with all you Simba apologists... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Oh, and, what a crappy game.
  19. If, by some mackerel, the Crew should somehow find a way to hang in there and sneak it late, I predict a 10 game win streak!
  20. The Brewers would get no-hit by Nelly Olsen the way they are playing
  21. I can't believe Yost left him in that long. Wait...nevermind.
  22. While I'm not thrilled at some of the performances this season so far, it's safe to say that that $10m albatross was always gonna be Gagne's problem with Brewer fans. Unless he reverted to the 2004 version of himself, he had a target on his back the minute he joined us. Sheets, Jenkins, Vargas, Hammonds and their like have all had their contracts held up for ridicule in a way that you just don't see as often with most other teams. It's no wonder that Cubs fans believe we'll never hold onto any of our stars because they know we expect Tiffany's performance at Dollar Store prices. I'm not saying $10m is peanuts, but it's early in the only year that we are commited to. When age catches up with Coco, he'll be glad that he doesn't have to hear about the "$46m waste of a closer" in thread after thread from Brewer fans.
  23. It's at this point we discover that his birth certificate is wrong. He's actually 73!
