That was a Brewersesque hitting exhibition there for the Nationals. Get 3 straight base hits and then not score a run. Now lets get Jorge some runs unlike last time.
I was thinking for a while that Yost was one of the worst in-game managers in a long time but then I saw Washington has Soriano hitting leadoff with 18 home runs and Robert Fick hitting clean up.
So basically before the season even started for me my team was doomed and then it just got worse. I traded Soriano and Blanton for Weeks and Mike Gonzalez because I needed a closer and figured the power stats between Rickie and Soriano would not be terribly large. I was wrong and Gonzalez has struggled all year in the small amount of chances he has gotten. Put that together with Sheets and Burnett hitting the DL for most of the first half and you have a team that is doomed no matter what I do. It was fun to actually have a reason to keep up with my fantasy team for once. Any chance that we can a consolation league for people that didn't end up in the top four that want to keep on playing?
How does the maximum innings pitch work because I noticed one of the guys in my league (1st base) went over and is still getting stats for wins and saves.
yeah my pitching is killing me with Sheets and Burnett just now coming off the DL and my closers don't get enough opportunities because they all play for bad teams. With Jenkins picking it up my offensive numbers are making up for the bad pitching but I don't know how long that will last.
Wished I lived in Milwaukee so I could join you guys this year but unfortunately I don't. We had our first practice for our church softball team on Monday and we actually got to scrimmage some guys. I hit a short fly ball to left that dropped in and the left fielder miss played it a little so I turned it into a hustle double. The lower half of my body did not appreciate me doing that. So I definitely know how you guys are feeling. Good luck and make BF.net proud. (Any chance of having a game-day thread for your games?)
Anyone listening to the pre-game festivities on XM or gameday audio. They keep playing this dumb music over and over again. They are introducing everyone in convertibles including guys like Gary Bennett. Anyone watching on TV? How does it look?
Can't believe this game isn't on ESPN but I suppose it has something to do with the Cards being on ESPN last night. Kinda sucks for me because my FSN only covers the Twins. At least I have XM. Game is on XM187 if anyone cares.
Lousy game today but looking at the glass half full or in this case more than half full we are still off to a great start. Now we start a huge road trip early. Need to try to go at least 4-5 this trip. Gotta flush what happened today and get those Cards at there place tommorow.
Nashville Breaks up the perfect streak for the organization. Thanks to our old pal Mike Adams and also thanks to Enrique Cruz. 10-1 still sounds pretty sweet.
Sounds like on the radio they are doing player announcements. Anyone watching FSN right now confirm that? I have a free preview of extra innings but they don't show pre-game or post-game shows.
I just noticed that the Pirates are starting 3 of the most notorious "Brewer killers": Jack Wilson, Sean Casey, and Joe Randa. Maybe it just seems worst than it is with these guys, but they always seem to kill us.
