  1. My wife won a 3 day trip from some company at a weeding show once. They conviently forgot to mention that we would be responsible for all taxes and airfare which had to be booked through their company, and their airfare was about 30% higher than I could have gotten from Expedia. We didn't even end up using the free vacation because it was getting to be so expensive
  2. I wasn't able to watch the Gagne meltdown or the previous Turnbow meltdown
  3. I wouldn't mind taking one of Pittsburgh's starters off of their hands. Of course it would be within the division, but I think Ian Snell or Tom Gorzalenny would look good in a Brewers uniform. Or maybe Vincente Padilla from the Rangers There are just to many teams that think they are still in contention right now. Wait 2-3 weeks and some more options may become available
  4. Well heck, if pitching isn't going to hurt it anymore, why not keeping throwing him out there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I am with the "What the heck was the training staff" thinking camp. I am not going to blame Yost because he was largely basing his decision on the opinion of the trainer. Not like it mattered since going back out apparently didn't worsen the injury I now hate Reed Johnson as much as I hate Sal Fasano
  5. It is also my impression, based upon several articles written about the situation that their are 3 possible scenarios 1. He goes unclaimed, reports to AAA and makes his 3.2 million salary 2. He goes unclaimed, refuses to go to AAA, forfeits his salary and his free to sign with anybody 3. He is claimed, the claiming team is responsible for the entire salary That seems to be how TH and McCalvy explain it
  6. We better win tonight. I need anything to get my mind off of the doom that is the Gallardo injury. A win today would go a long ways towards that. I am still fairly confident that we can compete, although it just became much harder.
  7. How about we trade the stadium rights for 2012 in exchange for Rich Hill? This would partially help our current situation.
  8. You sound like a Cubs fan The sky is falling, the sky is falling, we might as well not watch any games ever again
  9. Well this pretty much sucks, I got al my hopes up that he was going to be just fine and now I have my heart ripped out. Gallardo was quickly becoming my favority Brewer.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing LaPorta. Similar to the Prince Fielder in Tampa Bay situation a couple years ago. Get his feet wet
  11. They have faced Zambrano twice, Dempster twice (Who knew we would be calling him a good pitcher?) Aaron Harang twice, Johny Cueto twice, Adam Wainright twice. I think most teams wouldn't exactly be putting up awesome numbers on these guys.
  12. Can someone please explain the Braun/Beer incident to me? When and what happened?
  13. Maybe Soto really is that good and his crazy BABIP last year wasn't that crazy? Color me very impressed, although it doesn't bode well for the Brewers. He still can't possibly keep this up (neither can Lee IMO) but he is very very good and I would love to have him. Seems like a pretty good defensive catcher as well
  14. Weeks got his average above .200 and his OBP is .336 which isn't bad considering his BA. If he can get his BA up to .250 and continues to walk he could have a OBP around .375. I would certainly take that. We still have a chance to take a 2nd straight series from the Cubs.
  15. I fail to see why this is a strict LH and RH issue. Plenty of right handed hitters are fully capable of hitting right handed pitchers. Thus my conclusion is that Braun, Weeks, and Hart have the talent to consistently hit right handed pitching, they just need to focus more or something. I don't think adding Branyan or any other left handed bat would make a whole lot of difference.
  16. I am ashamed, I only made it to the 4th inning. I guess I am not that diehard, I'd rather watch real baby seals on the Animal Channel than watch Suppan and Turnbow get brutally clubbed to death
  17. I am pretty optimistic, his curveball looked good, has fastball velocity was so-so but he had no idea where it was going. That could be chalked up to rust and his fingers might have been a little numb from the cold. I think the Houston start will be more telling. He seemed in pretty good spirits during the post game interview. Sure he couldn't locate at all, but atleast he was missing out of the zone and not over the plate, he only gave up 3 hits. All things considered, he had a pretty good outings. I figure his W in this game makes up for the ND he got on opening day.
  18. I would guess affordability is pretty key if the Red Sox and Cubs are ranked that low and the Brewers are that high. Aren't Brewer tickets sonemthing like 30% below league average? And the Miller Park and Lambeau Field experiences are pretty cool as well.
  19. Heck, I was happy when I paid off the credit cards which were abused while I was in college. I still have student loans, my wife and I both have car payments, and I haven't even bought a house yet. My big day will be when the cars will be paid off. I know of a lot of other things I would rather use that $500 a month than paying for stinkin cars. Most notably, saving for a house.
  20. The parents were charged with 2nd degree reckless homicide tody according to the JS
  21. I am amazed we are doing this good. With the exception of Kapler and Kendall absolutely everyone has stunk or at least below where they have been historically. You could maybe include Sheets as an overachiever as well.
  22. Man the Rockies have blown late leads in 3 straight games. Corpas is just getting shelled this year
  23. I think it was a pretty well managed game. I suppose he could have pinch hit with Gallardo or something like that, but that is stretching it. He needed to get as many innings as possible from Bush and he took a chance. Very happy to see Turnbow succeed and Bill Hall still sucks.
  24. Come one Prince, you have to pick that. Seriously has he ever picked a ball out of the dirt?
  25. Isn't it kind of weird we don't play the Pirate until July 4th? We play them a ton in the 2nd half, this may benefit the Brewers in their quest to catch the Cubs. The Cubs are certainly good and they have had some underperfoming pitchers. Dempster really is their only pitcher who is playing over his head. I expect their offense to come back a little bit. You can't fault Cedeno for having confidence, but I would rather him focus on an NL Central title first and then focus on the playoffs. It is never a good idea to get to far ahead of yourself. A lot of things could happen.
