  1. I didnt realize we had such good splits against Harang. Also would some kind of law be violated if Gabe Kapler faced a right handed pitcher? Would the world come to an end?
  2. Just a bad bad game. Bush Sucks Turnbow Sucks McClung sucks Our outfield defense sucked Prince was in lala land all day Ned was to busy picking his nose to pay attention to the game But at least we can still go for a 5-1 homestand this afternoon Gallardo should be activated (He is good) Bush should be moved to the bullpen (A guy who gets killed after 5 innings is not a starting pitcher) McClung should be released (Um yeah he isn't very good) Turnbow should be released (He has wore out his welcome in my humble opinion) Mitch Stetter or Luis Pena should be called up (They are better than the bums mentioned above)
  3. Mark should just offer Prince part ownership of the Brewers.
  4. I want to meet the guy that created SpongeBob. You have to be one weird dude if you could dream up a cartoon about a talking sponge, starfish, and an underwater squirrel. And a pineapple? Come on now.
  5. Some dude in the comments section of the Brewers Blog said the Brewers close on a 6 year $32MM deal with Braun I think it is a complete hoax but whatever
  6. Absolutely he gets booed, this puts the icing on the cake...... Cordero says Brewers blew chance By Tom Haudricourt Tuesday, Apr 8 2008, 04:18 PM I just talked with Francisco Cordero and he said the Brewers blew their chance to keep him as their closer by not agreeing to talk about a contract extension last spring. Cordero, who set the club record with 44 saves in 2007, signed a free-agent deal with Cincinnati in late November and is back in town as the Reds play the Brewers tonight. The Reds topped the Brewers' four-year, $42 million offer to Cordero with a $46 million deal over the same term. But Cordero said it never would have come to that had the Brewers agreed to talk about an extension last spring before the season began. He also said he would have signed for less money at that time. "They would have taken a risk and I would have taken a risk," said Cordero. "They could have had me for less money. They said they wanted to see me pitch." Once Cordero hit the free-agent market after the season, he said he was fair game for any team. He said the Brewers made their $42 million offer before Thanksgiving and the sides were supposed to talk again on the following Monday. Instead, Cordero said GM Doug Melvin called and gave a Friday deadline to take the deal. "Why would I like that?" Cordero said of the deadline. When the Reds came in with their $46 million offer, Cordero said his agent, Bean Stringfellow, told the Brewers they had a better offer from a team "in the same division." "I think (the Brewers) thought we were bluffing," said Cordero. "We really did have a better offer. "We said they needed to make a better offer. They didn't do it." Cordero said he enjoyed his time in Milwaukee and wanted to stay here, which is why he wanted an extension last spring. Instead, after losing Cordero in the fall, the Brewers revamped their bullpen and signed free-agent closer Eric Gagne to a one-year, $10 million deal. "(Free agency) is open for anybody, not just one team," said Cordero. "The Cincinnati Reds showed a lot of interest in me. I thought the Brewers would be more aggressive than the Cincinnati Reds because I was in a Brewers uniform." So, that's Cordero's version of the story. I'll talk to Melvin about why he didn't want to make an offer to Cordero last spring and let you know what he says.
  7. I hope that Mom realizes that everyone watching that this morning now thinks that she is a huge piece of crap, and deservedly so. No wonder stuff like this happens, no accountability or fear of punishment. Hopefully justice will prevail. And how stupid can you possibly be? You tape yourself beating someone up and then you are going to show it to the whole world? Freaking idiots.
  8. Here is hoping that Johnny Cueto = Chris Saenz. Awesome debut and never to be heard from again. Totally different circumstances but you get my drift. My guess is 6 innings, 3 runs, 6 hits, 7 K's 2 walks. All in all not bad. But Soup is going to throw a perfect game so it really won't matter http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Is Ben really a gifted athlete? He has one heck of a right arm but I swear the rest of his body parts aren't really in tune with each other. I guess it really doesn't matter if you are a pitcher. I remember being awe struck when Ben hit a fly out the warning track last year at Miller Park. That was pretty sweet
  10. The pitching match ups for this series really suck. I will be very happy if we take 2 of 3 but I won't be dissappointed if we take 1. We should be favored to win the Wednesday game then it is just a matter of stealing todays game or knocking off Harang on Thursday. Reds really are lucky in avoiding Sheets and Parra.
  11. I guess I kind of understand the reasoning behind playing the Bucks game. Before the season starts you just can't expect the Bucks to be awful and be completely out of contention (I guess people could argue differently). So what happens if they just played teh Brewers games and the Bucks were playing for a high seed in the playoffs? There would be a lot of pissed off Bucks fans (Probably around 10-15). Just think if the Bucks early season overlapped with the Brewers end of season. How pissed would we be if they decided to play the Bucks game rather than a Brewers game? I am not going to get to worked up about it. Not a whole lot we can do with all the contracts and such. I have to bowl tonight so I guess it isn't that big of a deal to me. Friday that will be a different story. I really hope I come back tonight and see a solid Brewers victory. Cueto is awesome but he is a rookie, is pitching on the road for the first time, with his first step expectations are probably to high now, and he is facing a very good Brewers offense. This will be one tough game but the days are gone where I think the Brewers are incapable of beating tough pitching
  12. Congratulations to me!! Awful just awful
  13. The Cards are off to a good start no doubt about it. Their pitching shut down the Nationals and Rockies. The Rockies have scored 10 runs in 6 games. Perhaps the Cards just ran into 2 very cold offense teams or perhaps the Cardinals pithcing just turned them cold Thier starting rotation has an ERA under 2 coming from these guys: Adam Wainright - Career 3.57 (Not to bad at all) Braden Looper - Career 3.87 (4.94 as a starter last year) Todd Wellemeyer - Career 4.92 ( Had a solid 3.11 in 11 starts and 20 games last year) Brad Thompson - Career 3.89 (4.73 as a starter last year) Kyle Lohse - Career 4.78 They only scored a little over 4 runs a game. If all 5 of these guys didnt have a stellar opening game and where at least near where they were historically you would be looking at a 3-3 or 2-4 team not 5-1. They outscored their opponents 25-13 in their 5 games. We have outscored our opponents 40-19 and the Reds have outscored their opponent 27-24. We have been by far the most impressive. Their is just no way the Cards can keep up that pitching and they don't have the offense that the Brewers, Reds, or Cubs have. They will be under .500 by the time May comes around.
  14. Holy Goodness Batman!!! They didnt even make contact Awesome first inning
  15. This was by far our ugliest game of the year so far. That said we still got the win. I suppose that is the sign of a good team. That or the Giants are really that bad. Gotta believe it should be a good game tommorrow. Sheets on the hill facing a below average lefty.
  16. I really really like the Brewers. Is it tommorrow yet? Sheets is pitching right? Yahoo and cbssportsline have Parra starting but I thought I remember hearing that they would not be pushing Sheets back a day?
  17. I think Jason Kendall is better than Prince and Ryan http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I know hell cool off but I am loving him now
  18. I would think we will figure Sanchez out sooner or later. Pretty much all fastballs. That wont get him 2-3 times through on order like the Brewers have. Hell have to show something offspeed
  19. Lefty Opposing Pitcher - Check Villenueva on mound - Check Horrible Giants Offense - Check Home Opener - Check Not crappy weather - Check Predicted outcome 7-2 Good Guys
