  1. I think that's just part of Jack's delusions. Remember that the new Chief of Surgery gave him that curious look after he said that, as if to say "Your father has been dead for quite awhile." What I find interesting is how Jack in the future is essentially Locke. Jack always needed reasons for everything while Locke believed in fate. But in the future it's Jack who's screaming "We made a mistake! We weren't supposed to leave!" As for who's in the coffin, who would be taken to a funeral home in a poor African-American (or so it was portrayed) neighborhood? It would have to be someone that Kate (and apparently everyone else) despises, and someone that obviously only Jack felt any sympathy for. But why would Jack so desperately want to get back to the island? Since Kate is the only one he reached out to prior to his bridge incident, I'm thinking that maybe Jack, Kate, Sawyer (if he's the "he" referred to by Kate) and coffin-boy (Ben?) are the only people to make it off the island. Maybe he's obsessing with the fact that he didn't get everyone off the island and is desperate to get back. And I'm curious that if we'll now, being this is the halfway point of the show, being seeing "flash-forwards" of characters instead of the flashbacks. Haven't all the answers been basically answered for all characters as to how they ended up on the plane and their back stories?
  2. Now would have been the time for the Nats to use a lefty against Jenkins.
  3. It's too bad that Hill doesn't hit RH like Doug Davis with his pitching arm toward the mound. It doesn't do any good to plunk him hitting lefty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Wise basically was used in place of a LOOGY until Shouse was acquired, he has pretty impressive numbers vs lefties. Brian Shouse as a LOOGY doesn't scare me as a fan. When he was overused and left in longer than what a LOOGY should be used for, that's when he got into some trouble. I do like the idea of adding another lefty as a complement to Shouse, but not as a replacement.
  5. Peavey, The brewerfan political scene board (p201.ezboard.com/bbrewerf...icalscene) is still active, right? Would it be a good idea when discussions seem to be going in that direction for a mod to immediately close the thread and put the link for that board so that, if posters wish, they may continue their discussion completely off the brewerfan home board? I'm not sure how ezboard works, but would it even be possible to move the discussion (like how you can move from the OT forum to Issues - is it possible to move a thread from brewerfan OT to the brewerfan political scene board?) Although I agree that political and religion topics are rarely discussed without becoming hostile and really have no place on a baseball message board, it would be nice to be able to have a venue for (hopefully) civilized discussion separate from this site. For example, I minored in Religious Studies and love discussing different religions, especially their early history, so my X-Mas post was more of a history debate than religious (the thread was about your opinions, so I admit I did throw one in there that may have resulted in the thread being locked). Or maybe more people just need to be reminded of that site, similar to how you promote lambeauleap.net whenever a football discussion emerges?
  6. So they want the Brewers to eat over half of Clark's salary for a guy who stinks offensively so we can play him out of position in CF? And don't the Rockies remember Clark's catch in Coors Field? He's worth every penny of that $3.8 million! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  7. I know you were kidding, but Bonds chasing the most coveted record in all of sports would put some butts in the seats for those teams, who desperately need help drawing fans to the park.
  8. Prince Fielder contact mojo: http://www.sethspeaks.net/princefielder.jpg EDIT: Sweet!
  9. I'm surprised that we haven't heard any update on Eckstein's injury.
  10. [Cordero has an ERA now.] Nope, all 5 were charged to Sheets.
  11. If Eckstein knocks these runs in, I may need earplugs.
  12. Nobody beats the Sutton love affair with Eckstein, but Madden/Favre is on a national level. It depends on your definition, I guess.
  13. This is the same Prince Fielder that was "too fat" for the Oakland A's, correct?
  14. If Cordero keeps pitching like this, he'll be worth every penny of that $5 mil option next season.
  15. Outstanding play by Graffy, even if the runner was safe.
  16. I think Ned said he was going to use Turnbow in middle relief for awhile, probably not in a close game. I think we'll see Cappellan and Cordero for sure, with Shouse being a strong possibility depending on matchups.
  17. Ok... is Sheets flossing his teeth? I thought the image was funny with the words "Milwaukee Admirals Co-Owner" scripted underneath. "Milwaukee Admirals: Never Say Die... in the battle with the gum disease known as Gingivitis!"
  18. This is going to be slugfest. Hopefully Bush settles down.
  19. We have to remember that not all of his blown saves have become losses. I think we ended up winning 3 or so games that he's had a blown save (Mother's Day game being one). But he's still blowing way too many.
  20. And to think the Crew were just one bad pitch by Gonzalez and one bad inning by Turnbow away from sweeping this series. Did the Reds really overpay to solidify their bullpen? I'm not so sure anymore.
