  1. 3M TA3 (think about looking at that in your rear view mirror). I was thinking about getting Packer plates with SHVLPAS (shovel pass). Anyone remember the show "Empty Nest" when the next door neighbor Charlie got vanity plates that represented how much he loved the sea, but it came out as "CLOVER?"
  2. My freshman English professor in college despised Bruce Willis and his genre of movies for that reason. I think she said something like, "They start out by giving you some ridiculous plot, blow something up, have crappy dialogue, blow something else up, then blow something bigger up, and when they finally run out of things to blow up, they mercifully end the movie." Except she used more colorful language we can't use here.
  3. That's true. Carlos Lee did that last year or the year before. In that AB, he leaned, reset, then crushed a ball into the bleachers.
  4. Part of it is his delivery - there's nothing there to tip off hitters. But hitters usually can't sit on a changeup anyways, since pitchers who excel at throwing them also vary the speeds of their changeups. Wise might throw you an 85 mph fast ball, but are you going to get a changeup that's 70mph? 72? 65? It's hard to sit on that. And if you do, that 85mph fastball looks like it's coming at 100mph. The fastball/changeup combination is one of the most effective a pitcher can master.
  5. With his dreamy fastball/changeup repertoire? 5 stars, over and over again. While adding a quality lefty might not be a bad thing, Russ is right. Wise is nasty against lefties.
  6. Benoit is probably the last guy I would expect something like this from. By far one of my favorite wrestlers from the old WCW. He appeared to be a genuinely nice guy. And now, allegedly, he's committed the most disgusting crime imaginable.
  7. Congrats! I also got married yesterday.
  8. This is a pretty good idea. Her friend let me know that she despises traditional gold, so I went with white gold which she loves. And we'll be getting married in two days (Saturday).
  9. IIRC, a few years ago the ban on these TV ads were lifted but most of the networks were reluctant to air them. But they are becoming more popular.
  10. I don't think we'll see 3 Brewers in the ASG. http://www.rettilimania.it/images/imagecache/can-o-worms.jpg
  11. I still can't believe that. It reminds me of this: "During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box; and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab somebody." -Happy Gilmore Had he connected with that belt, are we talking 10 games? 20? Suspended for the rest of the season? That goes way beyond the usual baseball skirmish - he was willing to actually whip another human being.
  12. As Colby pointed out, it's actually a "Honey Bear," and you're right - people have been doing this forever. I haven't bought a Miller product in years, other than MGD's at bars here in Green Bay since I can't get a good beer (meaning Point special, Amber, or Spring Bock) outside of a 30 mile radius of Stevens Point. But this thread piqued my interest, and I bought a 6 pack of Miller Chill last night and came to this conclusion: Meh. It doesn't have that strong flavor that makes you love it or hate it (like most Leinie's beers), but that might be the point, I suppose. I personally cannot stand to drink Miller Lite, but this was tolerable. If they continue to market it as a "Mexican recipe inspired" beer, they may find a nice little market niche, of which Corona basically has a complete monopoly. And Miller Chill tastes infinitely better than Corona. But I'm surprised that I have seen absolutely zero advertising for it here, yet every gas station and grocery store seemed to have pallets full of the stuff. I wonder why they chose to wait until mid-summer for a national launch as opposed to going national with it for Cinco de Mayo?
  13. Just read the whole thread, and was wondering if anyone has DishNetwork or has any opinions on them. I live in Green Bay, and we currently don't have any cable/satellite. My options appear to be DirectTV, DishNetwork, or Time Warner Cable. However, I would also like to get high speed internet, but DSL is not available in our area which limits my options to TWC. Right now we have a land line phone really for the sole purpose of having NetZero. So I'm basically paying $50 a month for dialup internet. The reason I bring up DishNetwork is because the previous owner left their dish and all the wiring is set up so they'd basically just have to plug in the receiver and we'd be set. But are there any other options for highspeed internet that I'm overlooking? Maybe I should just pay $50 for Road Runner and cut the TDS and NetZero since we don't really use the phone line for anything else.
  14. The only way to get rid of them is to cut off the food supply, it's pretty much all you can do. It was the same on our farm. We had one live trap and used marshmallows as bait. One summer we caught 12 raccoons in 14 days. Once we caught them, my dad used a .22 because they did pierce the skin. There is no other way to get rid of raccoons when you live somewhere that has a constant supply of food (for us, it was silage and ground corn) so we had no other choice. But I'd probably take the bird feeder down if you don't want them exploring your home more intimately.
  15. In all seriousness, how close is Ned getting to being fired? At least we'll be getting lots of exposure on ESPN tonight! Yay!
  16. He was at the Green Bay Bullfrogs game on the 5th as well, I believe. A co-worker who went to that game still won't believe me when I explain his tax situation to her.
  17. I love Gord Ash's general interest info: Hilarious! I also never knew that Gord was straight out of Compton, and had gone Muslim.
  18. Isn't O'Hurley already doing Family Feud? And if the qualifications for the host of TPIR is to have white hair and a tan, I guess George Hamilton fits the bill.
  19. Didn't you say something about using "tact" when talking with people in a social setting? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif In all seriousness, people who behave like the original poster's coworker need to be "policed" by people with a conscience. We're not talking about whistle-blowing a co-worker who took too long of a lunch, or checked their email while at work. We're talking about a guy who obviously has no sense of decency and completely disregards the needs of others. What kind of person parks in a handicap space when they aren't disabled? The original poster was even fair enough to give the guy a couple of minutes to move his car, and all he got was attitude. I'm not sure if this guy is a subordinate or not, but if he worked for me, I'd be interviewing candidates to replace him in the very near future. And I wouldn't care how "smart, fast, and productive" he was. If he can't behave like a decent human being, he'd be gone. Behavior has everything to do with managing people.
  20. Wow, I had just assumed that robot technology would have advanced far enough to allow for a seamless transition from the "real" Bob Barker to an android so we would never have to deal with life without The Price is Right. This is a sad day. Say what you will about his overactive sex drive - Bob Barker is a multi-generational pop culture icon. I wonder what CBS has planned - replace Barker or replace the show completely? And with who/what? I hope it's not Richard Karn. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. One of my friends was here last night with a Sam Adams variety pack. He said all their beer was good, except for the Boston Lager, which he likened to PBR. And I'm still in the Sunset Wheat tastes like liquid Fruit Loops camp, and won't drink any Leinie's product that doesn't say "Big Butt Dopplebock" on the bottle.
  22. I loved Dirty Work. You either love or hate Norm McDonald, and I think he's hilarious. When he did the news on SNL after the OJ Simpson verdict, I never laughed so hard when he opened the news with, "Well, it's official. Murder is legal in California." And does anyone remember "Flight of the Navigator?" I think that movie and "The Three Amigos" were my favorite two movies to watch over and over again when I was a kid.
  23. Walt's mother is dead. That's why Michael had to fly to Sydney to pick him up when his stepdad didn't want custody of him.
  24. I had thought Michael might be in the casket, but he was living in New York pre-crash so I had ruled him out. Also, that would mean something would have happened to Walt, since he wasn't there. Michael also called his mother during one episode, so he definitely has family still around. I don't think it's Michael at all.
